[Yellow Rose for @Jacob Kingsley ]

While Elliot was still feeling a little sore about how badly Hufflepuff had done in Quidditch this year, it was still nice to be out on the pitch, though the weather was still sweltering hot as the end of Summer got closer. He wasn't surprised to find that Gryffindor was hard at work practicing despite the heat, and he waited for a bit in some shade near the stands until they'd finished up before approaching. Elliot didn't really think he'd even spoken to Jacob when they were both on solid ground and it was a strange feeling."Hey, excuse me, Jacob?," He said, tapping Gryffindor's captain nervously on the shoulder.

Practices had been going well and today's was no different. Jacob was halfway through a bottle of water, sweat pouring, when he felt a tap. He turned slightly, recognizing the guy right away though it took several long moments for his name to come. "Elliot, right?" he said fairly sure he'd gotten the name down. "What's up?" he asked, ducking down to grab a towel and wipe the sweat off his brow and shoulders. "We just got done with practice, sorry" he explained.

Elliot nodded, feeling slightly less intimidated that Jacob knew his name. But only slightly. "No worries, looks like you're working hard. Uh, rose for you," He said, offering Jacob the yellow rose and note.

Thanks for being a great friend all these years.

- Emilia

"Yeah, we are" he nodded his agreement. Jacob was quite proud of how hard everyone was working. He took the yellow rose. "Thanks" he smiled before beginning to unfold the note and giving it a read. It was from Emilia and the grin on Jacob's face softened. She was a good friend to him, and he was glad she felt the same way. Jacob was said they'd no longer be in the same school but he felt confident they'd be in each other's lives for years to come. "Thanks" he repeated. He didn't know Elliot well at all. "Going to the dance?" he asked. Jacob wasn't sure he would be going.

Elliot spared a quick look at the Quidditch pitch, trying to swallow the bitter feeling he still had about how Hufflepuff's season had gone this year. He knew he should let it go, but it still felt a little raw. Jacob's question about the dance made Elliot pause, feeling his face heat up as he remembered the rose from Alice again. "Uh, yeah. Probably. You?"

Jacob was too busy glancing at his own flower again to notice the teen's reaction to his question at first. It wasn't until he looked up again that he noticed anything but he didn't point it out. "Eh, maybe. They usually have good snacks at this dance" he mused.
