Fifth Years; Lesson 6

Professor Lyra Potter was sitting at her desk, a book in her hand. She was reading, knowing this would be a light week for her students. She had decorated the classroom with Christmas decorations in preparation for the upcoming Yule Ball and in an effort to keep her mind off of the anniversary of her mother's death. She was looking forward to going home for the holidays to spend time with Ezra and her children.

As the fifth years filed in, she looked up and shut her book. Rising, she smiled, ready to speak. "I am so glad to tell you this week will be a light one. I want you to review. You have your OWLS to sit soon, and I want you to be ready for them. You may review here, or on your own. I leave that up to you. If you wish to practice any of the spells that you might see on the OWL, my room is at your disposal. You are all old enough to be trusted to use your time wisely. Good luck and I will see you next year! If you need anything, my office is always open."

She smiled, and then sat back down, and began to read again.

Homework: Attendance post is all that is really needed. Bonus points if you create an outline to review with or practice spells. Good luck on OWL!

Teddy was in holiday mode prematurely this semester and particularly excited about his upcoming sixteenth birthday. He arrived for Transfiguration and listened to Professor Potter, deciding he didn't want to stay in the classroom if there was a choice not to. He slipped out first opportunity he had and returned to the common room. He didn't feel much like studying when he got there and spent the time relaxing instead. OWLs were intense and he needed a break for a bit.

Dominic couldn't believe it was his last week of lessons. He had been enjoying his classes and quidditch so much that he had lost track of the time. He hoped that this last week wouldn’t be too bad and that the professors would allow them to simply study rather than learn some new material with not much time left to go. As the teen entered the Transfiguration classroom, he smiled as the professor was giving them some time to go over material. He began trying to practice the vanishing spell, as he found that one the hardest. He managed to get it successfully a few times before finally feeling like he had it. As the lesson came to an end, Dominic thanked the professor for the study time before heading straight to his next class.

It felt weird not to have exams immediately after this semester's lessons. It really didn't provoke much motivation in Lucy, but at the same time she wasn't completely slacking off. Hearing it'd be a revision class, Lucy was going to make the most of her time. She decided to practice the vanishing spell some more, finding it easier and easier with each subsequent vanishing. Lucy was pleased with herself by the time the lesson was over, ignoring doing more study though she probably should have.

Callie walked into the transfiguration classroom and looked to the professor as the woman got started. She nodded at what they were to do and then got to revising, she'd do a bit of reading and then practice the spell, going back and forth until the lesson was wrapped up and she was able to leave the room.

Enoch walked into the transfiguration classroom and took his usual spot in the class. He glanced towards the professor at the front of the room, and just nodded. He packed up his things pretty quickly and then when the professor finished, he told her where he was going, the library and then headed to it. He wasn't about to stick around in the classroom.

Friday certainly wasn't going to admit that she had struggled a bit more with the spells they'd been set to do in this semester of the class. She had just struggled at times with evanesco, with the larger items. So she sat down int he room, and was very relieved when they wouldn't be doing anything more than just revising. She opened her books, and at least tried to revise until the lesson was up.

Veronica appreciated that her aunt Lyra treated her students like adults rather than kids which a lot still did even though they were now studying for their O.W.L exams. Veronica settled into her seat in her aunt’s classroom for Transfiguration and listened as she informed them they could use the time to study themselves either in the classroom or elsewhere. Veronica decided she would go and study elsewhere so she grabbed her bag and quickly left the classroom.

Millie was grateful for the light week, she had struggled with the ever increasingly hard vanishing tasks and wasn’t sure she’d be able to successfully vanishing anything more complex than they already had. Veronica by comparison, Millie was pretty sure she could make a person vanish, hopefully Teddy Pirrip didn’t find himself alone in a room with her any time soon. With permission to go elsewhere, Millie grabbed her bag and made her way out of the classroom choosing to go and study in the library.

Audrey had enjoyed transfiguration for the semester, sure it had been more on nailing one specific type of spell but she certainly felt comfortable with it now. She would just have to avoid the temptation to vanish her father's bat when she got home. Mostly because she wasn't yet seventeen and not legally allowed to do magic outside of school, but also in part because she wasn't sure how to recover it. Audrey knew she'd be on top of her transfiguration work, as she intended to spend some time working with Professor Pirrip next semester. She knew he wouldn't give her unfair assistance on the OWLs, and that wasn't what she wanted anyway. She'd just have more time spent working with transfiguration theory that would certainly avail her when it came to exams.
