Gemma could not believe how hot it was today. They had just arrived yesterday to her family's vineyard in Bordeaux and the heat was already getting to her. She had kept her word to Amelie and had invited her to come along with her family for their annual trip, and she was curious to see how the week would go. Gemma blew a few strands of hair out of her face and looked out at the rows and rows of vines. She knew her grandfather had all kinds of charms and wards placed around to keep the grapes from getting the worst of it and she wondered why he hadn't extended it to the rest of the estate. But he was stubborn and probably wouldn't listen to her anyways, or at least not right away. For now they had a big pitcher of lemonade and had found a shady spot for the two of them to relax. Gemma was leaned back in her chair with large sunglasses covering her eyes, and looked over to her new friend. "So how are you enjoying yourself so far?" she asked after taking a large sip of her drink.

Amelie was having a rough time, but it was slowly getting better. She was relieved when Gemma called her and invited her out. She was eager to accept, wanting to get out and forget about Gaby's rejection. She settled into her seat, smiling at Gemma. "It's nice to get away," she picked up her drink, sipping on it and crossing her legs. "I needed to get out," she sighed, shutting her eyes and enjoying the sunshine.

Gemma swirled the contents of her glass and enjoyed the delicate sounds of the ice cubes but glanced at Amelie as she spoke. She didn't know the other girl all that well but the tone of her voice sounded off. She lifted her sunglasses to the top of her head and turned to face Amelie more directly. "Oh?" she asked curiously and tried to sound the appropriate level of concerned. "What's on your mind?"
