Archie couldn't remember the last time he attended the Halloween feast without Orwell. But there he was, away from his best friend, and as a professor no less. He and Orwell always matched costumes, but he was there alone that Halloween and the only costume idea he could think of was a Vampire. It was unoriginal but it was a costume and after finding everything he needed, arriving to the great hall as a vampire was enough to make him feel happy. His usual decision when arriving was to visit the snack table and that night was no exception. When he arrived to the snacks table he found a large bowl of bubblegum. In the same way he did in his seventh year, he dug his hands into the bowl and then stuffed his face with all the bubblegum he could fit. He then looked around the room with a bubblegum laden smile, taking in the scenery and smiling at the students' celebration of an amazing holiday. He did not know how the decorations and atmosphere could get better every single year, but it always did, and as always he was impressed. He couldn't wait to see where the night would take him.

[Geovanna Adler-Cade]

Geo was a little worried that she hadn't seen her other friends in so long. She appreciated that Elly had come to the Halloween event, but she missed the other members of the IC and hoped that they would be able to go back to the way things were sooner rather than later. The third year had just about managed to get the hang of skating through the Great Hall without running anybody down, when she stopped beside the snack table. Even though she knew it would be difficult to get anything to eat or drink while she was dressed under the Sorting Hat, it didn't stop her being tempted by the snacks they had on offer. Spotting what she thought was an older student, Geo braked up beside him, wondering how easy it would be to grab some food while she was there. "Is that gum?" She asked, noticing how much he was chewing. She was hungry but at the same time it was a party and she would be happy with sweets for her dinner. Unsure of how she was meant to eat, she hoped the guy would be able to help her. "Can you pass me some of that?" she asked, reaching down underneath the hat, the best she could do without taking her costume off.

Archie was so lost in his own mind, in awe at the scenery that he almost did not notice a student speaking to him, until someone rolled up dressed as a sorting hat. He stared at them, dumbfounded for a moment, before realizing what they asked and responding in kind. "Oh I'm chewing gum." Archie said, words muffled by the gum itself. It was stupid of him to have so much gum in his mouth at once, let alone it was for the second time in his life. But he was a Gryffindor with no self control, especially when it came to candy so he could not be blamed for eating so much at once. When they asked if they could have some, Archie, in his small mind of thinking, spat out the gum in his mouth and offered it to them, not realizing that they meant the gum in the bowl, and not what he was consuming. "Here." He said, holding his hand out, filled with partially chewed gum, to the person.

[Lizzie Parker-Taylor]

Halloween was consistently one of Lizzie's favourite times of year. She loved all the costumes and the fun things to do. She was proud of her costume this year, wings flapping cheerfully as she made her way around the party. She wasn't sure who she wanted to hang out with, waving at a couple of people she recognised as she passed. After looking around the party Lizzie decided she would get something to drink first of all, and see who she could find to talk to. Approaching the snack table, Lizzie was just in time to see Archie talking to what looked to be a very large hat. Lizzie was about to come over and say hi to her mentor when she watched in horror as he removed a very large, nasty looking glob of something from his mouth and extended it to the hat. "What are you doing?!" Lizzie asked, looking between Archie and the hat in horror.

Given the limited sight that Geo had under her costume, she couldn't exactly make out what the student was doing, but she didn't have to wait long until she felt something in her hand. Geo was a trustworthy person, and rarely had any reason to doubt peoples intentions. She would give them a chance and only if they caused her or her friends harm would she consider them to be suspicious. She did however, feel as though something wasn't quite right when she realised what she had been handed was warm, too warm for what should have been a fresh piece of chewing gum. Geo jumped as she heard another student crop up beside them, and retracting her hand back into the giant hat she set about discovering what exactly she'd just been given. Looking through her eye holes she vaguely recognised the student, but couldn't recall having ever spoken to her before. "He's sharing his snacks.. I think" she replied, turning her attention back to see if she could discover the food in the dark.
