Another rain of snow showered the vast land of Hogwarts that February morning. Aliviah was eager to go out and take pictures of the white covered lawn of the school. Dress already in her winter attire with her magical camera in hand. The Gryffindor girl was out of the door of her dormitory. She met a few people in the common room, Aliviah only smiled to them and continued her journey outside. The cold immediately touched her nose once she was out of the confines of the indoor. She loves nature and all things it had to offer. Like the snow. It was a magnificent look. White. Fluffy. It was a wonderland for most of them. Aliviah rewind the film and took another photo. The fourteen year old looked down at her camera. A second hand bought by her dad on her last birthday. Aliviah loved it like it was her life. It was special.

Moving on while taking pictures, the Gryffindor ended up by the frozen lake. The ice was dark and she captured it remarkably. Aliviah wanted an up close take. She didn't know the different kinds of ice, the girl was only fascinated by a frozen lake. She can ice skate but, of course, not in a lake. Once she was near the edge, her first step was cautious. Aliviah can hear the crackle of the ice because of the weight she was bringing. Without thinking, she went on the center where she knows it would be shallow. As far as she knows, no crack means she was okay. The brave Gryffindor continue to take pictures of the surrounding area of the lake.

Donned in his black winter ensemble, Atkin ventured out of the dormitories one early winter morning. He trudged down the stairs, nodding hello to people he knew on his way out of the castle. He was greeted by the magnificent view of pure white. Winter had set and this made everything so pure and the sound of silence ever sweet. Always the early riser, the fourth year made his way to the grounds, passed the great lawn and did not stop until he reached the lake.

Once he reached the lake, he closed the last few steps to the edge of the lake as he took in his surroundings. Serenity. That was what came to his mind as he looked down to his shuffling feet. Snow, shoe prints, and cracked ice. Perfect winter. Wait, shoe print and cracked ice? This made Atkin looked back up and was immediately met with a figure not too far from him but to get there, he must step onto the ice as well. "Hey!", he called out while he gingerly started to step into the ice, careful not to worsen the cracked ice previously."Ali, can you slowly step backward toward me?", the fourth year requested. He could already see who it was and this made his heart skipped a beat. Aliviah Waldorf, a fellow Gryffindor and his classmate. He knew the lake too well to know that she was standing in a dangerous spot."Ali.", he said, all the while concentrating on his steps.

The dark haired girl took more shots that she can developed later on. The potion's class room was the right dark room she needed and the Professor was gladly to share his classroom to her. Aliviah was into adventure but not the extremes. She went a little farther, mesmerized at taking photos. Her other siblings that hasn't been sorted likes to see what the castle looks like every season and it makes them like Hogwarts more.

Her back on the shore, the Gryffindor heard someone called for her. She turned around briskly, stomping her feet lightly enough to break the thin ice between her and the water underneath. Aliviah barely got to say anything when she came crashing down at what she thought was shallow enough but ended up in the deep part of the lake. She looked like Cherly Blosom from Riverdale although she was struggling to come up for air but her leg had been tangled on some seaweed like plant. Aliviah was panicking, her camera was ruined but she was more thinking about her life at that moment.

Atkin was relieved when he saw Aliviah turned her head toward him. Carefully yet quickly, foot after foot he pushed forward to reached her before something bad happened. A smile was about to break out of the Gryffindor's face as he was thinking of many ways that could help him save Ali from her predicament when the inevitable happened. With a blink of an eye, he saw Aliviah plunged into the icy water as the thin ice broke beneath her. "Aliviah!", he cried out although she could not hear him. All thoughts flew out of the window as an unexplainable fear twisted his heart. Abandoning all attempts of walking on the ice slowly, Atkin made a dash, all the while his eyes not leaving the spot where he last Aliviah.

There was no splashing making his heart twist more. Flinging off his bonnet with one hand while his right pulled out his wand,Atkin hastily casted a bubble head charm on him before diving after Aliviah, clothes and all. Grateful for the swimming lessons he had, he was able to navigate underwater. The cold bit through his skin but the Gryffindor ignored it as his grey eyes settled on his classmate. He could see that the girl was freaking out, for the lack of word to use. She could have kicked herself to the water if not for the seaweed plant tangled around her leg. Not wasting any time, he kicked his legs through the water toward Aliviah. Reaching her, Atkin showed up in front of his classmate's face. Cupping her face as a way of reassurance, Atkin then dived down to untangle her legs quickly from the plant. Thankfully,it quickly came loose around Aliviah.

Aliviah was such in a panic that when she screamed for help, only a few bubbles came out of her mouth. The girl didn't even think about her wand that was tucked safely behind her jean pocket. She also forgot about the spells that she learned for four years that could save her. Thugging on her foot as she might, it won't budge off her.

As if all hope was failing, a silhouette of a man dive in to where Aliviah was. She thought he was sent there by the angels as she felt her face being cupped. The fourteen year old nodded in response, not fighting the rope like seaweed on her ankle. Atkins Grayveson was her life saver and he will always be in her debt. Once her foot was free from the entanglement and had enough strength to come up for air. Aliviah pulled Atkins with her until the surface touched their heads and Aliviah once again can breath.

With a few breaths, she hugged Atkins very tighly. "Thank you so much. Thank you." Aliviah let out words while shivering. What if he didn't find her? What if she was alone at that moment? But all she could think of is how grateful she was for him. "I owe you so much, you couldn't imagine it." Aliviah didn't have all the money in the world but if she had to work hard she will repay him.

As soon as the seaweed came loose, Atkin felt Aliviah's hand pull him to the surface. He knew that she was panicking and already out of air so the Gryffindor kicked his legs harder for them to reach the surface. He could already feel the biting coldness of the lake. With this in mind, he worried for his classmate as she was submerged longer than him.

When their heads broke out of the surface, Atkin did not waste time pulling her completely out of the water. Before he had the time to clearly check on her welfare, he was tackled by a tight hug from the girl. Good thing, Atkin was able to put out his left arm behind him to break their fall. His right arm instinctively wrapped around her slender waist. Again, the strange thump in his heart began. "Hey, it's okay. You're okay.", he said soothingly. Deep inside, his inner self was freaking out. True, he found Aliviah attractive, sweet and kind. All the more reason for him to conclude that Ali would never see him as more than a fellow Gryffindor. He silently cursed his thoughts for going there.

They were still in that awkward position, near the ice hole, in the middle of the frozen lake. Atkin was confident that the ice they were in was thicker than the one Ali was on since the crack just stopped a few feet from them. His arm was still around Aliviah, preventing the latter from moving away although she did not move away herself. He adjusted them both as he sat straighter before looking at her wet yet still angelic face. "Ali.", he started before his voice trailed off. Throwing caution to the wind, he leaned forward and lightly pressed his lips to hers. Not too hard to give her a chance and choice to pull away. Not too light to show the sincerity of his feelings, whatever they were, to her.

It had been overly dramatize, the whole thing. Lucca scuff, and rolled his eyes at the pair. Idiots. The slytherin had bare witness what could have possibly had been the most avoidable thing in the world. Iced or not, it was stupid of her to step over the lake surface and take pictures as if she were weightless. Then, here comes lover boy, here to save the day. Because he had already predicted this scenario in his head and there was no chance he was going to miss that opportunity. The ice cracked and oops there she went and there went lover boy going after the fallen maiden. He would laugh, but he held back in case she accidentally die or something.

Fortunately for her, he made in just in time to pull her out whatever that was holding her down. He thought it had been her clothes and the weight of the ice cold water. Lucca saw the pair struggle underneath, then eventually broke surface. By this time he was already standing a few feet away from them. Lucca laughs, like the couples on film, lover boy decided after coughing and hacking their lungs out for air that it was time to kiss the girl. "Bravo! That was pretty entertaining." Lucca spoke up, his lips curled in a smirk.

The wind a cold crisp. Her face pale. But Aliviah's lips was warm from the touch of Atkin's lips. Her eyes immediately shut close, halfway to kissing the boy who saved her, another entity came forward to annoy them. This was Atkin Grayveson. The Atkin Grayveson. Next to Chaser Reeves Rosendale, he's the hottest guy in their house. Ali, embarrassed, pulled her lips off. The Gryffindor girl pursed her lips while her eyes were still closed. "Hello to you, too, Lucca. I can't believe you were just watching for me to die." Aliviah nodded slightly as she opened her eyes. Lucca DeNiro. How can she explain the weirdness of her friend?

Lucca likes to torture her but Aliviah loves him as a friend anyways. She wanted to strangle him for so long but the Slytherin straighten up sometimes. "You know what? Why don't you just summon us a couple of blankets? At least you helped." She told Lucca with a fake smile that she's so used to use on her friend. Aliviah turned to Atkin and gave him an apologetic smile. "Ummm, well, thank you ..." She trailed off, looking for some other words. "Well!" Aliviah stood from the ground gingerly, falling a few times trying to stand up until she got to balance herself. "I'm pretty sure my parents are going to hear about this and it's not good." She laughed nervously.

Atkin felt Aliviah responded to the kiss. Pleased with himself,he was about to deepen the kiss despite that they were on the ice floor when an annoying, yet familiar, voice spoke out. Lucca DeNiro. If there was an example of a friendship between Gryffindor and Slytherin, their friendship would do. The Gryffindor was torn between laughing at him or be annoyed for ruining the moment, whatever it was. Hearing the girl he just kissed greet the Slytherin with a friendly sarcasm,Atkin settled for a light chuckle as he and Aliviah slowly separated from their close position.

Looking up at his friend,he smirked,"DeNiro.Perfect timing, bro.",although Lucca seemed to be already there. With the wand still in hand,Atkin summoned a couple of blankets and his thick coat from the dormitory. Aliviah spoke out beside him saying her thanks shyly. All he could give him was a warm smile before he stood up the same moment she did.She tried to keep her balance, failing a couple of times before holding her own. Instinctively,he grasp her hand to steady her. Just that moment, two blankets and his coat came zooming through the air. Catching them,he put one blanket over his shoulder, placed his coat over Aliviah's slender frame before placing the towel over it,covering her from her head down to her legs.

Lucca slowly clapped his hands together and shrugged. "Didn't want to ruin the moment! It was hellah cinematic." Lucca mused. "And may I add, it's about freaking time." Lucca took in pride in poking fun of them. He never missed a chance. Though half the time he wanted to rip his eyes out of his sockets, Lucca encourage Atkin to approach Aliviah. Like all the time."You mean to tell me, you were going to wait until you're both clinching to your last dying breath to do all that?!" Lucca snorted. "Unbelievable."

Lucca didn't bother to lift a finger. Like the romantic idiot he was, Atkin had it all under control. "Or maybe it'll be good? Almost died and you've landed yourself a fiancé!" Lucca piled on. As they were situated thanks to Atkin, Lucca lead the pair back to the castle. However, he walked backwards, as he blew smoke from his mouth. When it was cold out, he liked to pretend he was smoking those muggel cigarettes. Like they did it films and pose in magazine. Smoke funnel from his mouth, he pointed at Aliviah. "Waldorf, dummy, what were you thinking?"

Aliviah gave Atkin a warm smile as he steady her from the constant clumsiness she was making. The Gryffindor girl sigh when the boy who saved her was the one who summon the blankets as well instead of her crazy Slytherin friend. "Thank you." She gave another gratitude to Atkin. Aliviah can feel her cheeks burning from embarrassment. She can't believe her first kiss is when she almost died. But why did he do that? She thought, Aliviah honesty thought that he only likes girls with the same status as him and that's being rich. Or maybe he didn't know what he was doing.

As they started walking back to the castle, the dark haired girl listened to Lucca as he rumble about her and Atkin. Aliviah was confused and had to stop on her tracks. "What are you saying?" She asked her friend. Totally Lucca didn't thought that Atkin likes her? Yes, she fancied Atkin since their first year but she never thought it was two sided. It was always one sided. Aliviah didn't wait for Lucca to response, instead she turn to face Atkin. "Umm, okay, please, tell me our idiot of a friend is lying here?" She didn't wanted to believe it, of course. She was trying to smile. A big smile.

Again,Aliviah thanked him which was completely unnecessary. Atkin vowed to himself that he would do anything for this girl who captured his heart.Heck,he would even move mountains for her. He was just worried that he would lose the firnedship that they already had if the girl knew. So,doing these things for her,see her smile his way,was enough for the Gryffindor to get by.

With Lucca on the lead, they trudged the way through the snow to the castle.Atkin had his arm ready just in case,Aliviah would stumble. Just as the boy had relaxed himself that Aliviah would not know about his feelings nor intentions,Lucca DeNiro just happened to spill the beans. Though it was cryptic,Aliviah would figure it out if she would analyze it. Atkin widened his eyes at Lucca, willing the Slytherin to keep his mouth shut.To make matters worse,Aliviah stopped in her tracks and directed a question at him."W-what?I d-don't know what he was talking about.",he stammered, feeling his blood rose to his cheeks. He almost pounced on Lucca, slinging an arm around his friend."Come on,DeNiro. You're just hungry.",saying it out loud for Aliviah's benefit."Damn,bro.Do you want me to get slapped by her?",he added under his breath. He looked back at Aliviah, giving her a wide smile to conceal his awkwardness.

So the cat so wasn't out the bag, and Lucca may have poke holes in to let it all out?! He became frustrated with the both of them, and Atkin blocked him. Stopping Lucca from spilling anymore of the beans. "You're an idiot, ah come on man! Did you not see what happen back there?! She just kissed ya and everything?! While you two were at the brink of death!!" Lucca scuffed, loud whispering at his friend. Lucca wanted to choke his friend, right then and there. It took a great deal not to body slam him against the snow and shake Atkin like crazy.

"Yeah, you're right. I am hungry, right what was I thinking? I'm a little delusional from the freaking gas in my stomach!!" Lucca saved his friend's ass. As much as he wanted the both of em together, he backed off because he respected his best friend's wishes. "And you're full of it, right Grayveson?!" Lucca broke away from his grip and pulled Aliviah in between them. Pretending like he didn't flapped his gums just a few seconds ago, he ignored the whole ordeal even happened. "Come on, let's get some fat in you, Waldorf. I really am starving!"

Ember was on her way out of the castle, her bag filled with bread she'd stolen from the kitchens. There was this one spot in the Forbidden Forest where the birds would come to you, listen to your troubles. The rumor was that if you caught them in the right mood they could help you. Not that she had any troubles that needed the help of mystic birds, but they were very pretty and she liked to watch them as they ate.

She wasn't really paying attention to where she was going, lost in her own little world as always. It was quieter there, with less idiots. Still, she probably shouldn't have been surprised when she rounded a corner and slammed face first into another kid. She fell back onto her bum, clutching at her nose. "Ow! Ahh, Bollocks...!" She groaned, before opening her eyes to see who had gotten in her way.

The Gryffindor girl crossed her arms in front of her chest and was waiting for Atkin to stop stammering. But then he masked it by getting Lucca out of the way. Aliviah was getting worried about it all but she guess she'll wait for Atkin to tell her whats going on. The girl rolled her eyes when Lucca mentioned that she needed fat in her, Aliviah likes her figure, she was average but she guess she's too skinny for her friends?

Once she gave in, they all walked back to the castle. Not knowing who they will meet along the way. Rounding a corner toward the Great hall, a force had hit Aliviah enough to send her on the floor. Her nose throbing, she held it with her hand. "That hurts so bad." She stated to no one. She'd been hit by bludgers before but this one kills her enough for her to almost swear.

They just rounded a corner when the next thing Atkin knew was Aliviah already on the ground, rubbing her nose. Acting on his protective nature for the girl,he unknowingly pushed Lucca forward, not caring what happened to his friend, and was instantly on Aliviah's side. "Ali!You okay?I'll bring you to the hospital wing."With gentle hands,he cupped her cheek, eyes worried on her face. He began helping her stand, one arm back again around her. He turned to see who it was and was half relieved to find Ember. Hello,Em. You alright?I guess we'll go ahead. Or do you wanna come with me and bring Ali to the hospital wing?",he invited the Slytherin pair although deep inside he was praying they would not go with them. Atkin's grey eyes were staring at Lucca, sending a silent plea to say no to his invitation.

Lucca had been running his mouth nonstop about being hungry and teasing Aliviah. The collusion happen so suddenly, both girls walked into each other. Lucca, not at all the heroic type, still felt a ping of sympathy for the both of them. "Ha, that looked like it killed!" He voiced his opinion. "Poor girls." Lucca went to console Em, following Atkin's lead. "You good, right? Don't need to bring you up there with Ali?" He wished to not, the way Atkin was all hinting mean he needed to bug off. "I think you can handle it, Atkin. I'll stay around with this one." Lucca shrugged. He cared about his friends, but didn't much bother with the small stuff. With soft guys like Atkin around, it made it easy for him to be dismissive.

Em rubbed her nose, the pain fading a little as Aliviah apologized, Atkin freaked out over Aliviah and Lucca was a smartass. She almost laughed at how that one thought practically summed up each of their personalities. She put her arms behind her, holding her up. "Hey guys," she greeted, hardly noticing the blood dripping from her nose. "I'm totally cool," she reassured the two lovers, waving them away. "I'll just hang out with Lucca. You two go on without me."

Her heart was raising from pain but it doubled when Atkin was almost hysterical about the incident. His hands on her cheeks gave her shivers down her spine. "I'm fine, I just need some ice for it." Aliviah wasn't a sissy, she can handle a fractured nose for a bit. After a crueling seconds of throbing nose, Atkin helped her out just to noticed who bumped her. "Oh my god, Em. I'm so sorry." She apologized when she realized she got more pain than she does. It was bleeding and the red sticky liquid made her light headed. Blood was mostly the thing she didn't like about the human body. "I think Em needs the hospital wing than I do. Will meet you all in the Great Hall." Aliviah was trying to not look at Em and her bleeding nose but at the same time she didn't want to be rude and all.
