When Octavia had first gotten the idea to apply for professor, she hadn’t expected that she would be hired for real. Teaching was something that she had recently discovered to be a true passion of hers, a sort of secret of her own that she hadn’t thought of sharing with her sisters, or with Rory. It had completely slipped her mind. But, she had mentioned it on a whim to her parents a few months prior to considering it seriously, and they had encouraged her to search for any opportunities that might pop up. At the time, it had seemed a little ridiculous, considering that she was playing quidditch professionally and therefore was travelling quite a lot - between the training and basically raising her youngest sisters, as their legal guardian, it seemed completely bizarre that she would drop everything to come and teach in a school. But Octavia had done the research after some time of having that conversation with her mom and dad, and when she saw Hogwarts had a few positions to fill, Tavia couldn’t resist. She had almost contacted the school spontaneously, without giving it too much thought otherwise she could’ve talked herself out of it. And before she knew it, she was packing her things for her new job. It was incredible. The woman had asked her parents to keep it a secret from her sisters as she had wanted to surprise them, and she hoped they wouldn’t be upset about her holding this type of information from them. Octavia was in the professors common room, studying her schedule, it seemed that her first year classes were going to be busy. Admittedly though, she was curious to meet the whole lot of them.

Landon was very much happy to be teaching at Hogwarts. He had taught for the whole of his career and didn't think he'd ever be able to find anything better to do. Ensuring that the next generation of people were bright and alert and ready to take on the real world made Landon feel fulfilled. He felt like he was doing something for the future and it always made him overjoyed to be teaching students new things and seeing them develop during their school years. It made the man feel like he had a purpose, and so he always looked forward to his classes and hoped that other professors felt the same way.

The man entered the professor's common room to find a book that he had lost at the end of last year. He rather enjoyed reading it and hoped it hadn't disappeared during the holiday break. With some time before his next class he thought he would start his search. However, as he gazed around the common room he noticed a new professor who, it seemed, was studying her schedule immensely. Landon beamed at this, happy that the new professor was taking this so seriously. He approached her with a big smile on his face. "Hello!" he said, hoping he hadn't disturbed her too much. "I'm Landon Carter, the younger years Herbology professor. It's nice to meet you." He stuck his hand out for her to shake.

i'm so sorry for the delay & possibly bad reply

Octavia looked up when she heard a voice, as she was one of the very few professors in the room she figured the person was greeting her. She returned the smile, placing her schedule beside her. "Hi Landon, it's nice to meet you too," she said politely, shaking his hand. "I'm Octavia. The younger years History of Magic professor," she introduced herself with a light chuckle. It was surprising her how friendly even the teachers were, although it was true that she had yet to meet many of them formally. Still, at least this man had been kind enough to approach her. "There seem to be a numerous number of first year students," she commented, glancing at her schedule briefly before turning her gaze back to Landon. "Are there always this many every year?" Because if so, then Hogwarts was surely popular.

"It's nice to meet you too!" Landon exclaimed as the woman shook his hand. She introduced herself as Octavia. She was the new History of Magic professor for the younger students, and despite the fact Landon was able to meet someone new, he still always wondered what happened to the previous professors. Did they get a new job offer? Did they retire? Did they not like teaching anymore? Landon always had so many questions. He chuckled as Octavia pointed out that there were so many new students this year. "Oh yes, there always are. But they're a fun bunch to be around when they're young and chirp. Find something fun for them to do, something they can do on their own, and your job is done." Landon told her, figuring that was the most easy way to go about it. "But I'm sure you know what you are doing, it's easy. Have you taught students before?"
