Lindsay Love dug furiously through her closet in her house. She was dressed in tight, short sequin dress. The veela's emerald jewelry was the perfect match to her bright green eyes. Her blonde curls were straightened and pulled up in a messy, but sexy hairstyle. Lindsay sighed in frustration. For the life of her, she could not find her other heel. She crawled over to her bed and peaked under it. Of course! There it was! She grinned as she stood on and slipped it on her left foot. Perfect! She was completely ready as she heard the beginning chimes of the doorbell. She callled out a good bye to the house elf as she ran out to meet Alastair at the door. She grabbed her purse, sealing up the house behind her.

Lindsay grinned as she held lightly on to Alastair Hall's arm. She kissed his cheek in a greeting before they apparated to a safe spot near the club. They were heading to a new, hip club that had opened up a few miles from her home. The club was a muggle one instead of the typical wizarding one at the mall. Lindsay had talked Alastair into trying it out with her. Ever since she had met the man last May, he had been one of her dearest friends. The pair was almost always together, something that had helped bring her out of the funk she had been in when Paul had passed away. Alastair brought life back to the young part-veela, not to mention sent her heart fluttering. Lindsay wasn't sure what she would do without Alastair.

The blonde entered the club first, grinning as she looked around. It was crowded, loud, and had a huge bar. Lindsay immediately loved it. Her emerald eyes turned up to Alastair, excitement flowing through them. She was beaming at the man. "What should we do first?" she asked curiously.

Alastair couldn’t believe that he was actually getting ready to go out to a nightclub. Never in his life had he gone to one, even when he was younger; he wasn’t one for going out. Although, tonight was different because he much preferred the company that he would be in compared to any other time he was asked to go out. When Lindsay asked him to go to the new muggle nightclub that had opened up new her home he was, of course, anxious at first having never been to one before. Although it didn’t take an awful lot of persuasion from her to make him finally give in and just go for it, what could it hurt?

The past few months that he had known Lindsay were some of the best times he had had in a long time. He didn’t even want to know what would have happened if he hadn’t decided to go out for a meal that first night he arrived in New Zealand, for if he hadn’t done that he would never have met Lindsay. She had become one of his closest and dearest friends during the months that they had gotten to know each other. It took a while for them to create such a strong bond, with Lindsay being a part veela she immediately thought people only liked her because of her veela blood but Alastair had seen through that and had got to know Lindsay for who she was and not what she was; something he had been able to show her after a while.

After he got ready he apparated to Lindsay’s house and rang the door bell. After a few moments of waiting he heard noise at the other side of the door and looked up to see Lindsay coming out. Alastair had gotten used to her beauty but tonight it took him a moment to gather his thoughts, he knew it was rude but he couldn’t but stare at her for a moment; she was beautiful. Smiling down at her before they apparated off he took her arm and let her kiss him softly on the cheek. It wasn’t too long until they had arrived a bit away from the nightclub out of the muggle’s sight. Alastair could hear the music from where they were and his insides knotted with a mixture of excitement and fear at what tonight would be like. As the approached the club his stomach only knotted more but he relaxed knowing Lindsay was with him. When they entered the club Alastair looked around in surprise, the place was so big; he didn’t know what he was going to get himself in for. When Lindsay asked what to do first he laughed slightly, “You’re the expert at this.” he said jokingly. “How about a drink first?” he suggested, inclining his head towards to the bar.

Lindsay grinned at Alastair's suggestion of drinks. "Great start." she told him brightly as they both headed for the bar. Normally, the young woman didn't really drink at clubs. She had always been afraid of what would happen if she got too intoxicated. Tonight, she wasn't going to worry about that. Lindsay trusted Alastair completely and knew that he wouldn't take advantage of her, not that she was sure she would mind if he did. He was one good looking guy. The blonde had noticed several girls turn their eyes to stare at him when they walked in.

The pair made it to the bar, parting through the crowd. Lindsay hopped up on a bar stool, making her already short dress even shorter. Most of her upper thigh was now showing. She patted the seat next to her, motioning for him to sit down as well. The barkeeper hustled over and asked them for their drink order. Lindsay was a thin woman and alcohol typically affected her quickly. She turned to the man with a devilish smile on her face. "How about a shot of vodka as well as a martini?" she asked, intending to take the shot then sip her drink. She turned her emerald eyes on Alastair as she waited for him to order as well.

The green hues of her eyes stared at Alastair. She couldn't keep the smile of her face as she looked at him. More than anything, she was happy that she had met him all those months ago. He looked past her nature and for that she would be eternally greatful. He had become less sensitive to her Veela side and liked Lindsay for herself. Alastair was her one true friend here in New Zealand.

Alastair couldn’t help but laugh softly at Lindsay’s enthusiasm about having a drink first. She seemed different when she was out, but Alastair liked it. He liked Lindsay full stop, but of course he wouldn’t tell her this, things between them was far too good right now and Alastair didn’t want to ruin that. Making his way over to the bar, Alastair hoped that Lindsay wouldn’t mind that he wasn’t much of a drinker, he would have some just so as not to ruin the night in any way at all. As he walked to the bar he couldn’t help but notice the wandering eyes of men around the pair, their eyes were practically hanging out of their head. Alastair wasn’t one bit happy about this, how rude!

His face hardened slightly as he watched the men gawp at Lindsay like she was something on display. Although his face softened considerably when he turned round again to face Lindsay, she was always able to calm him. Taking a seat opposite her he turned round to face the barman, not really sure what to order. Giving a slightly surprised look at Lindsay he laughed a bit, “You’re hardcore!” he said with a smile on his face. When the barman turned to him he answered, “I’ll have the shot as well and a beer, please.” he said, intrigued as to see how this was going to turn out. He smiled over at Lindsay as he waited for their drinks to arrive. Tonight was going to be good, he was sure of that. When their drinks arrived he gave a nervous laugh as he took a deep breath. Lifting up the shot glass he turned to Lindsay and said, “Bottoms up!” Waiting to take it at the same time as her.

Lindsay smiled politely at the bartender, though purposely trying not to br the least bit flirtatious. She knew now about the effect she had on men and how attractive she was to them. Lindsay went out of her way to lessen the effects on strangers. She lifted up the shot glass he had placed in front of her, ordering one more for herself and Alastair before the man walked away. She full out grinned at her friend. "Here's to a great night." she said before tipping back the glass. She felt the odd burning sensation down her throat as the licqur slipped down it. Lindsay sat the glass down and move her fingers to rest on the stem of the martini glass.

Lindsay turned to Alastair once more, beaming at him. "How awesome is this place?" she asked him happily. To be honest, Lindsay was happier whenever Alastair was near her. It was almost as if he was the sun warming up her life. She put the glass to her lips and drank it down. She knew she should probably slow down with the alcohol but she was just in too good of a mood tonight. It would be a few minutes before the alcohol starting taking effect in her blood. "So how was that photography shoot you were telling me about? Did it go well?" Lindsay asked him. Of course anyone who didn't like Alastairs photos then they were crazy. She had several in her house, including the ones Alastair had snapped right before they met.

When the drinks arrived Alastair gave the bartender a small nod in thanks before throwing the galleons over the bar. Picking up the shot glass, Alastair looked at it with his eyebrows frowned, not too sure how this was going to pan out. “Cheers!” he said to Lindsay before taking a deep breath and moving the glass over to his lips and tipped it just enough for the clear liquid to run down his throat. Immediately he felt a burning sensation along his throat. Quickly he slammed the shot glass down on the bar and lifted up his beer bottle and downing a few mouthfuls. Placing the bottle down he let out a small groan as he gave his body a moment to get over the shock of the alcohol. He laughed when he looked back up at Lindsay, he probably looked like a right weakling compared to her.

At Lindsay’s question Alastair looked around the nightclub. The dance floor was packed to capacity and people were still coming in through the door. Turning back to look at Lindsay he nodded his head, “It’s pretty awesome!” he said in agreement. Alastair took another sip of his beer, planning on pacing him now after the shot, he knew how some people acted when they drank heavily and he didn’t want to be one of those people. When Lindsay asked about his photo shoot earlier in the day he beamed. “It went great!” he exclaimed. “I’m really hoping this shoot helps get my name out there more.” he added. He was rather proud of his work in general, especially today, but he was still new on the scene and didn’t get an awful lot of work. Even today’s shoot was for a small magazine and didn’t pay the best, but it was a good start. “How was work in the shop?” he returned her question.

Lindsay frowned at her empty glass. How was it that all the liquid was already gone? Surely she didn't drink it all that fast right? She sat down the glass and looked back up at Alastair, a wide grin spreading over her face. "I'm sure it will Al." she said, using a nickname for him that she had used a few times in the past few months. "I mean come on." she said exaggerating her words. "Your pictures are beautifully amazing!" she exclaimed. Lindsay knew that Alastair had a huge talent with photography and she was 100% supportave of his dream. Lindsay shrugged at his question. "It was slow now that all the children returned to Hogwarts. They are the main costumers so today I just made sure the animals all had everything they need....Though an adorable kitten came in. Would you like it?" she asked, wondering if her friend needed a pet. "No charge." she offered, a smile on her face.

At that moment, the bartender returned with the two other shots she had asked for as well as a new martini that she had not asked for. Lindsay's green eyes looked over at Alastair. He still had at least half a beer, and didn't look like he wanted the other shot. Lindsay would just have to drink them both. She picked up one, downing it in a single gulp, and immediately did the same thing to the next one. She washed the burning taste out of her mouth with some of her yummy martini. By now, she was feeling very good. Lindsay flashed Alastair with a bit of a wreckless smile. "Would you like to dance with me?" she asked, hoping the answer would be yes.

Alastair could have sworn that the last time he looked at Lindsay’s martini glass it was at least half full. If that was so, then why was her glass now empty? She seemed to have downed the drink fairly quickly and he only hoped that she knew her own body well enough to know when she had reached her limit and stop drinking before she went too far and something maybe happened. Alastair smiled at Lindsay’s comments about his work. He was truly grateful to have someone boost his confidence and he knew Lindsay wouldn’t lie to him about it – well he hoped at least. He would like to think that if she didn’t like something that she would tell him and truth be told he’d rather hear it from a friend than some big critic. “Thanks, Lin.” he said, with a tiny smirk as he too used his nickname for her, he wasn’t too fond of it but if she could give him one then he could give her one.

Alastair listened to Lindsay talk about her day. It sucks that her only busy time was when the children from the school were on holiday which wasn’t even that much during the year to keep her occupied in the shop. Although the animals, from what he gathered on his various trips to the shop, was a handful at times. When Lindsay asked him if he wanted a kitten, free of charge, that had come in he pondered it for a moment. “Sure!” he said with a laugh, not expecting a kitten offered to him tonight of all nights, but he could use some company at the flat when he was home alone. Alastair saw two more shot glasses arrive but when the bartender set one down in front of him he immediately shuck his head and pushed it away. The last one didn’t agree with him so he wasn’t going to risk a second one. His mouth fell open slightly when Lindsay downed to two shots within a matter of seconds, he tried to interject but it all happened so quickly. Then she took a sip from a new martini glass, But she didn’t order a second one! he thought in slight alarm, How could she just take a drink and not know who it came from? At Lindsay’s question he couldn’t think of a better idea, and because it got her away from the bar it was even better. “Let’s go!” he said grabbing her hand but made sure to hold on to her enough in case she fell.

Lindsay grinned as he said he would take the kitten. That made her very happy since she really didn't want to part with the kitten. It was by far her favorite in the past few months but she was worried about it around Bella. She would at least get to see it if Alastair kept it. "I can bring it over tomorrow after work if that's good for you?" she offered. Usually, Al came to her house because of Arabella but she had seen his place a few times. Lindsay's heart did a flip flop as Alastair took her hand, agreeing to dance with her. She jumped down off her barstool, careful not to stumble. Her head spun slightly before steading out. Maybe she should not have drank all that so fast....it had just been so long since she had a night without having to worry about Arabella.

Lindsay followed Alastair out on to the dance floor. A fast paced song was playing as they made it to the center of the room. Lindsay began to dance, her hips swaying seductively. It was the kind of dance that was entrancing and inviting, the kind that was magical almost. It went along with the characteristics of veela, how they could entrance men, though Lindsay herself wasn't aware of what she was doing. Most of the men in the club had stopped what they were doing to watch her having fun. Her head was already beginning to feel light and clouded after a few minutes. Finally, a slow song came on and Lindsay stopped dancing, turning to beam at Alastair. Her arms snaked their way up to his neck, wrapping lightly around it. By now, she could feel the affects of her quick consumption of alcohol. Emerald eyes turned up to Alastair, taking in his handsome face. In all these months, Lindsay's feelings for Al had been growing in these past few months, not that she would ever tell him. "This is fun." she murmured to him. "I'm glad we could do this tonight." she admitted.

The idea of Lindsay coming over to his place was rather appealing to Alastair, even if was to just drop over a kitten. Lindsay hardly ever came over to his place but to be honest he preferred going to hers most of this time. Arabella was always there, and Alastair had grown to adore the little girl she was so cute, and of course Lindsay was always there but he enjoyed being wherever she was. “That sounds perfect!” he exclaimed. He was pretty sure that his excitement wasn’t over the new kitten he would be getting but because Lindsay would be coming over. He was just glad that he didn’t have work tomorrow so he could tidy the place up enough for her – not that it was messy with Alastair being a bit of a neat freak his flat was always tidy.

Finally they were away from the bar and out in the middle of the dancefloor, Alastair wasn’t much of a dancer but at least he was better at it than drinking. He began to let his body move to the music freely, trying not to think about it. Although he soon wasn’t able to think about anything as he caught sight of Lindsay dancing. He had learned to control himself in front of over the past few months. With her having veela blood in her it wasn’t always easy but normal day-to-day things was just fine. Although right now even he found it hard to take his eyes off of her. The physical attraction to Lindsay wasn’t helping him right now as over the months that they had gotten to know each other he had developed a stronger attraction to her that had nothing to do with her physical beauty. Slowly he felt himself coming back to himself as Lindsay had stopped dancing in that way as the music slowed down considerably. Once he felt like himself again he felt Lindsay’s arms wrap around his neck and he followed suit and let his arms wrap loosely around her waist. Looking at Lindsay he stared into her emerald eyes, tonight was turning out as good as he had hoped. “Same here. We should do it more often.” he said, hoping she would agree, especially if they turned out as good as this.

Lindsay's heart gave a little flutter as Alastair placed his hands on the small of her back. She had developed feelings for him in the past months as he had grown to be one of her best friends. He was the only one that she felt like she could trust and just be herself with in New Zealand. Someone that appreciated her for her. Not that she would ever dream of mentioning her feelings to him in her right mind. Lindsay didn't want to ruin the perfect friendship they had going by making it awkward. Al wouldn't want a girl with a kid by her dead boyfriend, even if he did love the little child.

The alcohol was starting to make her head swim as they swayed to the music. She smiled at Alastair as he spoke. She nodded her head in agreement. "I think we will." she said, placing her head on his shoulder. Her lips were not quite touching the base of his neck but they were awfully close. It was so tempting just to reach out and kiss him. Her breath was warm on his neck."Actually I heard about one of those old driving in movie places not far from here. It looked pretty fun. Would you wanna do that?" she asked curiously. "We could rent a car." Lindsay suggested.

As Alastair held Lindsay in his arms and swayed easily to the music that moved throughout the nightclub he slowly became unaware of everyone that surrounded him and Lindsay. All her could focus on was the woman in front of him, everything about her was so enticing and he hated himself for feeling the way he did and thinking the thoughts in his head. He was supposed to be Lindsay’s friend, well what type of friend let themselves fall for their friend? Despite Alastair knowing that these feelings weren’t right he knew that, unlike most other men, they were more genuine as he could say without any difficulty that he knew Lindsay, he knew her for her and not just for her looks; that had to mean something, right?

When Lindsay agreed that they should do this again he beamed, his eyes lighting up with happiness. He listened to her suggestion and contemplated it. Of course he had heard of the type of thing she was talking about, he had experienced them in the New York, back home. With all of his family being muggles he had grown up with the experiences of both Worlds, something he was grateful for as only growing up knowing about one of the Worlds he knew his childhood wouldn’t have been the same and in turn his life wouldn’t be as great as it was right now. “Can you drive?” he asked Lindsay with a small chuckle when she suggested hiring out a car. He had learned too when he was younger back at home but when he got his apparation license he hadn’t felt the need to do it as much.

By now, the alcohol was in full affects in the blonde haired woman's body. From this point on, Lindsay could not take responisiblity for anything she said or did. Her head was spinning as she swayed with Alastair. All her limbs felt very light as she clung to Alastair. Lindsay was a lightweight so the drinks she had were much to strong for her body to handle. But she wasn't thinking about that. All Lindsay could focus on was Alastair. He was kinda like her knight in shinning armor. He had came into her life unexpectedly and saved her from her darkest days. Everything was better, and easier when he was by her side.

Lindsay turned her emerald eyes up to look at his face. "No but I can learn." she said, not understanding how difficult that was. She smiled, pleased with what she saw. Her hands were at the nape of his neck. One finger played with his hair line, scratching his head. Without any thought about what she was doing, her red lips pressed up against his, kissing him full on. It was what her heart wanted though it was the alcohol that made her act out her feelings. Her lips lingered on his briefly before she moved back, looking up at Alastair, afraid he might be mad at her for what she did. Lindsay's heart was beating fast, overjoyed with the fluttering feeling that kissing him gave her. It was unlike any other.

So far the night had been going brilliantly as far as Alastair was concerned. Sure the night was still young but the way he looked at it, the night had started off great so it had set a standard for the rest of the night that was sure to continue. As the two talked Alastair began to like the idea of more nights out, together, just the two of them. Sure they spent pretty much all of their time together, there wasn’t a day that went past where they didn’t see each other since they first met all those months ago. Then again anytime they met it would be when Lindsay was a work, or they’d meet up for lunch or Alastair would go over to Lindsay’s house but then again Arabella was there and regardless of the house elf or not all of their time was spent with Arabella. Not that Alastair minded, far from it, he loved the little girl to bits and enjoyed playing with her.

Alastair could tell that the music would be coming to an end soon and a part of him grew sad at this fact because he knew that he and Lindsay would have to break apart from their embrace of sorts. Alastair enjoyed being close to Lindsay like this and while he knew that it meant nothing; they were just friends; he couldn’t help but hope for more. So with that in mind and that another slow song may not be played tonight he lowered one of his hands into his pocket and brought out his compact camera, given his occupation it was no surprise that the camera came everywhere with him. Looking away from Lindsay for a moment to make sure that the camera was in a good place to take a decent picture of the two. Happy with where it was at he turned his head again to get Lindsay to look at the camera for a picture but as he turned his head to look back at Lindsay he didn’t have time to ask her for the picture as he felt her lips against his. In the shock of the situation his finger pressed the button on top of the camera so there was a picture of the two, but they were kissing; not what Alastair expected but he enjoyed it regardless. Lowering his arm again he brought his arm back down to Lindsay’s waist holding her closer; tighter than last time. He knew that what they were doing right now was wrong but he couldn’t help but return Lindsay’s kiss, it was what his heart wanted and for once it over ruled his head.

Lindsay was slightly surprised when a flash went off. She knew Al carried some type of camera with him everywhere he went but it seemed he had set the camera up before she had kissed him. Lindsay was used to Alastair taking pictures of her and them and she even loved that he did. Her house was littered with dozens of pictures of Lindsay, Arabella, and Alastair. It was almost like they were a little family minus the fact that she and Al were just friends abeit very close friends. He was her support system when things got tough. It was natural that her feelings for him had grown over the months turning into much more than just friendship. She was afraid to express her feelings for fear that he would turn her down and she would ruin her friendship.

Only, the man was kissing her back. Lindsay felt like she could soar through the sky. The blonde twisted her fingers through Alastair's hair. pulling him closer to her. Her drunken head was not thinking about any consequences this might have on her relationship with Al, Lindsay was only thinking about how much she wanted him. She pressed her thin figure up against him, not caring who was watching them. In fact, the young woman was completely unaware of anything other than Alastair. Her lips moved against his passionately as her heart beat wildly in her chest. She broke away for only a moment. "Um, I think I'm ready to go home." she said, before leaning in to kiss him once more.

Alastair was a little worried that he had taken, by accident or not, the fact still remained there was a picture of him and Lindsay kissing. Even though he was kissing her, here and now, in the middle of this night club, it was still hard to believe. He was partly happy that he had taken the picture because it would mean that he would have a way to prove to himself come the morning that this just wasn’t a dream. Oh how he hoped this wasn’t a dream. He had dreamt of this moment enough but this time it felt so real it just couldn’t be a dream. Although the one problem with this being real was it meant that he wasn’t going to wake up from this and just go on with his day to day routine...it would mean that it was going to cause some sort of friction in his and Lindsay’s friendship. Regardless of the fact that she had initiated the kiss and followed on with it, Lindsay really wasn’t in her right frame of mind right now, when people drank they couldn’t be held to their actions, if anything he was probably taking advantage of her state.

Even with all of this going through his mind he couldn’t stop himself from what he was doing, Lindsay was like a drug to him and the fact that he had wanted it for some time now didn’t help him any. As Lindsay moved closer he felt her hips swaying against his body. Keeping one of his hands on the small of her back he kept her close to his body as her hands went through her hair. He raised his other hand to cup her cheek; the touch of skin was almost electric against his fingers. Almost too soon her felt Lindsay pull apart. He began to brace himself for her shouting at him but as he looked into her emerald eyes he was surprised to hear what she actually had to say. Nodding he leaned back to kiss her again but not for as long this time. This time he pulled back and began to lead her out of the night club, giving her as much support in case she was too drunk to walk properly in those heels. Once they were outside he took her around the corner where they had arrived, just out of the sight of prying muggle eyes. Once he was sure it was save he apparated the two back to Lindsay’s place, knowing that it was the place the two knew better out of both of their places.

Lindsay was acutely aware of where Alastair's hands were on her body. She could feel the warmth radiating off of him as he cupped her face in one hand while the other was on the small of her back. In the back of her head a little voice whispered that she should not be doing this, but Lindsay tuned it out. Even in her drunken state of mind, she knew Al was completely fine. He had not had too much to drink so he didn't have the excuse of being intoxicated. Could it be possible that Alastair wanted this just as much as she did? The alcohol was only making her act out thoughts that had been running through her head for some time. Everything seemed too perfect, like the way their lips fit together as if they had been moulded and shapped for the purpose of kissing the other. As the blonde looked at him with her emerald eyes, she realized that she had fallen for her best friend when she wasn't paying attention.

Her heart skipped a beat as Alastair nodded his head, not protesting her wishes. He kissed her once more before helping her out of the club. She staggered slightly but Alastair was lifting so much of her weight that walking was too much of a problem. Once they were in the alleyway, Lindsay wrapped her arms around Al once more as he apparated them back to her house. She kissed him again on the steps before leading him inside the house. The house was dark and quiet. Arabella had long since been put to bed. Lindsay had Al's hands entwined in her own, leading him down a hallway. They both knew where she was leading him, to her bedroom. The young blonde shut the door behind the pair before turning to face him. Her emerald eyes glowed with anticipation of what was really long overdue. Lindsay wrapped her arms around Alastair, leaning up to kiss him deeply and passionately. Her arms slowly dropped as her fingers began to unbutton his shirt.

The cool night air blew around the two bodies that were so close right now that it seemed as if they were just one body. The fit well together in every aspect it was hard to believe just how well their bodies meshed with the other; it was surely a sign. Regardless of the sign Alastair couldn't help but have the nagging feeling that he was letting what he wanted so badly haze his judgement. No doubt when the morning came it would come out that he was just taking advantage of Lindsay in her drunken state. Was what he wanted really with ruining they friendship for? With his mind still whirling he felt Lindsay's lips against his once more before he let himself be lead into the house that had become like a second home to him over the past few months when he had gotten so close to Lindsay. A lot of the time it never even crossed his mind anymore that he would have to ask before coming over when most of the time he would just come over for no reason other than seeing his two favourite girls in the world.

As the entered the house Alastair felt Lindsay continue to lead him down the hallway. He of course knew where this hallway led too but right now he couldn't even think straight. All he could do was look at Lindsay, he felt himself getting more attracted to her with every passing day; he often wondered the veela charm maybe had a delayed effect on him. Entering Lindsay's room he heard the door close behind them he felt Lindsay's lips on him once more, his arms slowly wrapping around her slender waist, bringing her close once more. He felt Lindsays arms', that were around him, fall slightly. As the buttons on his shirt became undone he let his arms fall from Lindsay's waist to let it fall to the floor. Alastair knew what was coming; his heart was racing at the idea of it. Again the nagging feeling in the back of his head interrupted him once more, although this time it was more serious than simply kissing Lindsay, if they were to go further they were no way they could go back to being just friends and he didn't want that. Pushing back slightly he caught his breath for a moment. "Are you sure you want to do this? Because I don't want to make it seem like I'm just taking advantage of you." he voiced his worries. He was sure it sounded stupid but Lindsay meant more to Alastair than anything and the thought of losing her for a stupid action on his behalf scared him.

Lindsay frowned as Alastair pulled away from her. Subconciously, her beautiful lips slipped into a pout. She didn't want to stop what was about to happen. She took a step back, giving him the space he obviously wanted. At that moment, the blonde felt humiliated. She had been wrong. Al didn't want this like she did. Her veela nature had just pulled him in with the kiss and he hadn't been able to stop himself until this moment. She diverted her eyes from his face, feeling tears start to form. Lindsay stared at his bare chest, feeling the need to come clean about her feelings for him. She hated herself and what she was. It was possible that she had just ruined the best friendship she had all because she had been to weak to resist the deep feelings she had for Alastair. He meant the world to her, second only to her precious daughter.

A moment of silence passed with Lindsay staring at the floor. Alastair finally broke it, asking her if this was what she really wanted. He didn't want to take advantage of her. It seemed like it was the other way around in reality. She was taking advantage of him, but still, she had to answer his question. She took a deep breath, looking up into his eyes with her own. Slowly, the blonde girl nodded her head. "Of course. Why wouldn't I?" she asked him. "I mean you're kind, sweet, and my best friend. You are always there for me and my daughter even though you really don't have to be." she said shaking her head. Maybe it was because of all these things that they should not do what Lindsay wanted to do. She was severly intoxicated but all her words came from her heart, words that she wouldn't have dared to say sober. "I love you." she said quietly. The words hung in the air, silent and heavy. "If anything, I'm taking advantage of you. I understand if you just want to leave." she said, glancing away from him. Lindsay didn't want Alastair to go but she had just confessed her feelings to him, something that might make him uncomfortable now. Did she just ruin their friendship?

Alastair noticed how Lindsay had lowered her head. He didn’t know what it could mean but the only two options he came up with were that she just didn’t want to look at Alastair in the eyes anymore because of what just happened, she could be angry; upset; embarrassed – there was too many emotions for Alastair to think of in the few seconds of silence he had before he had to speak. The other option that Alastair considered was that she thought his backing away would mean that he didn’t want to go through with what was clearly evident to both of them; something that was only half true. Truthfully there was nothing more that he wanted but he didn’t want to do it in case it would ruin their friendship beyond repair. If tonight was teaching him anything it was that life was far from simple.

After he had said his bit he waited for Lindsay to say what she had to say. He had no idea what she would make of his words. Of course there was the standing fear with him that the drink had taken a big toll on her and was maybe too drunk to understand the situation...he hoped not. When she answered his question he was unsure if he was surprised or if he wasn’t surprised that she did want to go through with it in the end. It was moments like these that he wished there was one of those muggle recording devices that he could have recorded it for future reference in case everything blew up in his face the next morning. He listened to her continue talking, as she did he slowly wrapped his arms around her and once more pulling her close to him. His heart began to race faster and faster now. Hearing all these words made his beating heart swell for the love he had of the woman in his arms. Then he heard them; the three words that ruin every friendship because after those three words were uttered there was no going back to being just friends. Once Lindsay finished talking Alastair lowered his face towards Lindsay’s once more and resumed kissing her while walking them closer to the bed. Softly laying her down on the bed he looked down at her. He stopped kissing her only for a moment to say, “I love you too and I’m not going anywhere.” before he started to kiss her again, softly yet passionately.

Lindsay waited anxiously for Alastair to say something, anything. A rejection would be better than the silence. She turned her green eyes up as he moved. His words would make or break their friendship. Though she wasn't sure if she could go back to only being friends with him now. Not after she had told him that she loved him. Lindsay felt Al's arms wrap around her, pulling her in towards him, encasing her body. The blonde felt the adreniline pumping in her veins as he pressed his lips down on her once more. Her heart thudded loudly in her chest, so loud that she was sure that Al could hear it. Her lips moved in sync with his, fitting together with passion and the love she posessed for him.

Alastair guided her to the bed, laying her down gently. He pulled away for a moment, causing her to worry that he might have changed his mind. Instead, he spoke three words that made her stomach do flip flops. He loved her back. Lindsay was certain she had to be dreaming because this was just too good to be true. He was her perfect match and already better than most guys simply as her best friend. If this was a dream then the young woman hoped that she would never wake up. She flashed him a brilliant smile. "I wouldn't want it any other way." she promised him. Lindsay unbuttoned the rest of his shirt, letting it fall to the floor. Her fingertips lightly traced on his chest before moving down to the buckle of his pants. She sat up slightly, only to unzip the back of her dress, shimmying it off. There would be no turning back now. Things were different and they would remain so. Lindsay had found her love and was determined not to loose this one. In her heart she knew Al was the one for her and that he meant it when he said he would never leave her.

Time Skip....You know why.

Lindsay awoke to the morning sunlight. She stretched her arms out, before rubbing her eyes. What had happened last night? She couldn't remember anything after dancing in the center of the room. Suddenly she was aware that she didn't have a stitch of clothes on. What the he11! The blonde was very confused. She sat up, holding the covers to herself. Next to her was her best friend, Alastair Hall. He had stayed over in the past but it had been purely platonic. Lindsay wasn't sure about the rest of him but he was certainly bare on top. What did that mean? Had they hooked up?

The blonde let out a small gasp. Had her Veela self had a greater effect on him with the combined effects of the alcohol. She laid back down in the bed, afraid to wake up Alastair but what on earth was going on?

The night before had been perfect! There was no other way the twenty year old could describe it but; perfect. Everything about it had been just how Alastair had imagined it and better. Albeit parts of it hadn’t been how he had imagined telling Lindsay that he loved her but despite the same differences he had told her and for that he felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. From the moment they met just over nine months ago Alastair knew there was something special about Lindsay and as time passed and their friendship grew stronger so did the feelings Alastair had for his best friend. It was always a dangerous territory to tread on, from moving to the next step in a relationship after friendship to a relationship; and one that most of the time was a mistake and ruined great friendships. Not in this case Alastair knew that the transition from friends to lovers was the right step for himself and Lindsay.

Alastair felt himself coming to as a beam of light came through the window and hits hit eyes. He was awake but he didn’t want to get up just yet. He felt the warmth of Lindsay’s body beside him and a smile crossed his lips. His body was completely relaxed right now but his want to see Lindsay’s beautiful face was enough for him to wake up from heaven. Sliding his arm around Lindsay’s bare waist he pulled himself close as he leaned up and kissed Lindsay neck, “Good morning.” he said between small kisses on her neckline.

Lindsay had no idea what was going on as she heard Alastair stirring next to her. She was certain he would be able to clear this up for her. She was about to open her mouth to ask when he rolled over, pulling her close against his body. Her body went rigid at the feeling of his bare body on her own. Of course, she loved him but he didn't know that. He kissed her neckline as he said good morning. Lindsay was confused, he acted as if he liked her. Like really liked her but that couldn't be true, could it? Was her veela nature still affecting him? She turned her green eyes on him. "Ummm....good morning." she greeting him back.

Carefully, not wanting to hurt his feelings, she distanced herself from him. Whatever had happened last night surely ruined their friendship for good. She didn't think that she could do anything to change that. Lindsay would be crushed when the affect of her blood wore off on him. She looked at him with a confused face, making sure she kept her naked body covered. "Uh Al? Could you please explain to me what happened?" she asked, feeling very lost.

Alastair enjoyed the electric, tingling feeling coursing through his lips which went on through his body, wakening him up fully now. Even the taste of Lindsay was enough to get his adrenaline pumping, even so early in the morning. He knew that what he was thinking would probably be constituted as...well lustful thoughts but he knew they were far from it. He loved Lindsay more than anything and to know that she felt the same way about it meant more to him than anything. As Lindsay returned his greeting he let out a small, “Mmmm.” As a sort of reply, as he continued to kiss her neckline.

He only stopped when she distanced herself from him. He understood, it was early in the morning and it was their first morning to wake up together he should take it a bit more slower; but then again after what they did last night he didn’t know how he could take it slow, Lindsay was like a drug to him. His love for her was more powerful than any emotion he had felt before. Pulling his arm back from around her waist he propped himself up on his elbow and let his now free hand intertwine with Lindsay’s. He smiled at the woman he loved, his eyes full of nothing but the strongest emotion he had ever felt towards any other person in the world. Although when he asked her question Alastair’s face slowly started to fall, his eyebrows frowned and his smile became smaller until it no longer existed. “Wh..what do you mean what happened?” he asked in a confused yet worried voice. He knew that the fact that she as intoxicated last night impaired both of their judgements and that Lindsay didn’t know what she was saying last night. “You don’t remember...anything?” he asked, his voice full of worry now.

Lindsay could tell Alastair was heartbroken at her words which hurt her. She never wanted to cause him pain. He was the second most important person in her life, only her child came before him. Her house was littered with pictures that had Lindsay, Bella, and Alastair in frames, like a real family. Though the blonde did consider Alastair part of her family already, whether or not he was in a relationship with her. Still, to see him look so crushed it hurt her deeply. What exactly was she missing? What was the vital componet that she wasn't understanding?

Lindsay looked at him with a pained look on her face. She shook her head slightly, her blonde curls falling around her face. His hand was twined with hers, making her feel even more confused. "The last thing I remember is dancing with you in the middle of the room...." she admitted slowly. Lindsay hated hearing the worry in his voice. She didn't like causing him a distress. He was her hearts desire and more than she deserved. "How did I get here?" she asked him in a small voice.
