*but in a civilised manner - let's try and keep it to the artists and their performances and not get too deep into the politics of certain countries participation and the questionable nature thereof.

First semi final was today (Tuesday 13th/Wednesday 14th May here) with the 2nd on Thursday night and grand final Saturday night. All at 5am for me so I might need an espresso macchiato. ;)

I was going to make a poll over whether or not Sweden is winning it all but I'm on my phone. They have been the heavy favourites the entire time and it seems somewhat inevitable but there could always be surprises.

I am loving how much fun the artists are having together this year, it just seems like a really fun group of people. Personal favourites song wise this year for me are Albania, Iceland, Finland, Australia (obligatory), Estonia, Lithuania and yeah, Sweden the inevitable but I kind of like them all, and even my least favourite (the UK, sorry) is just because it's not to my personal taste rather than me thinking it's a bad song. (Edit: this is a lie, I forgot about the ones I'm ignoring, and also Cyprus and Croatia sorry they were not great). Curious to hear other opinions if anyone's listened to songs early like me (or are you all normal, lol).

Also Tommy Cash please call me thanks.

I know Sweden are the favourites, but they won what... two years ago? I haven't seen the performances yet, so it's hard to say because Dan and I only watch the finals so we try to go in unbiased. I haven't seen any of the ones who won the semi's, but I have seen a couple of the ones who got eliminated and some of them were pretty good so I can only imagine the rest of them are good as well.

I have seen a little of Australia's entry, obviously as it was on the news, and I have to say this is probably the first time I've really seen us get into the Spirit of what Eurovision is. Mind you I've only been watching it for the last three or four years so I could be wrong.
