A LITTLE DEEPER:
PERSONALITY: Elio is a pretty easy going kid, who loves to be the centre of attention. He's quite loud and has always been the star of the show since his birth, when his mum took three and a half hours in labour over the midnight fireworks and he was born in the new year. He gets on well with his friends and family, and is reasonably open about his experiences. He wants to have fun but sometimes he doesn't realise his own limitations. He has a fear of heights, which when combined with his natural urge to climb, sometimes creates issues.

HISTORY: Elio is the eldest of two children of Kara and Leon Zephyr, with his little sister Isla born just over a year later. The family live in Amsterdam, where Elio and his sister attended their primary school before showing signs of magical abilities like their mother. He has always overshadowed his sister as he has always naturally gotten the most attention. He is very loud and excitable and often finds himself in trouble. He was gifted a camera from a family friend for his eighth birthday, and quickly found he enjoyed taking pictures of people and things when they were in their natural states. As a child he also realised he hates heights, but it's never stopped him from continuing to climb anything and everything. After his second year, his parents realised that his grades were slacking and he was spending more time goofing off than learning, so they transferred him to Hogwarts Scotland in the hopes that he would find a new set of friends, and be closer to home his parents support. Unfortunately for them, Elio rebelled against this idea, and his third year grades were the worst they had been thus far, and eventually his parents had to admit he needed to return to Hogwarts New Zealand if he were to pass his OWLs in a couple of years. Elio returned to his original school, and rejoined his sister, where he was delighted to get a second chance.

STRENGTHS: Elio is quick to make friends and is quite good at it, doing his best to make others feel included where he can. He's also artist and likes to experiment with his camera, and even though his skills aren't in the magical world he is still proud of himself.
WEAKNESSES: Sometimes Elio will accidentally overlook other people's work, and talk about his own achievements too much instead. Additionally he's quite vain and will spend a lot of time making sure he looks good, occasionally being late for things like classes because of it. He only just scrapes by on his grades, but he will try and improve this so that his parents don't take him out of school again.

FIRST YEAR

"I wasn't surprised I got sorted in Gryffindor, it does sound the most fun but I do wish you could share with everyone in your year and not be separated from your friends. There are some cool people here and there's lots to climb!"

Elio was sorted into Gryffindor, where he made friends with two of his dormmates. He also made friends with a number of students in his classes, including Avaria Lockwood. Elio joined Accio! in his first year as it gave him a chance to put his photography skills to use. He loved being part of this little exclusive group, and it gave him another opportunity to make new friends. He realised a lot of the students loved Quidditch but it wasn't something he could picture himself doing. Every time he gets on a broom he feels sick once he's in the air. Elio also met Jacob Kingsley and looks up to him as an older Gryffindor student.

SECOND YEAR

"Second year was so much fun. I had the best time with my new friends, and feel like I'm starting to settle in properly. For the record, Gryffindor are always the best.

Elio had a lot of interactions in his second year, and developed the friendships he had with his classmates. One person however that he didn't get on with was Analei Louw, after they have a cheer battle in the stands between a Quidditch match with Gryffindor and Hufflepuff (Gryffindor won) Elio is very competitive and while found this fun, he also found her very annoying. The second year didn't do very well in his classes because he was too busy playing around, which caused his parents to take him out of Hogwarts at the end of the year and move him to Scotland, in the hopes he would concentrate on his grades a bit more. This was also the year his sister Isla was sorted into Hufflepuff, but he isn't that close to her.

THIRD YEAR

"This whole thing is so stupid. If my parents think this is going to make me work harder they're so wrong and just need to give up now. This school is depressing and the people are no where near as nice at those in New Zealand."

At the end of Elio's second year, he found out that his parents had decided to transfer him to Hogwarts Scotland, believe that since his grades were failing and he wasn't doing as well as they hoped, that he was finding it hard to fit in. With Elio at Hogwarts Scotland, they also believed that he would be closer to home and it would be easier to help him with any issues he was going through. In truth, ever since finding out he was being moved, Elio made it his sole mission to get back to HNZ and his friends. Irritated that he'd lost them and his role in Accio! he spent the majority of his time at Hogwarts Scotland getting in trouble in classes, and failing even more miserably in his lessons, in the hope that it would make his parents see sense. It didn't think it was fair either that Isla was able to stay at HNZ while he had to move, and that he hadn't been given a chance to show he could change. In his second semester, he came close to being expelled after refusing to turn up to many of his classes, and his parents were forced to reevaluate, especially as this had been his year for electives. Ultimately after a long discussion they told him he could return to HNZ on the provision that he pull back his grades to at least Acceptable levels, and Elio had bounced back to his usual self, eager for the next year to begin.
