Though the summer sunshine was quickly fading as autumn began, Kahurangi was still pleased to have a comfortably warm day for the electives fair. The light filtering through the courtyard as she set up the usual tables for all the professors warmed her heart, and she hummed cheerfully as she worked. It wasn't long before the courtyard was lined with tables ready for the elective professors to ply their subjects, a sign indicating the subject covered at each table.

With the majority of the work done Kahurangi turned her attention to the table she would be sharing with Cyndi, setting up her side with pamphlets, bags of different kinds of runes for doing readings, a few books, and a necklace holder with pendants of a few of the more interesting bind rune combinations developed by her sixth year students over the years. Hinemoa, recently turned one, was spending the afternoon with her grandparents, leaving Kahurangi to devote her full attention to her job as she prepared to introduce young students to the possibilities Ancient Runes could open for them.

Yvonne had a soft spot for the electives fair. She arrived rather early and took up her spot at Divination table. She knew it would be quite a while before these second years would have her as a professor but if she could answer their questions and get them excited about the subject it would be only a matter of time before they fond their way into her classroom. Despite her uncertainty about putting down roots here in New Zealand she really did care about teaching and helping the kids find what they were passionate about.

It was Quinn's turn for presenting and sharing Arithmancy for the elective's fair this year and she was a wee bit excited for the fair. Even though she wasn't teaching Arithmancy to the third and fourth years, she was excited to meet them. She had organised herself the night before, making sure to have the things she needed for the fair. Quinn arrived a bit early, noticing she was one of the first professors to arrive and took her table and started to set up, placing a table cloth and a few charts onto the table. She knew the subject wasn't as popular as the others, but she had hoped a few students would hopefully take the subject.

Warren could not believe he was attending another Elective Fair to hopefully interest the younger students in Muggle Studies. He was sharing a table since of course he only taught the older years of students. This was one of the reasons he decided to accept the position in the first place. He was already the uncool father; he didn't even want to think about what would happen when any of his children had him as a professor as well. Although that seemed ages away, Warren realized that next year was already the year that his oldest daughter would be joining his class. Soon enough the rest of his children as well. The time just flew by. Yet Warren knew he could not focus on that right now. He had to set up his booth.

Warren had a rather large sign that read "MUGGLE STUDIES" above the booth. He never quite knew what to bring, but chose some of his favourite items from his classes. He placed a few muggle magazines on the table as well as some of the classic video game systems. Sadly these systems did not work anymore, but they were interesting to look at, or so he hoped. Warren made sure to bring a few of the more relevant items as well, such as the skateboard and a few muggle books that he had borrowed from his daughters. He wanted to also include some muggle instruments, but his son just would not part for them. Warren did not have the time to buy any. There is enough here though He thought to himself as he organized the table with the video games, magazines, skateboard, and books. Of course he made sure to leave room on the table for the muggle studies professor who taught the younger year students.

Professor Kingsley rushed into the fair but quickly slowed when she realized she wasn't as late as she'd believed. The woman headed for her designated table, greeting her colleagues as she walked and saving her biggest greeting for Kahurangi. She took her bag off of her shoulders and began to set up her part of the table, which didn't take long. Then it was just time to wait for the students to begin arriving. She enjoyed this event and the excitement that came with students learning about classes that hadn't been an option for them previously.

Eugene walked into the Great Hall, he'd seen the notice for the electives fair and had come to the electives fair. He glanced around spotting all of the classes that were on offer. He noticed the way all the stalls were laid out. He looked at the different stalls and read the names of the classes. He wasn't sure what would be good for him to pick. What he wanted to do. He liked music and he wasn't sure what else he wanted to do. He looked at muggle studies stall, and he didn't think he needed to do muggle studies though it could be interesting. He glanced around and spotted another stall with Divination and decided to head over to it. He looked at the different elements on the stall and then looked up at the professor at the stall. "What exactly is Divination?"

Charlie had been napping, enjoying the warmth of his bed. Unfortunately, he couldn't stay there. He had to head down to the club fair. He threw on a plaid over shirt, leaving it unbuttoned, and hurried down to the courtyard. He looked around, unsure of where to go amidst all the table. He smiled though as he spotted Eugene and walked over to his roommate. He reached out for Eugene's hand, stepping closer to the other boys side, hiding a bit behind him and smiling a little shyly at the Professor. He didn't speak, waiting to see what was going on before he said anything himself. @Eugene Nestor @Professor Yvonne Dubois

While Yvonne had been waiting for the students to arrive and approach the table, her restless nature couldn't handle sitting still so she took up the deck of tarot cards and started a quick reading. Familiar cards looked up at her but she quickly picked them up when she saw two boys hovering. She smiled first at the one who asked the question but also gave a small wave to the shy one. "Well Divination is a branch of magic that is used to try and discover knowledge of the future." she began. "It's a broad term that covers many different skills. Over the centuries we've discovered a lot of different ways to see into the future and understand the unknown. Many of those we cover in your time in Divination." she explained. There were of course some things they didn't teach at school like bone throwing or anything that had to do with animals, thankfully. @Charlie Helkovaara @Eugene Nestor

Celia had known what electives she would be taking during her third year for a while now. Ever since it had sunk in that she would be expected to finish out her schooling at Hogwarts, she'd mapped out her courses for all seven years, trying to figure out which path would set her up for the most success. The Electives Fair, then, was technically a waste of time. But it was mandatory, and she supposed she could take advantage of the time and get to know some of her future professors.

She scanned the courtyard, noting which subjects were where. Though Celia was most interested in Divination, the professors there seemed to be preoccupied with a couple of her classmates. So Celia decided instead to wander over to Ancient Runes. There was the added bonus that both those professors were heads of houses and were likely more important than the other professors. Turning to the head of Ravenclaw, Celia smiled. "Hi, I'm Celia. I've been interested in Ancient Rune for a while now—" an exaggeration, but the professor didn't need to know that, "—and I'm pretty sure I'll be taking it next year. Do you have any advice on how to make sure I make the most of the class?"

Elizabella walked here electric fair and looked for familiar face and find her best friend @Eugene Nestor and walked closer him. ''Hey!'' She shaked his hair a little. ''Hello'' She smiled other people who was talked with her friend. @Charlie Helkovaara

Eugene glanced as Charlie came up behind him and took his hand. He glanced down at the hand and then back at Charlie, before just looking back at the professor he'd asked the questions to. He nodded at what was being said, "Are there a lot of ways?" he asked somewhat nervously, he was worried about have to learn a whole bunch of things, it was probably spread out over the remaining years, but he was daunted. And he could spot the tarot cards too. "Is tarot reading....a thing?" he knew people who had cards, had seen movies about them, but he'd never...thought they were real. Perhaps there was yet more to learn in magic school. He glanced as Elizabella joined them, but moved his gaze back to the professor.

Charlie listened to the Professor, thinking it sounded interesting. He was probably going to just take whatever classes Eugene did. He had no idea what he wanted to do, so he would just stay close to his friend. He blinked, ducking a little more behind Eugene at the sudden addition of a girl. He just turned his attention back to the Professor, unsure what to say to the girl so opting not to say anything at all.

Yvonne nodded excitedly as the boy asked more questions. "Well it depends on what you consider a lot." she teased lightly. A lot of people tended to write off Divination as something easy or not worth their time to know. But there was just so much to the area of study it was nearly impossible to be an expert on everything. "But for example there's tasseography, which is the study of tea leaves, scrying, and yes tarot cards. And that's all before you even get to me." she explained with a grin. They did cover a lot of things through out all the different courses but she tried to not make it sound too overwhelming. She held up the deck she still had in her hands and fanned out the deck on the table. "Feel free to pick a card if you'd like and I can give you just a taste of what you'll cover." she said warmly and nodded to the shy boy behind him and the girl who seemed to have joined them. @Eugene Nestor @Charlie Helkovaara

Joseph was running a little late to the electives fair, but he didn't think anyone could blame in. Having to take care of creatures could create some unexpected circumstances after all. He made his way through the courtyard and toward the table selected for their class. He had discussed with Eleonora that even though he didn't teach the younger years Joseph would start setting up and she would join him later, so that's exactly what he did. He hung up some pictures of the larger creatures and placed down some flyers, along with some smaller items such as a Hippogryff feather and even a dragon scale he had gotten from one of his friends. When everything was set up Joseph removed the veils he had hung over two small cages on the table. One revealing a colourful, and succesfully silenced, Fwooper bird and the other an already grumpy Knarl. Content that their table was set up accordingly Joseph looked around, hoping to get some students excited for their class.

Eugene gave a nervous smile to the professor and then nodded along as she said a few things. He was glad she explained the word tasseography because he would not have known otherwise. He looked at the fanned out cards and then with a jerky nod took one of the cards. He turned it over, it said the sun on it, Eugene showed the card to Charlie briefly before holding it back out to the professor. He didn't know what that meant so he held it up to the professor..."The sun....?" he wasn't sure what that could mean.
@Professor Yvonne Dubois @Charlie Helkovaara

Charlie kept tucked behind Eugene, listening to the woman as she spoke. It sounded like an interesting enough class. He peeked at the card. "That's good, isn't it?" He asked softly, peeking up at Eugene. The sun sounded good, at least.

Yvonne smiled as the boy reached out and picked a card. She watched carefully as he showed it to the other boy with him before turning to show her. She hummed contently as he asked what it meant, and brightened as the shy boy finally piped up. "It is a good card." she confirmed with a nod. "It's important to now that each card had two meanings depending on which way the card is oriented." she began, not being able to help but turn this conversation to a lesson. Maybe this did prove being here and teaching was exactly where she was meant to be. "For example you pulled the card upright, which represents positivity, warmth, and fun." she explained. "Now, I'm not sure what else in your life that could be affecting this reading but I think it might mean you will enjoy this elective if you chose to take it." @Charlie Helkovaara @Eugene Nestor

Eugene gave a little smile as it seemed what he'd picked out was a good card. He would've felt pretty bad about picking a bad card and he certainly liked what the professor said about the card. He grinned a little at her final statement, appreciating in part the pitch she'd just given for her own class. "Okay, and this is divination," he knew they'd just be talking about it, but he decided to repeat the name so he knew what to look for and knowing it was this class. "Thanks professor," he said brightly. He moved to stand aside, and glanced to Elizabella and Charlie who had joined him, in case they had any more questions. "I'm maybe gonna head to that creature's class," he motioned to it. inviting them to join him if they wanted to.
@Charlie Helkovaara @Elizabella Drake

Charlie smiled shyly, nodding at the Professor and thanking her quietly before hurrying after Eugene. He wanted to keep the boys hand, a little unnerved by how many people were there. He was embarrassed by that, as a New Yorker he should be better with crowds. He wasn't sure what classes to take, but he was thinking he would just follow Eugene's lead and take whatever he did.
