Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.​

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Kylie had been told by Isaiah about the duelling club at Hogwarts and although the Ravenclaw knew it would be quite different from Brazil by all standards she was excited for this to begin. She pulled her hair up tight so it wouldn't get into her face and as she was called up to the stage she smiled, eager to begin. Once the Professor walked off the stage, she bowed to the girl she was duelling against as was customary in Brazil - hopefully New Zealand too. Afterwards she made her way to her side of the duelling stage and readied herself into the appropriate stance. As the duel began Kylie wasted no time and immediately casted, "Obscuro" towards Ailsa. It was a spell she had been working on in her private time and was quite confident it would help her to win if it landed.

Ailsa walked out to the side of the hall she was supposed to be at, she smiled at the girl she would be facing and then took a moment to centre herself, she wanted to do well in this, she wanted to fight well. The teen eventually bowed to the girl when she was supposed to and was a little surprised when the spell shot at her so quickly giving her no time to even properly defend herself and she took a small moment to realise how blocked her vision she was, but she quickly just shot back, sending a "Diffindo" she shot back.

Due to Kylie's opponents vision being blocked it took very little effort for her to not be hit by the spell, it was quite a relief too considering that spell was a nasty one. The Ravenclaw muttered, "Protego," towards herself for insurance then quickly attempted to disarm Ailsa, "Expelliarmus."

Ailsa was without her sight, but she knew from the lack of noise on the other side that the spell had been protect, and she listened carefully for the spell being returned, realising as she cast protego that it might just have been at the very last moment. Ailsa knew she would be better to get rid of the spell that was currently affecting her eyes and so that was what she did, casting a quick finite.

Thinking that Kylie could perhaps finish the girl off so she could perhaps have a second duel, she firmly casted, "Petrificus Totalus." If it landed, it would mean she would have less points than she'd like but she could still win and that was important to the Latina. The duel was not over yet, though.

Ailsa wanted to win this so once she had regained her sight, and was just in the nick of time able to protect herself from the spell, and with a brief moment to think before firing back, the Bat-bogey hex. While not the most lethal spell it would still be funny to see.

Foolishly expecting that Ailsa would have been hit by her last spell, Kylie hadn't given herself enough time to deflect the spell that was thrown her way. Before she knew it bats were attacking her from her face and she let out a scream, not out of fear but out of frustration. She hastily undid the disgusting and annoying spell.

Ailsa was somewhat satisfied when her spell hit the other girl, she figured this girl was likely better at duelling than she was, Ailsa wanted to win of course but she wouldn't have minded not. The teen noticed that the girl didn't cast a spell back and quickly followed it by casting, "Reducto," at the floor just at the girl's feet.

As Kylie was still trying to get the last spell off, she was blown back and landed hard on the floor and without even standing up yet she cast, "Stupefy" her frustration clear as she found her feet while the spell was still making it's way to Ailsa.

Ailsa was momentarily happy about the fact that her spell had landed and then forgot to pay attention to the girl in her moment of joy, enough to not notice the spell flying towards her, which knocked her out as soon as it touched. The next time she duelled she knew it would be in her interest to pay more attention.

Admittedly Kylie was very surprised to see that Ailsa had been hit by the spell. She had thought that it would be blocked more easily and yet the competitive duellist was able to keep her self-pride in her abilities longer. As poorly as she felt for knocking the girl out she managed a smile and stepped down from the duelling arena so that the Gryffindor could be tended to appropriately.

Kalif noticed that the Gryffindor was not getting the upper hand against the Ravenclaw. Eventually, the Ravenclaw won. He announced her the winner as he revived the stunned miss Evans and dismissed her.
