Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.​

Vulcan Zhefarovich was not really good at dueling, as much as he was just good at casting spells. He walked to his part of the stage, and bowed to his opponent named Zach Jordan. He stared at him and smirked. Oh, this was going to be fun. <COLOR color="firebrick">"Before we begin, let's have a riddle. What crackles and smells like burned flesh?" He waited a second before replying, "You! Or that Logan fellow. Incendio!" Vulcan cast the spell to make the Ravenclaw explode into flames.
