Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.​

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.

Of all the people she could have been duelling, it had to be Vladimir. Well, losing to Vladimir wouldn't upset her like losing to someone else would and she was pretty sure she was going to lose. She was more inclined to potions than she was to Defence Against the Dark Arts or even just Spells in general. Give her a potion and she'd deal you some heavy damage. She stood at the ready anyway, she was going to try and at least give him some semblance of a good fight, but she mostly joined out of boredom over anything else and she help no particular talent in this area. Vladimir Zhefarovich walked onto the stage, bowed and took his stance. The difficult thing for him was the fact that his mind was flooded with other things other than dueling. Other than this match ahead of him. His girlfriend was pregnant, and the fact was that he could barely focus on anything but that nowadays. However, he did not speak to the girl named Emilee. Instead, he cast, <COLOR color="darkgreen">"Incarcerous." Ropes flew from his wand, in order to render Emilee helpless.
