Dueling Match #6

[Professor Kalif Styx]

Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.​

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Calum was more than ready for his first duel at Hogwarts New Zealand. He had made sure to practice as much as possible even despite his arrogance. He wanted to show everyone that he was better than anyone they've ever came across and he was determined not to mess anything up. He walked up onto the platform along with a Gryffindor girl in his year. She looked weak and Calum smirked at her, knowing very well that he had enough confidence to beat her. When Professor Styx ordered the duel to begin, Calum began quickly. "Expulso." he said, pointing his wand straight at her.

Years of guitar practice had made Veronica kind of mellow. She didn't really feel strongly about anything these days, least of all duelling. Really the only reason she had joined was for a bit of fun, something she rather felt might have been a mistake when she noticed the look on her partner's face. He seemed rather determined and she remembered she'd heard something about his being a duellist or something. She smiled politely at him, though she felt he didn't care. His first spell was a major one and she frankly couldn't believe he was trying to blow her up. "Protego!" She immediately smiled at him. "Incarcerous."

If Calum's opponent really thought she was going to win she was in for a big surprise. He didn't care if she thought his first spell was a bit too much to start with because he had many more where that came from. From past experience he knew just how to handle these situations. "Protego." he said, easily brandishing his wand to block her spell. He then cast another spell. "Levicorpus."

Veronica blocked Calum's spell. This boy was really quite sour and Veronica really thought he needed to be cheered up a little, so with her every available happy thought, Veronica set out to achieve that with a quick, but calculated cheering charm.

Calum smirked when the girl blocked his spell yet again. But his smirk quickly disappeared when she tried to cast a cheering charm on him. "Protego!" he said rather angrily as he sharply waved his wand to get rid of it. "What's your problem?" She obviously thought he needed some cheering up but he didn't and so he didn't see the point of it. The whole idea of it aggravated him which meant she needed something in return. "Defodio." he said, hoping to cause her some pain.
