Professor Misha Haden had been a bit surprised to be asked to help out, he didn't often, but he didn't mind it. Though of course he was feeling a little more tired than usual with the boys keeping him awake. It was nice though, they were adorable. He looked at the two students whose duel he was overseeing. "Let's keep this clean," he said, before inviting them to get started.

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels. Duelers cannot cast spells at the spectators or face disqualification.

Demi hadn't expected to win her last duel, but now she had and realised she was up against none other than her best friend. "Lumi," She grinned, giving the Slytherin a polite bow. "Hope you're not planning on sending your bestest friend in the world to the hospital wing?" The Ravenclaw teased, readying herself. "Stupefy!" She shot her wand forward before Lumos had the chance to make the first move. Bestie or not, he was going down.

Lumos smirked at Demi, both relieved and slightly annoyed at being her opponent since now he would feel a bit sad about winning. Ah well. "Hospital wing? Now, now, Demi, you wound me. I’d never do such a thing…” he said, before quickly flicking his wand up to defend himself. He blocked her spell, amused. “But since you started us off so enthusiastically, it’d be rude of me not to return the favour.” Without missing a beat, he aimed his wand at his best friend, “Expelliarmus!” he called, hoping to catch her off guard. Best friend or not, he wasn’t going to make this easy for her.

Demi chuckled in response, the ease of which Lumos deflected her spell was not lost on her. She blocked his spell in return with just as much fluidity. "How could I not be enthusiastic, when I get to practice with you?" Demi grinned, "Expelliarmus!" It would help if he lost his wand early.

Lumos laughed, shaking his head at her. “Flattery will get you nowhere, Demi,” he teased, quickly raising his wand. “Protego!” The problem was they'd both had a bit of practice with other people now so they were able to bring their A game, as it were. He decided to press the attack before she could gain too much momentum. “Petrificus Totalus!” If he could slow her down that might be better.

"Wouldn't be so sure about that if I were you, Lumi," Demi retorted, blocking his spell once more. Perhaps it was now an overzealous sense of confidence but Demi wasn't going to let Lumos take the win if she could help it. She had enough siblings to know how to pace herself. She shot back another spell, trying to petrify him this time, not wanting to give him any let up.

"Oh I'm shaking," he said, blocking her spell again. He could feel the rush of adrenaline, she was fast, but he would be faster. Deciding to switch tactics, he smiled and cast the jelly legs jinx at her. If he could throw her off balance, it might give him the opening he needed.

Amory was a bit bummed he had to wait for his next duel until the third round, but oh well at least he'd have some time to stalk how his friends were doing. His first stop was Lumos' duel. He was against that other Zephyr girl, the one that had that list on her wall with his name on it once upon a time too. "Keep going Lumos! Show her how it's done!" Amory encouraged his roommate.

"You better b...woah!" Demi tilted forward as suddenly she felt as though her legs were weak and shaking below her body. Suddenly she was the one shaking, and it took all of her concentration to focus enough on the spell to end the jinx. She'd fallen to her knees, but once she'd ended the spell she felt as though she was good to stand again. She glared into the spectators as Amory called out, watching in surprise as her sister joined him.

"Bog off, Amory," Echo thwacked the Slytherin over the back of the head with her palm. Just because she wasn't old enough to duel didn't mean she wasn't going to support those who could. "Best save your energy for your next duel huh?" she added, before turning to her sister who was getting back to her feet.
 
Jonah stood off to the side, away from the loud yelling, his wand lit up with a small-powered Lumos, nothing that would cause a distraction because he wanted Lumos to win.​

Lumos couldn't hide his grin as Demi stumbled, clearly off balance. "Careful, Demigod," he teased, but he wasn't about to give her a reprieve. He noted Jonah and Amory, and Echolyn off to the side but does his best not to be distracted by them. "Accio wand!" He said, trying to press his advantage.

Demi wouldn't have wanted Lumos to go easy on her, so she was glad that he wasn't. She blocked his spell the moment she stood up straight again. "My friendship isn't enough for you, now you want my wand too?" She smiled, "Accio wand!" It took one to know one.

He chuckled, shrugging, “Well, if you’re just handing it over, who am I to refuse?” he raised his wand quickly to deflect her spell. Using his own against him. Rude. He was quite attached to his wand, thanks, it even had a name. "Rictusempra!"

Amory glared at the first year who had just tried to smack him on the back of the head. "I was here first so you can be the one to see yourself out." He said producing an apple from the pocket of his robes, what he had come prepared with a snack? "And oh yes, I am saving my energy I am here to simply observe." The Slytherin said with a grin as he bit into his apple, returning his attention to the duel.

"I love you Lumos but I don't love you enough to let you win," Demi smirked, blocking his spell with a flourish. "Rictusempra," She shot back just as fast, trying to keep the Slytherin on his toes.

"That doesn't mean a thing. Don't see your brother standing up there so if anything, you should be the one to leave." Echo retorted to Amory. He was almost as annoying as Ares. The arrogance that followed with him pulling a snack from his robes only made Echo roll her eyes. "Observe quietly then." Echo turned her head back to the duel, hoping he wouldn't give the Slytherin any more verbal outbursts if his word was true.

"Ah but you do love me," he confirmed, laughing. The laughter turned a little more problematic though as he realised he'd been hit by her spell, he struggled to finite it, but quickly managed it after a moment and then shook his head at her. "Accio shoes!" Maybe he could trip her.

Demi stifled a giggle when Lumos was hit with her spell, but it wasn't long until he'd fixed it. "You want my shoes?" The Ravenclaw said in disbelief, blocking spell once more. She paused for a moment, "Aight." Using her feet to pull out her heels, she proceeded to then kick both shoes off in quick succession, aiming for his head.

Amory slammed his free hand to where his heart lay on his chest, as though he'd been stabbed right there. "Oh no, Echolyn, that's where you are wroong. See Lumos here, he is as good a brother as I'll ever have. I mean never had one but we share a room, he pisses me off on a daily, I listen to his snoring and what else? I'd say it's close enough to a brother, sooo I think I'll stay thanks for the offer though." With a grin he continued on his apple and watching the duel where Lumos had just been hit by a spell that now made the poor guy laugh. Oh well. "Oh, but you were the one to speak to me first." Amory remarked without so much as looking at Echo this time. "Lumos if you wanted a pretty pair of heels you could of just asked me to go shopping yeah?" The Slytherin made a comment to his roommate who unlike himself was currently fighting for his life.
 
Misha watched the duel, and then noted the girl kicking off her shoes and aiming them right at the opponent. Without the use of magic, he quickly cleared his throat to get the attention of all those in the room. "Ms. Zephyr, this is a duel, kicking your shoes in Mr. Walden-Cade's direction, intentionally, disqualifies you, making Mr. Walden-Cade our winner."
 
Demi's head shot toward Professor Haden as he immediately disqualified her for kicking her shoes. What was it with Demi and her need for muggle methods to overpower magic? "I.." she looked back at Lumos. At least if she was going to lose to anyone, she was glad it was him. "Well, you'd better win for our year then," the Ravenclaw said, admitting defeated and jumping off the stage without recollecting her shoes.
 
Jonah may have admittedly did a little jump when Lumos won, but knowing that Lumos and Demi were best friends and that Demi lost by being disqualified, he doubted it would look very nice for him to be celebrating that hard. Still, he quickly made his way over to where Lumos would be exiting so he could greet him - maybe congratulate if he seemed like he was at least a little happy about the win. He may have also forgotten to turn off the little Lumos in his wand as he rushed.
