Edward had never supervised an underage dueling tournament before and he was interested to see how this tournament would play out. With his wand at the ready, he signaled for the first two opponents to step forward and take their positions. They were two third years who should know the drill by now. Once they were in position, he addressed both with firm encouragement. “Welcome to your first duel of the tournament. I expect to see good sportsmanship from both of you. When I give the signal, you will bow to one another and begin. Wands at the ready.” He looked between both of them before nodding. “You may begin.”

OOCOut of Character:
The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels. Duelers cannot cast spells at the spectators or face disqualification.

Buoyed by a win in the bronze medal play off, Ignatius wasn't about to let anything like a lack of dueling skill stop him from believing that he would carry over his luck success to the tournament. He bowed stiffly to Ivy, vaguely remembering losing to her previously, before launching a quick Stupefy.

Ivy was looking forward to the duelling tournament. she had won it last year and was back to defend her title. she watched the duels before hers and waited for it to be her turn slightly relieved by her opponent. but she just had to learn not to be complacent. just because hewasn a strong dueller didn't mean he couldn't get a good spell in. and one good spell could be a win or a lose.
when she was called on stage she bowed to the professor and to ignatious before raising her wand. deliberately delaying for a second to let him set the tone of the duel. she gave her wand a flick "protago" she said before waving her wand again and "expeliarmus" she said. not the most complex or high brow of spells. but a strong first move for sure.

If there was anything of 6 months of merciless bludger attacks that could be taken positively for Ignatius, it was that he was a little bit quicker now than he was a year ago. He was able to defend himself with a protego spell, silently wishing he could do that in training. He almost seemed a bit surprised by his own reflexes, and decided to fire off a trip jinx in response.

Ivy was a little surprised at how fact the boy had managed to defend her spell. as memories of her first dul last year were coming back. he had made a fuss that one of the spells she had tied on him should not be allowed. she smiled as she danced out of the way of his spell. she was really tempted to use that samespell again. but first maybe something a little more fun first. starting somewhat respectable she raised her wand and cast the Jelly fingers curse

There was no doubt that Ignatius was better than he had been last year. He wasn't exactly setting the world on fire, but there was a marked improvement in his dueling. At the very least, he could move a little faster. And maybe was less inclined to complain, having had to just accept all the bruises from training as it wasn't as though the captain cared enough to do anything about it. Nor would his parents do much about it, with how weird they were acting this year. Oh, right, he was supposed to be dueling. He dodged the spell in turn, not quite fast enough to block it with a defensive spell but at least light enough on his feet to barely avoid it, and looked at Ivy with as haughty a look he could manage while gasping for air. Maybe broom speed didn't translate as well to physical speed as he thought. "Tarant-haaaa...tarantellagra!" he managed to get out, though it was a little lacking in force.

Ivy smiled as ignatious had to dodge her spell though maybe it was slightly hypocritical thinking as she had just dodged his though her dodge had been intentional, a comment on the spell he had cast.dancing legs that would be an interesting thing to experience. maybe she could get someone to cast it on her at some stage, though she would rather not see what it was like in a duel environment. She waved her wand "protago" she said. "youseem really invested in what my feet are doing right now" she said wondering if it was a ploy or if it was just the spells that came to mind. Ivy then waved her wand to cast her next spell "Rictusempra

Ignatius caught his breath...only to get hit squarely in the stomach with Ivy's spell. "Ha...shhhh-hahaha...shut uhuhup!" he whined pathetically between gasps of laughter, only barely keeping a hold of his wand still due to the extra seeker training. Ignatius had a horrible sense of deja vu. Not again! But he was stronger and hardier, kind of, and he wouldn't lose to the same spell again. Maybe. He tried to shoot back a jelly brain jinx, but either between the laughter or his own lack of skill all that really shot out was a very feeble jolt of a spell that would be incredibly easy to block, if it even had any real effect.

Ivy watched as her spell hit leaving ignatious in the throws of a laughing fit. "it wasn't that funny" she said though she too was smiling slightly. she waited for a return spell which came in the form of a jelly brain jinx which was easy to block with a protago. the dual was defiantly going in her favour now. and she knew what spell to cast next. probably not the strongest contended. but it was nostalgic, for last years sake. "Accio wand" she said pointing her wand at ignatious and focusing on his wand hoping it didn't reach to all the rest of the wands in the audience.

Ignatius thought he was in some sort of nightmare. This was going exactly the same way it had last time and it felt as though he was powerless to do anything to stop it. He should have learned his lesson, but unfortunately he wasn't the brightest and lessons were pretty hard to learn sometimes. He desperately tried to cling to his wand while the other hand held his stomach, as he doubled over in laughter. Unfortunately, despite his grip having gotten that bit stronger from desperately holding on to his broom while being pelted with bludgers, it wasn't quite enough and it slipped out of his hand. He was laughing, but the corners of his eyes stung with hot, angry tears from exertion and he hunched over, frustrated, laughing, and wandless.

With the duel finished, Edward did not see any reason to prolong Ignatius' suffering. Stepping in, he reversed the Tickling Charm's effects. Aside from a likely bruised ego, he seemed unharmed. Turning to the other student, Edward gave a nod then announced, “Congratulations. Ivy Cullen you are the winner. Please return Mr Wolffort's wand to him before leaving the platform.” He was running behind schedule and needed it clear for the next duel.
