Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.
OOCOut of Character:
All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
Oh, and the duel begins now. Also, if someone doesn't post after 24 hours, then they are disqualified.

Ellington Hayes, was really quite excited for her first dueling match. Apart from the fact that her father had taught her everything she knew and that she wasn't going to go down with out a fight, because her father would hex her himself if he ever found out, which he would because one of her siblings would surely tell. The person she was fighting was going to have to work for it, that was for sure. Stepping up onto the podium, Ellie bowed slightly to the other person, but she made sure to keep her eye on him the whole time, knowing he could very well just randomly shoot at her with little to no notice. She hoped that didn't happen, she wanted to enjoy herself, not defend her life. Soon, she straightened up and decided to start the show off with a simple spell. Though seeing as she was only a second year, most spells were "simple". "Locomotor Mortis!"

Ivaylo Zhefarovich-Dolohov was more than ready to duel. He had been waiting for a while and now he was facing a Gryffindor that he did not know. As a courtesy, he bowed before he took his stance. She cast an odd spell, something that just locked legs together. He was hit, but he quickly cast Finite upon himself, and then glared her down. He intoned, "Petrificus Totalus!"
Action(s) Taken: Be hit, Cast spell twice.

Ellie did not cheer when her spell hit, instead she maintained her concentration, as she knew that this could still go either way. The boy cast a spell and she immediately deflected it, before casting another. "Stupefy." She was not going to let him win easily.
Action(s) Taken: Spell Success, Defence, Offence.

A stupefy was cast, and Ivaylo threw up his shield spell once more. A simple protego. He wished he was older so that he knew more spells. Ivaylo quickly cast, "Petrificus Totalus!" toward the Gryffindor girl, hoping to make this quick and easy.

Ellington gripped her wand stubbornly. "Protego." The spell was deflected, and she once again aimed her wand back at her opponent. "Expelliarmus!"

Ivaylo could tell that the girl seemed a little stubborn. That was cool. He loved it when people were stubborn. He was similar. He waved his wand and threw up a protego before he shot a stupefy in her direction. He really wished he had more destructive spells under his belt right now.

A stupefy was heading her way and to shake things up, Ellie just side stepped it. She was lucky though, because she was quite a quick little mover. "Petrificus Totalus!"

Ivaylo saw another spell heading his way. Ivaylo quickly threw up another protego. He waved his wand and said, "Expelliarmus!" He hoped to have this in the bag here soon. It would be nice to win a duel.

Ellie's stubborn streak was entirely the fault of her father. It was also annoying that this boy just wanted to end the duel. What was the point of even duelling if all one wanted to do was knock out their opponent. Ellie rolled her eyes. It was so stupid. If he wasn't going to at least try, then nor was she. His Expelliarmus was quickly deflected and soon Ellie was throwing another spell at him. "Stupefy!"
Action(s) Taken: Cast Spell, twice.

Finally, she was showing some spunk, as Ivaylo waved his wand and deflected the spell away from him with a Protego. Dueling wasn't fun and games. No, it meant overpowering another. Ivaylo was serious about dueling as it ran in his family. He sent a good powered banishing spell toward her, to banish her from the platform.

Ellie frowned as the boy deflected her next curse. It was time to change tactics then. She was only more sure of her thoughts when the boy tried to banish her. Well that was annoying. "Protego!"

Now this was just getting boring! She only defended herself. Nothing was shot toward him. He sighed and lazily waved his wand, shooting a verbal Stupefy at her. Now that would be a funny way to win.

Ellie could tell that the boy was being lazy now. Just because she decided to move to the defensive. So what. Glaring at him, Ellie decided she didn't like this boy. "You think you're so clever?" Somewhere in the back of her mind, Ellie could hear her fathers voice, telling her to shut her mouth and not talk to the "enemy", but Ellie felt it needed to be said. Before casting a shield to protect herself.
Action(s) Taken: Defended herself.

Ivaylo felt somewhat bored now. She was just defending herself. That was all. He let out a sigh, and wondered if the room would be a little more lively with some laughter. Waving his wand, he intoned, "Rictusempra!" The spell shot toward the girl, wondering if it would hit or not.

Ellie watched as the boy's spell flew toward her. She was about to block it, only she miscalculated and the spell hit her in the shoulder. Immediately Ellie started laughing and nearly dropped her wand. But she had this happen to her once when she was practicing with her dad. She slowed her breathing and concentrated really hard. "F-Fin... Fin-ite." She knew it hadn't quite come out correctly and so she had to breath again, trying not to laugh, but it was very hard. "Finite." She finally got it. But she was sore now, from laughing so hard.
Action(s) Taken: Hit by Spell, Cast Spell

Ivaylo noticed that his spell hit, but the girl continued to not fight back. He gave out a sigh, knowing that what he thought he had to do would destroy his chances with his tournament. "You know, since you obviously aren't going to fight back, you really don't know between practicing defensive spells in Defence Against the Dark Arts and dueling. I'm done! I'm done with practicing for class." Ivaylo threw his arms in the air and hopped off the platform. He almost felt bad for Professor Styx, but oh well. He was fed up at this point. He left.
Action(s) Taken: Spell Successful, quit.
Point Changes: <COLOR color="red">-20
Points Remaining: 85

Professor Styx appeared to be slightly annoyed when the duel ended like it had. It truly showed no passion. He decided to add something the next time the tournament continued, to prevent this from happening. He announced, "Due to a forfeit, Ellington Hayes wins."
