The afternoon drove Artemis Jackson insane for now. She was already in the verge of dropping dead anywhere when she reached the Slytherin Dormitories as she looked all over her four poster bed that had the Slytherin emblem on the sheets. It was a small mark, but it still was visible to her blue eyes. Artemis sighed as she kicked her school shoes out of her tired feet, that were already feeling sore with all the walking, back and forth from the classroom to the Great Hall then to the library for some research. The days were coming to an end and she still haven't even decided for her electives yet! Her small frame dropped itself on the side of the bed, feeling the cold sheets pressed upon her tired face holding a tired expression. Artemis longed the cold feeling all day and it was almost four o'clock in her wristwatch. She wanted to feel free and break loose all those chains that held her back to study and study. The feeling of air and freedom, it was just an inch away and the blonde almost knew what she needed. Relaxation, but it was in a different form. The blonde craved for some air, fresh air that was almost near the clouds. Instantly, she jumped up and dressed into her Quidditch robes that she needed for practice. She did not bother to bring the gear, for the blonde knew that no accident would happen again. Artemis snatched her broom that was lying still near her bedpost, and shut the door loudly behind her as she set off to the Quidditch Pitch. The heat was bearable, thankfully, but there were lesser winds than before. The witch frowned as her legs carried her to the place where she desperately needed to go.

Sunlight was indeed everywhere and it was burning Artemis' pale skin. For a moment, she thought of proceeding back to the Slytherin Common Room would be a better idea, but she quickly stepped forward before she could stop herself. Artemis took in everything that was around her. The sky had a few clouds, the wind was calm and went by now and then. Smiling, she mounted her broom right in front of the entrance and zoomed into the sky, not caring whether she mounted correctly or not. As she flew, she held herself steady, not daring to swerve herself. Artemis immediately flew to the hoops of Slytherin in the Pitch and from there, she started doing one complete lap.

Daniel loved the sunlight, it seemed to fill him up with energy, and right now, he needed it. Contacting ones spirit animal was always a difficult task, especially when that someone was in a magical school, far from their spirit animals shrine and without their spirit bones. Since Rhia was a Raven, surely some flying would be suitable, even if Daniel was not a good flyer, he was going to try anyway, he needed to think about things, he needed to clear his head for a few minutes... but it was virtually impossible, he was too hyperactive to sit still long enough to really try and contact Rhia, it was slightly annoying. He sighed and ran along the lawns of Hogwarts New Zealand, his destination: Quidditch Pitch. Plan: Borrow school broom and fly till he either 1) crashed and died or 2) Contacted his spirit guide and got answers.

Daniel borrowed one of the school brooms quietly. Thankfully, they were not that bad in fact, they were quite good, so he didn't mind borrowing one, especially since if he got a broom of his own, it would lay around gathering dust. He was grateful that the sun did not bother him much, his tanned skin was very hard to burn, he was always out in the sun, and his Native American heritage saved his skin from such an uncomfortable state. He held the broom out in front of him, this time he was going to stay on for at least five minutes, he was not going to spiral towards the ground, he was not going to accidently slip off his broom and he was definately not going to slam into the rings, he was not a Quaffle, so he was not going to share their fate, hopefully. ''Here goes nothing...'' he muttered, hopping on the broom and flying into the sky, he was unbalanced and could feel the broom wobbling under him, but he had yet to lose full control, though it looked like it was going to happen soon. He was so preoccupied with not dying, that he did not realize that he had flown into the flight line of someone else.

The hoops of the Slytherin and Ravenclaw were so close that Artemis Jackson held out a pale arm to touch and feel its texture. For the longest time she could remember, the last time she saw these hoops were when the SlytherClaw versus GryffinPuff game had begun and ended. Artemis smiled in memory of the game and swooped to the central hoop where she knew, their Ravenclaw Keeper guarded. Artemis touched it again and let go after a few seconds, as she challenged herself to do one round. The Chaser started to fly, picking up speed as she reached the end of the South Pitch, moving closer to the North side. Her hands were beginning to feel the power of the broom, beneath her that was obeying her every command. To speed up, to slow down, and to dive. Her only problem is, to fly in a high altitude immediately. The gravity was to much to take, and she usually needed to stop just to take control, and fly upwards. Artemis put on a face of perseverance and determination, as she gripped her broom in a more relaxed way. There was nobody to stop her, since almost everybody was studying in the library or in the dormitories. Some were even studying in the Great Hall for some afternoon snack. The blonde shook her head, refusing to come down and get a snack for herself. Flying was something she truly missed, and the walk from the Slytherin Dorms to the Pitch was no easy work to do.

The sound was different when Artemis reached the North Hoops. It was a sound of turbulence and immediate danger. Quickly, she looked to her side as she saw a boy, about her age, going towards her direction. His broom looked like the ones that she saw in the broom cabinet where all the stored brooms for practice were kept. Artemis knew that he was no less than ten feet before her way and immediately swept down to avoid his uncontrolled broom. Artemis looked back up at the boy, who seemed to have a difficult time and said, "Watch it." Her tone was as cold as the ice as she said it, and quickly averted her eyes to the direction of the boy. Artemis hated it when people who had bad skills at flying interrupted her practice, and this boy was one of the perfect examples that she had in mind. The Slytherin flew away, not looking back to the boy who she did not know, was following her or not. To make sure, she sped up and tried reaching for the South Hoops before the boy even made it towards her way again. Artemis leaned forward, her blue eyes fixed on the faraway hoops.

Envy. It was not an emotion Daniel was familiar with, he was usually far too happy to ffeel such a negative emotion, but right now he was in a rare state of mind. Concentration. It was new and slightly confusing for the hyperactive Hufflepuff, but it usually happened when trying to contact his spirit guide, since an awful lot of concentration was involved, it was ridiculous, but necessary, if it were simple to contact ones spirit guide, they would not mean anything. It took a lot of concentration to get a spirit guide in the first place, and it required a trained elder, such as daniel's grandmother and aunt, his cousin was learning the ways of a dream-walker too, Daniel had tried, and he wasn't that bad, but the whole sitting still part made it hard for him to do. He sighed slightly as a girl zoomed past him, he was 'watching it', that did not make it any easier for him to get out of her way, but it did make him feel a little better, now he had ssomeone to talk to,. And if there was something Daniel loved to do, it was talk. Talking was the greatest past time ever, it was so much fun and you could get to know someone really well. Now that, in Daneil's eyes, the girl had started a conversion, she was most likely going to regret it for the rest of time, because Daniel was a very talkative and positive person. "What's your name?" He asked, flying towards her, his balance was a little better, but he was still uncomfortable, he really was a ground person.

But the ground was not going to help him get in touch with Rhia, nor would it enable him to talk to this stranger, she didn't look older than him, though it could sometimes be difficult to tell. But he was sure he had seen her, they did go to the same school, so it was natural that he would have seen her wondering around. But a name? That was far ttoo much to ask of the young Hufflepuff, to his knowledge he had never spoken to this girl in his life, so he had no idea what her name was. "I'm Daniel" he said, remembering that society made it appropriate to say ones name after asking for someone elses name. Sometimes he forgot stages of conversation from excitement of the conversation, just a quirk he possessed.

Interruptions were one of the things Artemis hated when she had to practice her flying. She was a girl, but that did not mean that she deserved no respect. Artemis knew that what she was doing was correct for now. Her inner Slytherin was beginning to grow through the years. It was the influence of pretty much all the Slytherins that surrounded her all the time. Artemis gave herself a small smirk, with what she had done to the poor boy who had no skill on balancing himself on a broom that held him up to fly, that is, momentarily for sure. The heat was irritating the blonde so badly and for that, the boy needed to taste some of her feelings towards everything except her broom and the air that was around them. Artemis bit her tongue softly, swearing to herself that she would never curse out just for the heat that was almost burning her own skin. What was it like? seven hundred degrees Fahrenheit? She could have exaggerated her thoughts, but that likely did not matter right now. When she sped up though, Artemis heard an unfamiliar voice, asking her a question. "Eh, do you really have to know?" Artemis did not slow up her speed, and did not care whether the boy heard it or not. She was slightly irritated, and maybe a little argument would not hurt to show of her insulting skills. The blonde Slytherin slowed down to catch up with his sentence and heard it. Goodness, the boy couldn't help but just blabber everything he wanted to say wasn't it? She nodded understandably and resumed her flying once more. Not that she meant to be rude, but Artemis wanted to catch up with what she had missed.

Daniel tilted his head, he didn't know why the girl was negative, how could anyone be negative on such a lovely day, it was so bright and sunny, Daniel was loving it, like he was a plant, he thrived on sunlight, acceptence, happiness and conversation, who cared about food and drink? He smiled brightly, hopefully his happiness would fly from him and land on the girl he was talking to, she looked like she needed to be happier, in daniel's opinion. She seemed bent on doing her flying thing, it was just silly, how could she not want to relax and talk? Was she that strange? ''Yes, knowing someone name is always important when talking to someone!" He called, still smiling happily, he didn't understand that the girl might want to fly by herself and practice in peace, as in, without Daniel's happy chattering, or his bad flying skills, which were still showing themselves as he flew towards the girl, he had the speed to keep up with her, but the control was something pathetic, but he still managed to reach his desired destination, closer to the girl so he could talk with her without having to scream his lungs out.

For such a good time to practice, Artemis scowled deeply, disappointed by this boy's imperfect timing. She was so focused and desperately wanted to train herself to improve her speed and her dives, but this boy was just following her like a little puppy to his master. Artemis knew that it was intentionally, since it was so obvious to her the need for a conversation for him. It was just plain ridiculous though. People having a conversation while flying would only happen when there is a game or not. The blonde looked at him for a moment, making her realise that the boy was surely a year older than her. Two years, perhaps. She narrowed her eyes through the wind that was pushing forth, he seemed to be testing her patience. "But that certainly does not apply whenever someone needs concentration." She answered him with a testing smirk, leaned forward and zoomed away from him. Artemis surely had more speed than him, but just going faster would make him talk to her more, which would definitely be irritating. Was he a stalker of some kind? If ever he was, then he was quite a bad one. The Slytherin gripped her broom, looking at only one thing; The South Hoops. She was only halfway through the entire Pitch when she heard that same sound again, and this time, she wanted to make her statement clear. The blonde was very irritable at the moment, because of the heat and the desire to be alone for this very day. Probably her mood swings would last until the evening. Artemis did not care though, since, she preferred being alone nowadays.

Blue eyes immediately narrowed greatly at the boy who seemed so energetic for his own good. Artemis gave him a little glare, as he caught up with her. That certainly was not her fastest and she was not surprised with his little action. "Don't test me, boy," She ordered him in the previous cold tone that she had warned him moments ago. Just a few little precious seconds being alone, and there he was again? That totally sucked, big time. Artemis wanted to punch him, but losing her control over the broom was definitely the last thing she wanted to happen. The irritated blonde gave him a glare that she hoped he feared, and glared back at her own direction, going towards the South Hoops. "unless you're willing to stay quiet and mind your own business." She told him again, speeding up a little to test if ever he really wanted to talk to her. Artemis rolled her eyes when he was not looking, and tried to remain calm over him.

Daniel was curious. It was strange, it was such a lovely day, how could she be so sour? How could she not be enjoying herself under this wonderful sun, it was a nice warm day and all Daniel wanted to do was make a friend, he made it his mission to make a friend out of this young blode girl who remained unnamed. He had no idea that she didn't want to talk to him, who could ignore such a happy kid? His happy smile was impossible to ignore, sometimes people found it great that he was so happy All. The. Time. He flew towards her, he wasn't sure if she realised it, but he was slowly getting her to talk to him more, this made him happy, even though the girl was angry, she was still talking with him, it was so nice. Well, that's how Daniel saw it, the naive Hufflepuff didn't realise that he was annoying the girl. "Why work when it's such a lovely bright day?" He asked, still wearing his hapoy smile, it was always on his face, he barely frowned.

Daniel kept within talking distance of the girl, just so neither would bbe forcsed to scream. But what she said next made him laugh. Was she suggesting that he stay quiet? That was impossible, that was far too hard for him to do. He shook his head. ''Or you could stop flying and we can talk!" He suggestion excitedly, his honey brown eyes dancing with happiness. ''How 'bout it?"olor]

For the love of Merlin! Artemis just wished that Daniel (was that his name, by the way?) would fall and lose control on his broom. As what she saw, he actually was trying to control his broom and the broom did not obey him entirely. His balance was only going to last for a few minutes, but definitely not hours. For Artemis, it took exactly over five months just to keep steady in the air. And that five months were continuous training everyday with her father that did a lot for a living. Her muggle mother disliked the idea of Artemis flying on a broom. Until now, she still could not believe that magic is really real, Artemis thought, for once, distracted by her thoughts instead of the irritating boy. Gwyneth Jackson was a lady of manners, and sports were just not her kind. Artemis slowly sat up erectly, and relieved herself from the pressure her hands were giving her. The blonde Slytherin looked back at Daniel, stared at him peculiarly, wondering why in the world was he following her. "Because it's a weekly habit of mine." She answered back curtly, not even turning to his direction. Artemis could tell that she really had no chance of getting rid of them. She just hoped that this would be the first and last day that she would get to meet Daniel, a super odd boy who loves annoying people. Oh, what a lovely boy. If that was his way of making way for himself to the ladies, then he would miserably fail throughout his lifetime to meet a woman to wed.

Laughter hung in the air, for a long moment that seemed like twenty seconds. But of course, it was less than that. Artemis did not even turn back, as she focused her attention. Her speed immediately slowed down, preparing to take flight, as fast as she could to go to the other part of the Pitch. It would take her what, ten seconds? Artemis inhaled then exhaled and then answered the boy, regarding his useless question that would not certainly work on the thirteen year old Half Breed. "Not a good idea, to be honest. How about minding your own business?" Artemis asked Daniel sarcastically, hoping he would get her point of leaving her alone. Merlin, the heat was definitely killing her! Twenty laps were her goal for today and she did like what, three or two? Plus, there was a boy following her path. The pain in the arse, he was. Artemis gave him a little glare, and did her previous action. Inhale then exhale. For a moment, she thought that maybe she could just go down to the ground to have her moments of peace to herself, but she stayed put. Artemis flew, to the fastest speed that she could do, willing her broom to move faster. Artemis would have probably surprised the boy, but that did not matter to her at all.

To any normal person, it was obvious that the girl did not want to talk, she just wanted to practise her flying aand it was too clear that she wanted to be by herself for what eve reason. But who said that Daniel was normal? No-one. So Daniel missed the vital clues that were thrown at him, he missed her glares and her totone of voice because he was sso cheerful today, nothing could tear him down, he was just too hhappy to let such a thing like negativity ruin his mood. So he simply nodded when she explained that flying wwas aa weekly habit. ''So you come out here all mby yourself?" He asked, tilting his head llike a little puppy in thought. ''Don't you get lonely?" He asked curiously, he could batrely be alone for two seconds without feeling lonely, he was just a ssociable person ththat nneeded conversation tto stay happy and perky, and unfortunately, he hhad decided that this girl seemed nice and looked interesting, he wanted to talk to her, to get to know heher and tto ppossibly make a new friend, because nnpew friends were aalways nnice! Well, in Daniel's opinion anyway.

Daniel flew faster to match her speed, so he could hear what she was saying, but he missed it, he was quite sure because he thought he saw her mouth move, but the words did,t reach his sensitive esrs, the wind was blowing away from hhim which meant that the sound of her voice flew away with it, but this dididn'tt make him frown, because he was far ttoo happy to allow such a thing as that to ruin his day, besides, it was hhard fofor hhim to be angry uunder uupsuch a magnificent sun! When he was about to speak, he had a quick burst of loss of control of his broom, this made him topple off it, the only thing that was saving him was his upper arm strength, the good thing was that he was strong enough tto pull himself back up onto his broom with relative ease, the bad thing? The broom did not want him to hop back on, at all. So when he swung himself up, the broom seemed to have a mmind of its own and moves slightly, making his attempt to regain his posture fail, this sent him toppling towards the ground. ''Whoa!"

It was just simply amazing that Artemis responded when the boy answered her. Artemis was used to practicing alone and having some odd company definitely ripped her mind apart. Aside from just breathing heavily, she too hoped that this boy was not going to make it with her as she lapped the whole Pitch for at least a minimum of fifteen rounds. Artemis continued to fly freely, but the thought of having a puppy following her back made her immediately think that she was jailed with such an odd person to be with. He asked numerous questions and cannot even fail to smile at her. Artemis wondered, whether he was just there to entertain himself and using her as a toy. But with all the strangeness that he was showing off, the idea just vanished completely, replaced by an idea that Daniel was simply a guy that was one person Artemis never wanted to be with. "Who feels lonely when they actually need the loneliness?" Artemis asked and snorted softly, as hauled herself completely to a stop, and continued to breath normally. Being in the air was such a feeling of happiness and pride. Blue eyes sparkled with pride and satisfaction for a moment, but the latter faded when Artemis heard the boy following her route. Artemis preferred being alone nowadays. It kept her mind off things and Daniel, this hyperactive boy was just spoiling her own fun.

Artemis smirked, very proudly, and flew even faster to get away from that odd student. What a shame, he could have been a good friend to her if ever he would just stop asking question and erase that horrible smile of his features. Did not he get that Artemis was being sarcastic and has been trying to prove her point ever since he started conversing with her? Artemis flew, with the dry wind whipping her definitely messy blonde hair and bit her inner cheek when she reached the hoops. Definitely, she only had fifteen seconds to go there and that needed more improvement. Artemis scowled at her performance, willing herself to practice even more when the next week comes. She circled the hoops in a speed that she slowed down almost immediately and touched it again, just like with the same thing she did with the North Hoops. Ears on the prowl, the Slytherin just heard a certain expression that truly caught her off balanced, but regained it immediately as she recovered from shock. "Idiot!" Cursed the blonde, as she swept through the central hoop just to save the boy who went falling on the floor. Revenge, certainly was sweet and she just got it. Artemis was no evil person, but a little mood swings caught her off guard, resulting everything to this.

Almost immediately, the Sienna Storm flew towards the boy who had a chance of hurting his precious smile if ever he would crash on the ground. They were quite a few high, probably more than thirty feet if ever. The fall was really going to hurt, and Artemis just shook her head and went to the boy, willing her broom to move faster than ever. Just in time, Artemis grabbed the boy by his arm and dropped him on the floor, that was probably eight or seven feet below them. It was still a pretty high height, but the blonde was no good in saving people. Artemis was knowledgeable on how heavy this guy might be, and if ever she attempted to put him on her broom, then both of them could crash simultaneously. Artemis hovered above the air, looking at him from above if ever he was hurt or not, with a great scowl on her pale and blonde features. That eejit! The thirteen year old narrowed her eyes at him, not even offering to get his broom that was stuck up there. Daniel would have probably gained a few bruises but did she care? No, not at all. Artemis did her best to save his planned crash and what she did was something she considered as a nuisance for her practice.

Interestingly enough, the things going through Daniel's head were not. "Oh dear Merlin I'm going to die!" or "Goodbye cruel world!", nope, in fact, he was thinking around how nice the wind was flowing through his brown hair, it felt really good. Not that he wanted to continue falling until he met the ground, that wouldn't be fun, and the Hufflepuff did understand that if he hit that ground at this speed, things would not be so peachy for him as they have been previously, if he even survived. But these thoughts didn't stay in his mind too long, because he was too preoccupied witht he wind and the broom he had borrowed, which sat in the sky, suddenly deciding that now it was going to stay put like a good little broom.

When someone grabbed his arm, just a few metres off the ground, and then let go of him again. He hit the ground with a slam and laid there for several seconds, his hyperactive brain processing the current events. He sat up and stretched slightly, seemingly unfazed by the fall, though he was in some pain, he didn't show it. He was sure that the left side of his body was going to be bruised, that was for sure, considering he had landed on that side. But luckily his head was uninjured, which meant no headache, which meant no frown. If Daniel had a headache, that world knew about it because he could never bring himself to smile and hop around. He looked up at the girl who had kindly saved him. That would be a big mistake for her, Daniel now saw her as a friend, which meant more smiling and talking, something he loved to do, but had no idea she loathed. "Thanks!" He called, hopping up and brushing himself off, ignoring the pains in his shoulers, lower back and legs, why would he let such a thing as pain wipe off his smile? He had fallen out of trees before and hopped right back up, ignoring any pain he received, it was just pain, being happy was so much more fun, he jumped back to previsously in their conversation, deciding to answer her question. "And to answer your previous question. I think that no-one should be alone, even if they need loneliness, everyone needs to talk, and everyone needs company, even if they don't realise it." He said, still flashing a smile, one that hid the pain the flowed through his body.

The teenager hated seeing blood and just thinking about the dark red liquid made her stammer and have her heart beating a million times per minute. Artemis looked at the far edge of Pitch, recovering from the fast events that just came by. The sun was still present which made the blonde frown immediately. She actually waited for the night to come, just to experience the cool air that it never failed to bring. Artemis eyed the bird that flew by and made a squawking sound. Their voices were quite unique and creative yet some people failed to notice how beautiful their appearance were. Artemis took away her eyes from the direction and slowly looked at the ground, her lips slightly ajar and her blue eyes filled with surprise and shock. Such a pain in the arse he was and he was still alive. A simple reflex caught Artemis in the web but she certainly knew that this was just going to the be the first time she would talk to the boy. Artemis knew anyways, that the boy had no idea on what her name was, "Thanks?" Questioned the blonde politely, ignoring the irritating feeling that was already in her chest that was rising rapidly. Artemis flew a little nearer to Daniel, probably a few feet higher than him, and went to him behind his back. The blonde faced him curiously from above, her blue eyes sparkling once again with curiosity that she definitely could not keep any longer. "You aren't hurting? That's... shocking. " The pause between her latter sentence was a little lengthy and it took several seconds for Artemis to find the correct words without offending the hyperactive boy. Daniel did not even know that she was already being sarcastic to him, and what more did it take when she uttered something incredibly unbelievable. "You know what, I could give you a hand just to go to the Wing, but you better shut up while we go there." She offered him, with a tone that was gentler than her previous ones. Artemis ignored his last statement regarding her rhetorical question.

Daniel looked at his hand curiously when he saw a little bit of blood, nothing too massive though, just a small cut, probably from one of the various rocks he fell on, in all honesty, he would have expected more damage, but no, he was just lucky enough to have nothing more then a few cuts and bruises, he didn't think he had any broken bones, or any life threatening internal damage, so he was back to his peachy, sunshine, skittles and rainbows self, much to his delight. "For stopping my death." He clarified. Just because he was happy, all. the. time. It didn't mean that he didn't recognise sometimes that he was capable of dying, he wasn't completely stupid. He tilted his head slightly, he did this often, just a habit he got when he was a child and it just stuck and it just happened whenever he considered something. "I'm just... lucky I suppose." He said, shrugging slightly. Probably not the best thing to do, shurgging, the pain shot through his shoulders, it wasn't pleasent, but didn't remove the smile. He was talking and the sun was still nice, though the heat was starting to be replaced with the chill of night.

He thought about the girls suggestion, the hospital wings would be good right now, but he didn't really like the hospital wing, he wasn't allowed to run around and talk in there because apparently he would 'distrub the peace', that was just silly, most people were already asleep in the hospital wing, which meant that they would not be able to hear him, or they were moaning in pain or complianing about the potions, which meant that there was alreayd noise, equaling no peace to disturb. He shook his head. "No, the hospital wing can live on without me, I'm not that injured, just a cut hand." He explained, showing the girl his hand that had a little bit of blood on it, he decided that he wouldn't mention the multitude of bruises that were surely forming under his shirt.

Hovering in the air made Artemis a lot gladder and watched Daniel look at his body parts, to see if ever there were anything broken. Daniel looked a little flushed by the fall and Artemis just hovered above him, not caring in the slightest whether he would start complaining to her why she dropped him in a ten foot distance between her broom and the ground. His broom though, was stuck in the air without anything to do but just stay there, motionless as a corpse. The air rocked it back and forth occasionally but the cool air came along once every ten minutes. Artemis knew how to deal with it and her solution was just to stay in the dormitories, where everything was much cooler. The common room, located under the lake, shared the cool temperature that it had. Artemis chose the wrong decision which explained every fast event that was happening around her. Artemis remained perfectly still and looked down to see the happy eyes of Daniel. "Okay, whatever." Blandly stated by the thirteen year old and looked at Daniel, the same way that she did to him moments ago in the air. The boy acted out like everything in the world was positive. This world was not filled with candy and gifts and blessings. There were always negatives and Artemis always remained on the negative side. The hyperactive boy would certainly not make a good friend to the second year.

Once arrived just almost beside him, she flew to the ground and stepped down from the broom and held it on her right hand. Artemis still did not know whether she would become a Healer, maybe practicing it on this guy would help her make it work. The sweet side of the girl was beginning to show, but Artemis did not agree to just unleash it. She still held the same scowl and her eyebrows knitted with one another as she looked at him. Gently, she punched him on his left shoulder just to test if he was stating the truth. The punch really was not a hard one. It was actually gentle, as if nudging a baby to wake up. Seeing his reaction, Artemis smirked at him, her blue eyes filled with mockery. "Lucky? Are you sure about that? Especially the pain on your shoulder." The signature smirk of Artemis widened even more and Arty made sure that she was going to make Daniel think if really, was he lucky or not. She wanted a sensible answer. Those rubbish statements and questions were all crap and this time, maybe a serious answer that would come from him would definitely make her day. The blood that was shown to her made Artemis even paler, if ever that was possible. Artemis shove his hand forcefully away from her blue eyes to see and looked at him, almost desperate and mad at the same time. "By Merlin's love! Just go to the Hospital Wing, will you? They'll take the blood away." The last word had a full force with Artemis emphasizing the purpose of him going to the Wing. The scarlet liquid was already away from her, but Artemis already had enough.

Daniel flinched when the girl touched his shoulder, it was very light and delicate touch, but it was enough to send pain running through his shoulders, the only thing that made him a little sad was the fact that if he didn't go to the hospital wing, he would go home like this and then have his hectic schedule to deal with, how was he supposed to do ice-skating and gymnastics with a sore shoulder? What about soccer and tennis? What then? He sighed inwardly and put back on his smile, his nice, bbright, happy smile that never seemed to fade. "Well... if I was not lucky, I would have a broken bone right now, but I don't, I'll just get bruises from that fall.'' He explained. He was starting to realize how negative the girl was, but this didn't dampen his mood, he was now determined to make her see all the rrainbow hhe didid. Living happy was very healthy and he wanted the girl to realize this fact so she could be happy anand healthy too, it was never fun being a fuddy-duddy or a boring and mean person.

Daniel frowned stubbornly. ''I don't like the hospital wing.'' He explained, his smile growing back on his face oonce again, he tilted his head at the girls reaction though, it was like Andy, he was scared of blood and he would alalways move away from blood, like the girl had, except she had moved the blood away from herself. ''Are you scared oof blood?" He asked curiously. ''It's just blood, it can't hurt you or anything.'' He said, putting his arm behind his back so the girl wouldn't be able to see his blood, just out of respect for her possible fear oof blood, he wasn't mean, and he would never make someone have to face their fear iif they didn't want to.

Showing that she was correct, Artemis snickered softly just beside him as she dropped her left hand to stop the pain that she caused. It was an immediate action too, since she really did not want this guy to be hurt further. Not that she cared for him, but she just did not want to experience some cries and sobs as she practices around the Quidditch Pitch. What she wanted was a quiet afternoon with peace. Company was welcomed though they needed to mind their business and not get into trouble with the teenager. Artemis believed though, that what Daniel had done was absolutely across the line and she was glad that she still remained unnamed to him. Never was she going to reveal her name though, since Artemis never wanted a puppy following her just to talk and converse. That was pathetic and miserable. "I doubt you would die though, so if I did not go for you then probably you'd end up in the Hospital Wing. Right?" The girl clarified and cleared her throat as she shifted her weight to the other side of her body before even looking at the blue sky that had no clouds. It was so blue and so that was why the heat entered with no permission. If it was just possible, the teenager wanted to smack it so hard until it would rain gently just to wet the ground a bit. Artemis saw Daniel's broom and ever wondered if he would ask her to politely get it for him. She immediately looked at his eye level again, hoping that he did not get the same idea as she thought, seconds ago.

"As if it's harmless," Hummed the Slytherin very mockingly as her blue eyes teased him with the word 'coward' in it. What a guy. He definitely deserved some courage after all his years that he lived on earth. What other adventures has he indulged himself in? Artemis was pretty sure though, that everything that he did to himself mostly caused him harm. Good for him, thought the blonde without any emotion on her face but faced him again with her blue eyes sparkling with threat. "But the one that caused it would surely hurt you. That's why it's flowing out of your body. Put that away." The girl wrinkled her high and pale nose in disgust as she stared at the him the same way that he did as he fell. Good thing that he was slowly steadying himself or, Artemis would have to support him just to bring him to the Hospital Wing by now.

Daniel had to admit, he was curious as to the name of the girl. It was interesting, she had saved him from a possible broken bone, but didn't give her name. Maybe she couldn't remember her name? Maybe she was one of those people that forgot simple things like that? It would explain why she avoided the question? He smiled, he was no-longer going to ask for her name, it might be too traumatising for her, he felt a little guilty, what if he made her sad by asking for her name? What if she were embarrassed by the fact that she did not know her name? He nodded to himself, no more asking for her name. He followed her gaze, to the sky and then to his broom. He had forgotten about it in all honesty and quickly realised that it could not just sit up there forever, it had drifted very close to one of the stands that were used to observe Quidditch games, if he really wanted to, he could possibly climb up through the stands and lean over the edge, grab the broom and come back down, but that seemed like a lot of possible pain for the young Hufflepuff, he looked at the girl who-shall-not-be-asked-for-her-name. His brown eyes told her what he was thinking. "Could you please retrieve my broom?" He asked, smiling slightly.

He laughed slightly, he thought that the girl was quite funny, he was too naive and polite to realise when someone was mocking him, not that he would care anyway, he would take it all in his stride, word could never hurt someone, right? "Pain only hangs around for a little bit, it's not like it's stuck with you forever, cuts heal, scars fade and pain leaves." He explained, shrugging slightly, mainly because he did not want more pain to run through his shoulders. The pain reminded him of when he went into the Forbidden Forest with Warren, that was loads of fun, even if they both got the scare of their lives and Daniel twisted his ankle, it was still fun. But he still hid his hand from view and looked at the castle, vaguely where the hospital wing would be, he really didn't like it in there and it probably showed in his eyes.

Never did Artemis experience a boy who was just to happy for his own good. If ever she had the ability and the strength to punch him, she would. But considering the circumstances made her insides squirm with disgust seeing that there would be another opportunity for her to see blood once more. Artemis knew better than her previous years in Hogwarts, so probably punching a boy that was possibly older than her was not a good idea that she could do. The punishments in Hogwarts were pretty cool, but it was always better to stay in the safe side. The blonde never longed and dreamed of getting in trouble with a teacher. Sure, she was pretty clever on her way around but her cleverness extends to a point that she knows what she is doing and whatnot. "Hey, you're smiling like crazy again." She reminded him as she looked at him with a blank face. His smile was not necessary with what she was doing, nor did she even expect it. His smile was nice but the blonde did not need to see it every three seconds after she talks. With almost everything she does, he smiles. The boy was pretty crazy in her opinionated mind. "Expected. Sure, just wait." Responded Artemis as she put on her smirk on her blonde features. Of course, the boy would have asked her. What more can he say when he already had an accident. The blonde mounted her broom again and flew in a calm speed then retrieved the broom from the air. Above, she dropped in on the ground when she wasn't far enough from it and it landed right next to Daniel. Artemis did not expect a reply and just dismounted her broom modestly.

"But still, there was pain present!" Insisted the teenager as she dusted of her pants and looked at him strongly. Her blue eyes knew that what she was talking about was indeed correct but anyways, pain is the only thing that can stop Artemis from hiding her emotions. It took several years of practice just to earn that interesting ability from her parents and even from some fellow classmates. Artemis looked at Daniel again with curiosity blended with her striking blue eyes. "Do you still plan to fly? After with what happened?" She asked, and expected him to say something that was an answer of defeat. The blonde immediately knew that flying was not his thing, needless to say that it was better for him to stay on the ground. The Slytherin looked at the afternoon skies again, before returning her blue eyes on his.

Daniel laughed at the mention of his consistant smiling. He didn't see the problem with smiling, it felt good to smile, so he made sure that he did if often. He couldn't understand how people couldn't smile, it was just so natural for him, even when he was introuble, he would break out into a bright smile because he would be distracted by something, it could be anything, really, he might spot something that's bright or colourful, something that suddenly moved would also capture his attention. Something that smelled nice or looked nice would capture his attention and if someone called his name, much like a puppy, he would look, no matter what he was doing. This happened because Daniel had a small attention spand, and never tried to change this fact as he couldn't see the problem with it. "I like smiling." He explained, still smiling happily as he looked around, managing to make his smile wider as the girl retrieved his broom, that was a really nice thing to do, he was very grateful, his brown eyes sparkled slightly. "Thanks, or I may have been forced to climb up all those stairs." He said, picking up his broom and rolling his eyes slightly. Daniel's eyes would speak volumes of what he was thinking, he never could hide his thoughts, his bright, happy, welcoming eyes would always give him away, not that he minded it, he was very happy to allow people into his thoughts, he didn't understand why people would try to hide their thoughts and feelings, it seemed pointless, the truth would come out someday, so why not sooner than later?

He shrugged, the pain was slowly going away, which made him relax, no hospital visit for him today, thank Merlin, he really did hate that smelly place, it smelt of sick and sad, it would tear Daniel's mood down, it would always make him sad and angry, he didn't like feeling either of those feelings, so he avioded the hospital like it was the Black plague. "I suppose you could be correct, but I don't think it's healthy to dwell on the past, especially if it is negative, it is much better to think of the positive, like, if I was to think back five minutes ago, instead of thinking about hitting the ground, I'd think about the fall, how nice it felt." He explained, trying to make the girl see that it was better to ignore pain and suffering and focus on the brighter side of life, the nicer side of life. Daniel nearly jumped with excitment at her next question, he did love flying, even if he was dreadful at it, he still enjoyed it greatly. "I sure would, I love flying." He cheered, holding his broom higher, even though he fell all the time, he did try to hop on a broom three times a week, but he never got better at flying. "I am always trying to come here regularly, I really like flying." He admitted, anyone could tell that he was saying the truth, his eyes gave it all away. "Come fly with me?"

The scent of somewhat faraway flowers carried on until it reached the blonde's perfectly structured high nose. She sniffed softly and looked around for Daniel not to see what she was currently busying herself at. The silence of the Slytherin did not really make a big thing out of their conversation but she quit looking hopelessly at her surroundings, stupidly expecting to find some flowers. The air was quite slow though so it was impossible for her to just smell those lovely plants. It soon dawned to her that the location of the Hogwarts Garden was so near and that was when she entirely stopped busying her brain with something not related to their little arguments. She considered them as immature things especially looking at Daniel's impossible and happy mind. "I can see that." Replied the Slytherin and looked at him with no expression. What was there to be snicker and smirk about when the person she was with was pretty crazy and contains an absurd personality. Artemis still had her outer shell protecting over her resulting to give off a personality that was negative and dry. There were barely people who knew her as much as her sister did and never did the blonde try to change that. She never thought of it as much as some people did anyways. Nodding, she looked at him with an understanding look before she resumed looking at the air again, trying to forget those scenes with Daniel's blood.

"You mean your supposed 'crash' was nice? Are you really that absurd?" Artemis questioned with a slight sneer on her blonde features. The boy was a complete hallucination for her striking blue eyes and she just hoped that the next day would prove her damn correct. The deeper side was beginning to cower away from Daniel again, showing him her Slytherin attitude towards those who she did not know as well as her sister and blood relatives. Artemis hid a look of disgust with his perfectly made insanity. Daniel was beginning to creep her out and she certainly was not planning that for now. Did she even laugh throughout the whole conversation? His smiles were so annoying and the insides of Artemis were beginning to squirm awkwardly. "You really do not get tired of crashing, hmm? That's really, an achievement." She smirked softly before even looking at him with her expression, surprised. That remark of his just did not even stop her emotions from showing and expressing what the blonde truly felt with what he had said. "No, you'll crash. I don't wanna save your butt again." She said coolly, her blue eyes matching his daring him to challenge her.

Daniel was curious about one thing, other than the girls name, why she didn't smile. How could she bare to keep such an expressionless face? He couldn't understand why she didn't like smiling as much as he did. Usually when he smiled as much as he did, it turned contagious to those around him, except Andy, who would always sit around feeling sorry for himself, but Daniel didn't dwell on his negative cousin, because right now he was with this nice girl and she was confuiing the magic out of him, how could she not smile? it was such a nice day, there was a beautiful breeze coming and the air was a little cooler, sure, but it was still nice and warm. He tilted his head with confusion. "Why don't you smile?" He asked abruptly. He didn't realise how random his question sounded, but he said it because he was confused and when he was confused he wanted answers, sometimes not realising that normal people would ease into questions, not just randomly ask them because they could. "I mean, you seem so negative, but you don't seem sad, just... negative." He continued, trying to explain the reason of why he was confused, though his explainations were usually poor ones.

He shook his head. Such a silly girl, how could she not see that dwelling on the past was never good? Especially if it was negative. Like crashing, that was negative, so from now on, Daniel would not think about it. Crashing was not fun, it never was. Daniel liked having fun, not causing himself harm, but just because he fell off his broom all the time, it didn't stop him from getting back on his broom and flying again, otherwise that would restrict his life and cause him to have to second guess his actions, he didn't want to be like his little cousin, living a sheltered life that was full of fear and worry. Never. "Just because I crash, does not mean I don't like flying. That's like saying that a clumsy person would never walk because they trip over all the time." He explained. "If I stopped flying because I crash, then I would stop doing other things that I'm not good at, or that would cause me some form of harm because I would be worrying about the outcome of them all. Living like that is ridiculous." He added, further explaining his answer to the girl who seemed to be highly demanding of facts, so he gave them to her. It was no skin off his nose, he liked talking and being open with people, so it was not out of the ordinary for him at all. To her next answer, Daniel frowned slightly, but then perked back up again. "Are you sure you don't want to go flying?" He repeated. To him, it was an innocent question. But to her, it could be considered a threat, because if she didn't fly with him, he'd want her to walk with him, or play some sort of sport with him.

Perhaps what was really meant for Artemis for this little session with Daniel was just to remain negative, melodramatic and a bit sarcastic. It was impossible for the two to be close friends and Artemis knew that as well as she knew her dearest sibling ever. How did it even happen for them to talk without Artemis thinking about it? The previous moments were still in her control and now, it was slipping from her own hands passing it on to Daniel. The control in other words, worked as her short temper for the day. The heat wanted her and even tempted her closely enough to pass her practice, resulting to just go back to the common room where it was cooler because of the lovely temperature of the lake. The blonde believed that Quidditch needed to be her number one priority though for the tryouts were nearly there. Her decision was clearly wrong because of the boy's tragic appearance in the Pitch and his attempt to even talk to her while flying. "I do not feel like doing so. Smiling depends on the day, especially the company and weather." Replied Artemis as she ran a pale hand through her dirty blonde hair that was recovering about her previous moments with Daniel. It was a pity that she did not know this beforehand or else the sight of Daniel's face would have warned her to leave this place, urgently. "Forgive me. It's a habit," Artemis replied falsely and winking at the same time for him to realize that it was a joke that she had made ever since ages ago. Her lips did not form a smile though. A subtle smirk hanged on it but soon enough changed into nothing but blankness.

Whatever thing that made Daniel move his head from side to side, it bothered Artemis a lot. Was he criticizing her despite the bubbly and jubilant personality that was poured over his outer shell? Did he have something in mind regarding her? Artemis knew that she had been sort of an arse to the guy, but his entire admiration towards happiness was quite strange. Artemis never knew a person who was this jubilant as him except for her sister. But to be honest, her sister was only mild when compared to Daniel. He was somehow hyperactive and this made Artemis want to question him regarding that. It was slightly rude though so she closed her halfway opened mouth and silently licked her lips as if to seal the words in with glue. Her mouth was forced to open again to reply. But before she can even let some words out, a small chuckle left her lips accidentally. The blonde did not expect it and she let it alone to wander in Daniel's thoughts. "Then why not move on? You would not want yourself to get hurt all the time? Try looking at the disadvantages before you do some things. You jump in things, just too soon." Artemis never expected her own mouth to say that. Usually, it gives out mumbles or mutters that people would hear. Mostly about her opinions and all those rubbish but now, she believed that what she said was strong enough for her own hears to hear and support. Hydran was such an optimist. Artemis knew the weakness of this guy even though he looked older than her. He dwelled on those happy things not even recognizing the things that can hurt him. This was just like a game, a pessimist versus an optimist. Both were well determined to prove their point. "I'm serious about it. You look better on the ground rather than flying unsteadily on the air." Honestly answered the blonde with not even a trace of regret banging on her chest. When he was gone, then she better needed to resume her practice. She was killing herself as she talked to Daniel.

Daniel tilted his head slightly. She sounded like Hazel, Hazel's mood relied heavily on the weather, which was why he was confused, it was a beautiful day! How could she not be skipping around and enjoying herself, like Daniel was before he decided that he needed to contact his spirit guide. Badly. Which made him shake his head slightly, he had failed to do any contacting! The spirits were surely going to punish him for this one. Not only had he injured himself, he had failed to contact Rhia! He frowned to himself, this was probably his first real frown when in the girls company, but this was serious, he had come here for guidence and now he just failed himself, he was feeling pretty dreadful right now. But when he realised that he was frowning, he quickly replaced his frown with a bright happy smile. Why should his annoyances ruin the girls day? He couldn't allow himself to ruin this nice girls day with a frown! That would be horrible. "I'm sorry." He said, shaking his head and continuing in his normal happy manner and continuing the conversation. "But the weather is so nice right now, definately smile worthy." He said, with a small nod. He nodded slowly. It was a habit to look negative? How aweful...

Daniel scoffed, how could the girl say such a thing? Surely she truly didn't mean that? "If I looked at the disadvantages of the things I do, I would forget to look at the positives. Like... flying just than, the disadvantage would be that I could possibly fall, but the advantage was that I could have possibly contacted my spirit guide. Only one can happen and I chose to believe the positive, instead of the negative. That's just how I do things." He explained simply, with a small shrugg, trying to get her to understand his way of thinking. It was difficult, but he was determined. He sighed. It was no use, this pessimistic girl was determined to make him see the darkness of the world, while he was busy trying to make her see the light, he could tell right now that this had the potential to carry on for a very long time, they were both determined and stubborn in their own ways, Daniel was determined to make her see the good side of life, while the girl was determined to bring Daniel's head out of the clouds, he didn't appriciate it, but he was not angry with her, he wasn't sure he could be. "Everyone looks better on the ground, but I wish to fly and I have the means and the motive to do so." He said, gripping his broom, testing how far she would go to stop him from flying.

Instantly, Artemis revealed a small grin and a half smirk blending on her pink lips. That sad expression that Daniel had was almost the first ever frown that he had expressed. Artemis was fortunate enough to witness the unusual moment planning to tell other people (possibly his relatives if ever he had some in Hogwarts) about what she just saw. Her own blue eyes sparkled with mockery again but that did not stop her from just staring at him like a goofball. "Nice frown." She commented. The blonde now never seemed the find the wrong in neither frowning nor just keeping a scowl on her blonde features. Alliyah once said that made her ugly but the Slytherin kept that only to herself. Her appearance was not her number one priority nor was she vain in any ways. Artemis looked at Daniel but at the same time his frown disappeared, the small grin likewise did the same thing and was replaced by none other than her signature scowl. It was just this time, she was chewing her inner cheek flesh on the right side. Artemis ignored Daniel as she replayed his frown and his eyes in a long way going ahead of them. He totally was thinking about something. Something that did not really approve off. But that knocked off Artemis from her thoughts and forced herself to look around her surroundings to survey what they were feeling. "It's warm. I'd rather fly on breezy days with much air. Not on warm days like this." Muttered the blonde with nothing but the hot sun in her mind. It stressed the Slytherin just looking at the sun and imagining her self sweat so much. Especially when she needed to attend Herbology.

"No, I meant you should weigh the pros and the cons. Not just look at the pros then jump in," Artemis explained to Daniel her opinion. The blonde knew that she was not as smart as the others and she certainly did not inherit the brains of her mother. "Because that's just foolish." Artemis did not have a trace of hatred or anger, but her insides were beginning to boil. The Slytherin only had her tone just like a snake; It was smooth and sly but it had poison in it too. Artemis was not a pessimist though, she just liked to dwell on her mistakes and think about it, to improve herself. That was one thing that people disagreed of her but that still did not change her own habits. Artemis watched as Daniel gripped his broom and prepared to take flight. The blonde had her broom in her left hand, but made no move to stop him. If he fell, then that was his problem. "Er, no thanks. I'll just watch you." She said softly before even mounting her broom. Artemis looked at him with a small smirk as she looked away. She flew to the bleachers and dismounted, to watch him play around the Pitch with an unbalanced feeling on the broom.
