Open after Kris posts as Angel

If anyone asked Josephine about her outfit for tonight, she would insist she had just grabbed a random dress for the ball, as she was only there to chaperone after all. She would never admit to anyone how many different dresses she had tried on for this night, and how much thought she had put into her final choice. It was cute, but casual enough. She didn't think it was her place as staff to come in in an enormous ball gown, as tempting as that was, but still wanted to wear something nice that would impress Angel. That was another thing she wasn't ready to admit out loud, but she could no longer deny it to herself. She really liked the Herbology professor, and half the reason she had decided to help chaperone the ball tonight was for the chance to see him at the dance. Josephine stayed near one of the snack tables, one with a good view of the dance floor so she could at least pretend to be paying attention to the students. But her gaze kept darting around for the person she hoped to see tonight, but so far she didn't spot him yet.

Angel had always been fond of social events. Even if the school events were a bit tamer than some of the parties he used to go to, it was still a nice change of pace to get dressed up and celebrate a bit. Currently, Angel was swirling his drink absently as he half-heartedly scanned the students on the dance floor. Objectively, he was here as a chaperone, but Angel wasn't really sure if he'd actually intervene with anything unless students were being particularly wild this year. And his definition of wild was pretty loose. The whole chaperoning thing was mostly in the interest of keeping up appearances as he skirted the snack tables, relieved when he finally spotted his actual reason for being here standing nearby.

Josephine had been on Angel's mind a lot lately, and he was glad classes were finally done with, even if she had been a wonderful distraction during dull grading. A line had definitely been crossed between the two of them and Angel was enjoying trying to find out where they stood now. "You look stunning," He said softly, gently placing a hand on the small of her back as he joined her at the snack table. "Would pulling out a piece of mistletoe be too much, you think?"

Josephine felt strangely relieved when Angel actually approached her, and she gave him a slight smile as she quickly busied herself by making herself a drink. "You're not bad yourself." She said softly, leaning into his touch for a moment before stepping aside slightly. She laughed at his next comment, shaking her head and tucking some of her hair behind her ear. "Perhaps, as tempting as it is." She joked quietly. "Perhaps we'll run into a piece of stray mistletoe when we're clearing up the decorations at the end of the night, though." Josephine said with a sly smile at Angel. She wanted him to know she wasn't averse to the idea of another kiss, but kissing in front of all the students here was a little much. Not to mention, the watchful eye of Professor Alicastell. Josephine knew two professors had recently gotten married, so she knew it wasn't forbidden, but it still felt strange.

Angel gave Josephine an indulgent grin when she complimented him back, trying not to preen too much. He generally tried to dress as nicely as he could, but exam season had worn him down a little and it was nice to really scrub up for something. He was sad to lose the contact when Josephine stepped away, but he understood there was probably some need for discretion. Flexing his hand, Angel let his hand drop, imagining he could still feel the heat of his skin on his palm. "I'm sure that could be arranged," Angel said lightly when Josephine implied there would be time for something a bit more intimate later. Ever since they'd kissed in the hospital wing, Angel had wanted nothing else but to kiss her again, he could be patient."As a herbology expert I can say with certainty that the mistletoe is plentiful this year," He added with mock seriousness.

Glancing at the snack table spread out in front of them, Angel motioned to the punch, grabbing a cup."Can I get you a drink?" Angel said. It would be a shameless excuse perhaps to touch her again, just a lingering brush of their hands, but Angel would take it.

Josephine's gaze followed Angel's hand as he lowered it, and she regret the distance she had created between them. But she was careful not to get too caught up in Angel with all the students around, as difficult as that was. She couldn't help a small laugh at his comment about the mistletoe, and she met his gaze as she replied with a coy smile. "That's very lucky, then." She said softly, finding it difficult to tear her gaze away from him. She nodded at his question, even if moments before she had already made herself a drink. She left the cup standing on the table, hoping Angel would assume it was something a student had left behind. It was silly, but she liked that he was getting her one. "Please." She said, nodding.
