After the fiasco of the Halloween Feast, Sianna had done her research on the Yuleball, and had in the end chosen an elegant blue lace dress to wear with gold heeled shoes and jewellery, she felt that this outfit was more than appropriate for her to be wearing to such an event. The young Ravenclaw had opted for blue but it had nothing to do with her house, more that she felt like it suited her perfectly, she liked the way the dress was on her, perhaps she was still a little young to be wearing such things and she should like anyone go through an awkward phase of dresses, but Sianna didn't believe in such things, if her parents had the money why did she have to settle for some low rate nothing dress when she had this kind of dress at her disposal. It took a little while to get ready and she had to get some help from some of the other people in her dorm to ensure that the dress sat perfectly on her still petite frame.

Eventually the girl left the dorm room and ventured out of the room and down all the steps to the great hall, she was surprised upon her arrival at the transformation the hall had gone under, but also at the people around her, who were not all dressed as formally as she was, or weren't wearing floor length gowns, which she had imagined would be what most would wear, but everyone looked good she had to admit. Sianna smiled to herself and then just wondered around the hall, wondering whom she might run into, sort of hoping that she might just run into the astronaut from the Halloween feast but really just glad to be at the great hall. Excited to be a part of it, excited to see this more formal side of the school, she knew that at some point she would have to speak with her mentor on the Yearbook but she had plenty of time to waist until then.

Elysia Styx walked into the Great Hall, dressed in a very summery dress that looked almost identical to something her mother would wear. It gently swayed against her legs as she walked the Great Hall. Her silvery green eyes looked around as she saw nothing but snowy decorations, and whatnot. It was something that vaguely reminded her of Russia, and she did not feel the need to write in her journal. Unfortunately, her silvery green eyes did not find anyone she wanted to hang out with, considering the type of attitude she normally had. That is, until she found someone. One of her dorm mates. Elysia sighed in relief, before finding herself feeling emotions before she shoved it down within her mind. It was weakness. Elysia walked up to Sianna before looking over her dress. Sianna looked beautiful, and it was something that Elysia could appreciate. Even a small subtle smile graced Elysia’s lips. Elysia decided that maybe she should try hanging out with Sianna. “You look beautiful,” Elysia spoke. Her voice was less icy than normal, and her overall expression looked a little more relaxed. Elysia placed her hands behind her back, and hoped that she did not see that one boy. Lestat would never come here, although little did she know, he did.

Sianna could not spot anyone she knew, she was looking throughout the hall, it likely didn't help that she didn't know too many people and spotting those she did know was difficult, she spotted with ease the girl with the identical twin and knew if worst came to worse she would spend the time with her, it wouldn't be the best thing in the world but it also really wouldn't be the worst. The young Ravenclaw was saved from this when she spotted her dorm mate, Elysia, who greeted her with a compliment and Sianna just smiled at her gratefully, grateful for the compliment being paid to her, the dress she was wearing was an expensive dress and she would be lying if she said that getting no compliments for it the entire evening would be fine. Sianna took a small moment to look at Elysia's dress and noted it was more summery, perhaps a little less formal, but suited Elysia fine, if another made her look more friendly than she really was, "As do you," she replied easily with a smile that showed she was at least telling the truth, "Some of these dresses are just horrible," Sianna couldn't help but say, motioning towards a few she didn't like, not really meaning anything malicious by it just that she didn't like them, "Will your brother and his minion be attending?" she asked just as polite conversation.

Octavian was not going to the Yule ball as of just a few days before the event, but curiosity got the better of him. Not to mention the idea of some of his female classmates glammed up meant it was something the boy just couldn't miss. Luckily for him, he was prepared. He took his suit out from his trunk and laid it out on the bed before he began to dress. The tie felt tight around his neck but he didn't let it lax, he wanted to look his best when he walked into the Great hall. He stood in front of the mirror as he slipped his jacket on and fastened the buttons. He was happy and that was all he needed to be before he made his way out of the common room and down to the Great hall.

The Gryffindor took his time walking into the Great hall as he looked around at the other students as they waited for their partners or talked to their friends. There were a lot of familiar faces and Octavian was amazed to see how some of them looked in their Sunday. So far there was no sign of his sister, he had no idea if she planned on attending, or if she was coming with a partner. Personally, he would rather not know. Octavian made his way inside and he spotted to fellow first years, they were both Ravenclaws, he wasn't sure if they were friends with his sister or not but they were certainly two girls he wanted to get to know. "Ladies, you're both looking lovely this evening,"

Elysia was not expecting a compliment back, but a gentle smile remained. Elysia brushed her hair over her hear, and looked around as Sianna mentioned that other dresses were just horrible. She could definitely agree. Some people should not have been allowed outside in public with what some of these people were wearing. Elysia was about to agree when she heard a question that made her smile disappear like magic. The mere mention of that minion was enough to ruin a night. Sighing, she replied, "I don't know. I can't imagine either of them ever having dates." She was truly talking about the minion because she knew that her brother received the same good looks as she had. Elysia was about to change the subject with a male voice complimented the two girls, and it was unfamiliar. She never heard this boy before. Turning, her silvery green eyes locked onto another first year. One she recognized as a Gryffindor but not much else. Elysia was not sure who the boy was, but she knew one thing for certain. She would not associate herself with filth, if he were that type. Elysia asked, her voice monotone, "And who are you?" There would be no compliments paid to a stranger from her mouth.

Sianna had no personal experience of Elysia's twin and his minion only what she'd heard from her dorm mate and she felt like from that neither was likely to have dates, the young Ravenclaw smiled a little at her dorm mate who clearly got annoyed at it being brought up, the teen couldn't help but laugh slightly at her, find it more than a little funny internally the anguish it caused, Sianna just had the good sense to keep it to herself and instead just focused her attention on the people around them. She pointed at one girl in particularly, "That makes her look like an oversized marshmallow," she was able to say just as they were interrupted by a boy, and where she had perhaps hoped it might be astronaut boy, it really wasn't, for one though she barely knew the other boy she didn't think he would ever say the words this boy had just uttered, and though it was true they did look good she had never really met someone just so bold like that. The young Ravenclaw looked to Elysia as she spoke, a small nod of her head as she did so, who was this boy? Sianna gave him a quick look up and down, he was in their year, some Gryffindor she was sure, the Ravenclaw kept her gaze on him, waiting for him to speak, depending on what he said would depend on if she said anything.

Octavian was a little taken by the reaction of the two girls. The blonde was so far remaining silent, the other seemed to demand to know who he was so she could decide if he was worth talking to or not. It wasn't that surprising the boy knew her type and was happy to go along with it. By just about any logic he should be considered worthy. The Gryffindor grinned at the two girls and held out his hand, "Where are my manners, Octavian Vetrov, apologies if I've interrupted a good mocking session, not everyone can have the keen fashion sense of you two laides," He smiled at the two of them not entirely sure how his presence or his personality would go down with the two girls.

Elysia nodded curtly as Sianna said that someone looked like a giant marshmallow. Had she grown up in the muggle world, she would have compared the girl to the enemy from the Ghostbusters, but sadly enough, Elysia did not know that reference. Instead, she just thought about holding the girl over a fire, roasting. Perhaps she would even melt to some extent. Her morbid thoughts were shoved back once more as she had her attention on the male in front of them. He spoke his name, and that last name... Was that a pureblood one? She made a mental note to herself to ask her father if this was one of the Russian families. Vetrov sounded Russian, no doubt. Elysia was raised in Russia, but she would not speak it right now. That would be rude to Sianna. Elysia finally replied, “Indeed. First things first, are you friends with Lestat and or Casimir?” Elysia did not want to have common friends with her brother, but she was not sure if Sianna felt the same. So, she had to include him just in case.

Unlike Elysia Sianna was no pureblood, not far from it, but not one, and this boy in front of them, seemed to have a name that Sianna thought she'd heard to be a pureblood name. The Ravenclaw listened as he introduced himself as Octavian and kept speaking, Sianna had seen the boy before but never spoken with him, and she didn't understand why he was saying what he was saying, did he want to join in the mocking session, was he looking for compliments in return. Sianna had been about to say anything when Elysia did the right thing and asked if he was friends with either of their respective twins, from the look of him, she didn't think Casimir would be friends with him, but if he was a pureblood perhaps that mean he might be Lestat's friend and had been sent over to annoy them. She didn't say anything, nothing needed added, and just let her gaze linger on the boy's waiting for his response.

Octavian brushed his hand through his hair as he listened to the questions put to him by one of the girls. The other was keeping quiet, asked if he was friends with two boys he wondered who they were and what they were to the two girls. Did they not like each other? Perhaps they were their brothers, that made sense, who wanted to share friends with a sibling unless you got on. It felt strange that Octavian was being interrogated by this girl when all he had said was she and her friend looked nice, apparently he had to pass a test before his compliment could be acknowledged. "The names ring a bell, but no doubt most first years name do on some level, no I'm not friends with anyone by those names, next question? Or have I passed the test? Octavian was a little more amused by the girl than he should have been but she and her friend intruiged him.

Elysia wondered what Sianna thought about the boy. Was he worthy enough to even talk to them? Elysia may have been prejudice, hidden within, but right now, she had no qualms against Sianna. She was not a mudblood, and eventually, her line might become pure. His name was certainly strange, but she turned her eyes to Sianna before giving her a look of questionability. Should they even try to speak to someone like this male? Elysia sighed and turned her attention to Octavian, wondering if he had passed the test. Perhaps he had, perhaps not. Elysia was extremely guarded on who she associated herself with, but she would be lying if she said that him not being friends with Lestat didn’t make her feel relieved. It did. “You have passed the test.” Elysia did not acknowledge the compliment still, since she just allowed those things to slip by. “My name is Elysia Styx. This is Sianna Djordjevic.” She took the opportunity to introduce the two of them to him. “Sianna, unless there are other questions for him?”

Sianna was pretty pleased when it appeared that the boy had zero connection to either of their respective twins, and though he could be lying and the thought caused her eyes to narrow, she just kept her gaze on his glancing him up and down, and though it seemed that Elysia was satisfied as to what this boy was saying, she didn't feel like she was. Sianna however let Elysia introduce them both and then upon being asked if she had any further questions, she took a small step towards the boy, brushing down on the lace blue skirt folding her arms, and taking a moment just to look him over, "I'm good," she replied stepping away from him and essentially back in line with Elysia, "You said Octavian was your name?" she asked for clarification, since a lot had followed him introducing himself, "You're a gryffindor right?" Sianna added, sure that was the house that she'd seen him in. Sianna decided she was bored, "Shall we get drinks?" the serbian girl offered, pointing over to the drinks table, just a little away from where they stood, it would at least by pass the awkwardness of the beginning of this conversation.
