Salazar had been dragged along to Diagon Alley for shopping. Barny was supposed to have been helping his mother, but he'd been out flying, so the almost-sixteen-year-old Salazar was here in place of his younger brother. His mother had said it was a good thing, too, because he needed some new robes. Salazar didn't think this was true. He was quite happy in his comfortable old robes that had burn marks all over them. Salazar liked playing with fire.
While his mother was in the Healer's Center picking up supplies for her practice back home, Salazar managed to sneak away and headed for the Quidditch supplies shop. He wanted a new broom and thought he might have just enough saved up for one. As he stood looking in the window, he absentmindedly cast a bluebell flame spell and directed the little blue balls of fire above his head and behind him. He liked seeing their reflection in the window.
