Now this was more like it. When her brother had first told her about the Conglomerated Arts Room, Xio was sure he was pulling her leg. But then she had read about it in the ever so renown Hogwarts: A History and knew that it had to be real, and set out to find it herself. Of course, that did not prove to be successful and after an afternoon of hurried searching, Xio realized that she had no choice but to swallow her pride and ask her brother for help during dinner. And so that's what she did– marched right up to him as he was in the middle of dessert, confident in every step until she was actually right there in front of him and all his friends. She fumbled with some hand signs that practically begged Alfie to show her the way, and now here she was, harp carefully extracted from its enchanted case and eyes starry as she took in the room around her.

Xio didn't even notice that Alfie had left the room as she ran around the space to touch everything she could get her hands on, as kids her age do. There was absolutely everything needed in this room for an arts lover, ranging from beginner instruments to enormous canvases for those who claimed themselves oil paint connoisseurs. The beech flooring and wall of mirrors panged a bout of homesickness within Xio, a sentiment that she quickly brushed away. She should be happy to be at Hogwarts instead of mourning something she would return to in just a few months' time. Xio turned her attention back to the room, which seemed to arrange itself according to the needs of a student, probably sensing out Xio's searing intent to play the harp as it set up a suitable practice space for her. Settling into the stool, Xio made sure to position herself correctly, tilting the body of her pedal harp between her legs and leaning it onto her right shoulder. She methodically continued to tune her harp before putting her hands in position. Relaxed, poised, and calm. The setup process came naturally to her, and Xio could turn her mind off and let her muscle memory do the talking; that was one of the best parts of the harp, being able to turn her mind off. When she was ready, she began her practice. A few scales and arpeggios later, Xio was ready.

The harp solo from Donizetti's '
Lucia di Lammermoor' was a showstopper indeed. It certainly stopped Xio from practically breathing when she first saw it performed live with her mother. It was the performance that inspired her to start her musical journey with her beloved harp, and it was always the song she would warm up with when practicing. Dance your digits along the strings; let them do their waltz. Xio was glad that she was alone so that she could enjoy her music in peace.
