Asaiah smoothened his blue suit and quickly fixes hair before making his way from the Slytherin common room to the Entrance Hall where he would be waiting on his date, Marisol Woods. The two had agreed on going as friends and he had been looking forward for it. A night of having fun was what he was going for and something inside him told him that tonight was going to be just that. Once he was done fixing his hair, the first year walked out of the common room and into the Dungeons - which were as usual very cold and dark - and kept on walking until he stood outside of the Dungeons. Why does our common room have to be located in the stupidest place in the whole castle? Asaiah thought to himself while walking to the Entrance Hall. Once the first year knew he would be at the Hall soon, he began to feel rather nervous and started smoothening his suit and tie again. What if he didn't look fancy enough for a Yule Ball and one of the Professors was going to kick him out and he had to leave Marisol behind. (It better not be Professor Summers who would be the one kicking him out though) or what if he and Marisol weren't going to have fun at all and would end up sitting on the side because they were both bored to death. Asaiah pinched himself in the arm to escape these thoughts and continued walking. When he arrived at his destination the Slytherin smiled and faced the staircase, waiting for Marisol who could be here any minute now.

Marisol was not feeling too good, since it was the week of the full moon, so she had to take her potion this week. At first she was upset that the full moon was during the week of the Yule Ball, but then she figured as long as it wasn't on the night of the Yule Ball, she should be fine. Plus, an earlier full moon also allowed her to be able to go to the Quidditch game with Asaiah later during the summer holidays. So the Gryffindor had gone down into the dungeons to take her Wolfsbane potion from Professor Pendleton. She had only done her hair and hadn't yet put on her dress, so she had to hurry. She knew Asaiah would be waiting for her soon, so she didn't bother exchanging pleasantries with the Potions professor this time. She simply took her potion and rushed back up to the Gryffindor common room, hating that her dorm room was on the opposite side of where she needed to be.

When the latina finally put on her dress, she quickly smoothed it down with her hands and checked one last time to make sure the single strap of her dress would cover her werewolf scars, and then headed down the stairs of the castle. At first her heart was beating fast because she was in a rush, but after she had calmed down while taking all those flights of stairs, she realized the adrenaline pumping through her veins was excitement for the Yule Ball. This was her first official school event and she was excited to see what it was all about and spend it with a friend that she always had a good time with. When Marisol arrived, she saw Asaiah waiting where he said he would meet her and grinned from ear to ear at him. "Hi!" she said excitedly. She looked him over and couldn't stop grinning because she was not used to seeing her friend in such formal attire. "You look nice!" she said honestly. The color of his suit suited him well. "Blue is a good look for you, you should've been a Ravenclaw," she joked. She felt herself wanting to ramble so she stopped herself and just smiled at him, excitement running through her whole body.

Before his date would arrive Asaiah had decided to take a quik peak inside the Great Hall. The decoration that the Professors had put up were magnificent and it almost made him forget that it was summer outside of the Great Hall. The ceiling was perhaps the thing that made Asaiah really appreciate his magical blood. The Professors made the ceiling look like snow was falling on their heads, and there were several huge Chrismas trees standing in every corner of the Hall. Huge snowflakes were coming out of the magica-enchated sky and suspended in midair above the heads of the students who were already at the feast. Asaiah had never seen anything like this before, even the Halloween decorations couldn't top this. Hogwarts was truly amazing.

Asaiah didn't have to wait long before he spotted Marisol descending the stairs to the Entrance hall. For a moment the Slytherin wasn't sure if it was his friend because he had hardly ever seen her in a dress and she looked very pretty in this one. He wondered whether she had always looked like this but he hadn't noticed her before. Asaiah grinned back at her. When the Gryffindor girl stood opposite him Asaiah immediately offered his right arm to her so that she could link her arm through it like the boy had seen in some of the muggle films his father made them watch when he and his two sisters, Jennifer and Hannah were little. "You look really gorgeous, Mari." Asaiah told Marisol with a small wink and smile as he led the way into the Great Hall, almost being speechless because of the way she looked tonight. He certainly wasn't expecting her to look like this when he asked her to go with him to the Yule Ball. Remembering the long letter his parents had sent him along with his awesome-looking blue suit, Asaiah took othe corsage they sent with his suit out his his pocket. ''This is for you.'' the boy said handing over the corsage with a bright but shy smile.

Marisol smiled shyly when Asaiah complimented her. She was glad that her efforts to dress up didn't go unnoticed, because she certainly was not going to look like this every day, it took way too much time. "Thank you," she said brightly. When he pulled out a corsage Marisol smiled again and asked him to help her put it on. It was just like all the movies she had watched as a kid, except she still felt like a kid herself, like they were playing dress up and pretending. It was real though, and she was already having fun and the night had only just begun.

Marisol gently slipped her arm in between Asaiah's extended right arm and together they walked into the Great Hall. "Wow," she said, amazed at how beautiful the Great Hall looked. With all the decorations it was hard to distinguish that this was a place she visited daily. She marveled at all the beautiful decorations but especially loved the falling snow, since it it was actually summer in New Zealand; it made her think magic was pretty cool after all. Marisol then looked around at all the other students in attendance at the Yule Ball. There were plenty of first years like them, either looking anxious or totally aloof as they danced, and then there were the older couples, dancing and whispering a little too close to each other. She looked at the dresses other girls were wearing and felt a little overdressed since lots of girls were wearing shorter cocktail dresses. But Marisol didn't let that bother her as she heard a song she liked, and tugged on Asaiah's arm. "Oh please can we dance this song, please!" She didn't really give him a choice in the matter as she was already dragging him towards the dance floor.

Asaiah smiled as he helped her put the corsage on and carefully helped her with it. To be honest, before asking Marisol to come with him, Asaiah hadn't really been looking forward to the Yule Ball but now that exams were over and he didn't have to worry about them anymore, the boy felt as if the Yule Ball was some sort of reward for his hard work.

Walking with her into the Great Hall, he slightly chuckled at hearing Marisols reaction. ''Nah, Halloween looked way better.'' He said jokingly. As they walked further into the Great Hall Asaiah noticed that the nervous feelings he had been feeling right before Marisol walked down the stairs all seemed to be gone now, and was relieved that they were. He tried scanning the room to see if any his friends also attended the Yule Ball but it was simply too way too crowded to see them. When Marisol asked if they could dance to the song that was currently playing and dragged him along with her to the dance floor, the first year's smile appeared again. ''I have to warn you, though, I've got killer dance moves.'' Asaiah said raising his voice because of the loud music. ''So I hope you're prepared for what is about to happen.'' He added, grinning from ear to ear and started doing the only few moves he knew. Though his dance moves weren't actually ''killer dance moves'' at all, Asaiah was already having a good time having his friend besides him rather than being here alone.

Marisol looked over at Asaiah when he said the Halloween decorations had looked better, and wished she had been there. She hadn't even thought of what she had missed out on except a night to hang out with her friends. But now, seeing the Great Hall elaborately decorated for the Yule Ball, she had no doubt that the staff had probably gone all out for the Halloween feast too. She hated that she had to miss it, and hoped next year it wouldn't fall on a full moon. But she was already lucky enough that tonight and the upcoming Quidditch game with Asaiah weren't interferring so she doubted she would be that lucky every time an event came up. Trying not to dwell on that too much, Marisol looked over at Asaiah and asked, "What did you dress up as for Halloween?" She was curious to hear what her friend would've come as.

She was glad Asaiah didn't protest when she had pulled him out onto the dance floor. She rolled her eyes playfully when he said he had killer dance moves and barely had time to say, "Oh yeah? Show me then," when the boy began to dance. Marisol watched him and put a hand up over her mouth, trying not to laugh at him, but eventually failed as she erupted in giggles. "Nice moves," she said through her laughter. She began to copy him, adding a few silly moves of her own, even though she was actually a rather good dancer. "If this was a dance competition we would definitely win!" she said over the music. Mari grabbed Asaiah's hands and twirled around and then tried to twirl Asaiah but the two of them together weren't very graceful. She laughed as their limbs got tangled and stuck, and said, "Sorry, I got too ambitious with our dance moves," through her laughter.

''I dressed up as Spider-man.'' the boy told her with excitement in his eyes. ''My mother made the costume for me before I went to school.'' Wearing the Spider-man costume at the Halloween feast made him feel like a reallife superhero. ''If you want to see it, I can put it on the night you stay over.'' Though Asaiah wasn't really sure if she got permission to also stay over after going with him to a Quidditch game, he'd be happy to show her his awesome homemade costume. It was right then that he began to realise that he hadn't seen Marisol at all during the Halloween feast, not even once. Asaiah being as he alwas was got rather curious and asked, ''Why weren't you at the feast, Marisol?'' and tilted his head a little to the right while doing so.

Asaiah was laughing too, he had to admit that his dance moves were kind of lame, but they were a bunch of first years having a h*ll of a good time so definitely wasn't going to spoil it. ''With these dance moves we would win any dance competition.'' He said a little louder so that she could hear him. Asaiah laughed as Marisol twirled around and even more when she tried doing it to him and it failed. Catching his breath because he had laughed so much that his stomach began to hurt, the first year made sure that they weren't tangled anymore. ''Don't apologize, the crowd needed a break anyway.'' the Slytherin said with a grin. ''You know, because our dance moves were too good for them to handle.'' He explained half-jokingly. ''Do you want something to drink?'' Asaiah asked her, raising his voice because of the music.

mehh

Marisol was surprised to hear that Asaiah had dressed up as Spiderman, which made her happy because the wizarding world had more of the Muggle world infused in it than she thought. She laughed when he said he would wear it for her if she went over to his house for the holidays. Just the thought of Asaiah modeling something for her, especially a Spiderman costume, was endearingly hilarious. She still had yet to ask her parents if she could go over because Asaiah was a boy so she didn't know how she was going to explain that. Thankfully he had sisters so if she was going to spend the night, she would be able to sleep in their room. When he asked why she wasn't at the feast, Marisol snapped out of her thoughts and said, "Oh um, I was really sick that day, so I couldn't go." Sure it wasn't the truth, but it wasn't entirely a lie either; her lycanthropy was a disease to her, so she was technically sick.

As the two first years danced and laughed on the dance floor, she saw that they were attracting attention; mostly reproachful looks from older students thinking they were rambunctious little first years, but she was glad to see that there were other first years dancing just as freely as they were. She and Asaiah were still better dancers though, she thought competitively in her mind. After the song was over she laughed at his comment and said, "Yeah we should probably give them a chance to show their skills, even though they'll never beat us." As he asked if she wanted something to drink, the Gryffindor nodded her head and started walking towards the refreshments table. "But we have to go back for round 2 okay?" she said to him seriously. She wasn't going to let Asaiah off the hook with dancing just yet because the night had just started and she still had so much energy.

Asaiah nodded as she stated that they should give the other students a chance to show their best dance moves. ''I mean, sure, there are most likely a few students here that can dance but they'll never reach our level of awesomeness.'' the first year said with a grin. While walking with her to the refreshments table, Asaiah looked around, hoping he would see some familiar faces but yet again couldn't see anyone he recongized. He was wondering whether all the people he had met so far were even going to attend the Yule Ball or not. As Marisol told him that they were going to have a round 2, he chuckled and said, ''Perfect, because I have still got some totally, awesome dance moves left to show you and the rest of the Great Hall.'' and with a smile on his, already a bit sweaty, forehead, Asaiah poured himself and Marisol some punch into two cups. As he turned around to look at the dance floor again, the Slytherin boy saw one of his friends, Wyatt, dancing with a girl he didn't know and had to admit that they, too, had pretty cool dance moves - but they would never ever reach Marisol's and Asaiah's level of cool dance moves.

Marisol thanked Asaiah as he handed her a cup of punch and took a big drink from it, since she was already feeling thirsty from their energetic dance. When the Slytherin said he had more dance moves to show, Marisol half groaned playfully and laughed saying, "I don't think they will be ready for that!" She really didn't mind Asaiah dancing silly because it allowed her to do the same too.

She grabbed a cookie from the table and chewed on it as she looked around the packed Great Hall. She tried to see if she recognized anyone but it was too crowded to make anyone out in particular, and they were all dressed in formal attire instead of the usual robes, which oddly enough made it harder to distinguish people. She thought it would be the other way around, being harder to pick someone out of a sea of black robes, but perhaps it was because she was not used to seeing everyone dressed so differently and elegantly. After finishing her cookie Marisol realized she was feeling a little queasy from hurriedly taking her Wolfsbane potion and then dancing around with Asaiah so soon after she took it, so she looked around at the punch table again. "Do you see any chocolate around?" she asked her date. As trivial as chocolate seemed, it always seemed to make the werewolf feel better around a full moon.
