Maybe, just maybe, it was a little bit Sunny’s fault for not checking the team list until today, but she had her reasons. She was an OWL student now, and prefect patrols with Cyrus took up the time she could’ve spent looking at noticeboards. Besides, it wasn't like Quidditch was her life, she didn't care much about the game or if Slytherin won. She just liked hitting bludgers at people and she never thought for a minute that would get taken away from her, even by the likes of Vanity.
But when she overheard talk of a Slytherin practice she hadn’t been invited to, she realised Vanity had moved against her. She checked the team list, then tore it from the noticeboard and crushed it in her fist. She couldn't let that witch get away with this, and decided to pay her a visit down at the Quidditch pitch. The walk down gave her time for composure, that by the time she reached the pitch, she’d managed to smooth her expression into something calm, and potentially pleasant, on the surface at least. Sunny even smiled when she found Vanity. The smile was too sweet to be real. “What’s this about then?” she asked, lightly tossing the balled up list in Vanity’s direction. Her voice was light too, but her eyes gave nothing away. “You didn’t think you could cut me without talking to me first… did you?”
