Nolan was somewhat glad to be back at school. He had spent his break at his friend's place to be away from his mother. Which meant that he rarely saw the rest of his family members while he was spending time with his friend. He needed some space from his mother and he couldn't handle seeing his mother. Not right now. The Hufflepuff had spent his time in the art room, hoping to at least get some music done, but right now, he seemed like he was struggling to come up with something. He had some music block for a while. He hoped that it wasn't going to last forever. Nolan sat in the art room, strumming different tunes to find at least something that would inspire him.

Sky was beginning her OWL year. despite how much the professors kept pressuring them about the OWL exams and how important this year would be for them she was reluctant to really focus on studying. sitting and reading a big lump of text felt like mucking out the entire owler to her. she knew her future was not in academia. she wasn't bad at magic. but there were areas she was better at than others. while she enjoyed making things change changing the colour and patterns of the world she was not a fan pf transfiguration theory. a topic that was very dry and just a list of limitations. she had just spent an hour writing an essay of it and needed a break.
she entered the arts room and heard that someone was playing music. she smiled glad that there was someone around who she may be able to jam with. as she approached the music rooms she listened. it was an interesting piece. it was clear whoever it was had a skilled technique. however somehow the music still sounded flat in a way that wasn't to do with the choice of notes. but more like it was covered in a layer of dust. she paused outside the room for a moment and peered in and was surprised to see Nolan there. someone who had been a fixture in the room though who had recently not been around much. an occurrence that she blamed on the fact that last year he had had his OWLS. she paused for a moment waiting for a lull in the playing before she knocked lightly on the door. "Hi Nolan. would you mind some company?" she asked hoping he wasn't in the middle of anything too important.
