Halloween was one of the things that she was actually never allowed to celebrate. Mostly because her family just believed it shouldn't be. Charlotte had never actually celebrated it before. She had always gone to a few of the stuff at Hogwarts in New Zealand, but that had been the only time. Ever since then she hadn't really done much for the day. Today would be different. She was feeling pretty defiant, and she was feeling ready to do something more with her day rather than just moaning about how much she disliked the holiday. It wasn't really that British her parents had always believed, so she was happy to say for once that she was glad for the opportunity to celebrate it without needing to let her parents know about it. She was just another Hogwarts student celebrating something truly fun. She didn't need to think about being Charlotte Edwina Williams, daughter of Lord Williams in line to the throne. She was just another girl with a costume and a smile to go along with it. She was happy with everything that she had done. Happy with her costume. It was simple. Just a cheerleader outfit. A very tight fitting shirt that hugged her slim figure. A short skirt that seemed to elongate her legs with how short it was, and a pair of low trainers. Ones that she had been told that cheerleaders wore. She didn't know how accurate her costume was, but it felt like it. She even had a pair of pom poms to go along with it. She was happy with her costume, and all she wore was the lightest bit of make up, a bit of lip gloss and mascara. Nothing else. Simple. Something she really didn't do often. She felt a little exposed, she'd done her hair differently, she looked a lot more laid back than she would normally. It was a good feeling. She knew that she had about one night a year to feel this way, and only for a few more years. She was happy to be able to enjoy it. Happy to know that no matter what no one could take the night away from her. She just hadn't made any plans and was going alone. So, she was pretty much hoping that she might meet someone. Someone who she either knew or didn't know. She was happy with whatever occurred. Tonight was just a time to remember how fun things could be if she wasn't who she was.

The hall itself was stunning. As usual. The place looked incredibly. It was easy to say that. It had been decorated and made to look like Halloween had arrived and wasn't planning on leaving. Though she knew that come tomorrow that no matter what happened she would cherish a day like this. Her life was pretty much already planned out. This wasn't. This was different, this was why she had returned, to Hogwarts New Zealand of all places. Charlotte brushed down on her skirt. As much as her clothes and everything else was different she was happy to be there, and she wouldn't mind if she caught someone's eye either. The girl was young, she had a lot to offer, and she was in a situation where no matter how much she loved someone she knew it wouldn't actually last. After all, she knew that no person would ever pick her. It would always be someone else rather than her. She knew that because she wasn't fully made up, and dressed like she normally was, she didn't look perfect, so that meant people wouldn't be interested in her. She was at least glad that no matter what she was still feeling really pretty confident. She was feeling pretty fantastic. Never had she really had the chance to let her hair down. This would be a good first. Smiling she walked over to the drinks table and picked up a glass of pumpkin juice, sipping it as she looked around at all the other people, all the other costumes, that were admittedly, a lot better than hers. No matter what though she was happy, she felt good about herself, and she was ready to have a little bit of fun.

There was an itch on Cosette Mayfair, an itch that wants her to attend the Halloween feast. Since she prepared for this celebration, making her own wings with her bare hands. It wasn't easy but it sure looks amazing, with the extra glitters her wings looks extravagant. The prefect walked alone inside the hall, smiling here and there as some people would recognize her. She didn't had the best reputation in school but at least she had one, squeezing herself as she made her way deep into the hall, looking for someone she knows. Dressed in her Mariposa Costume, Cosette stayed still for a moment, leaning at the wall sideways, as her eyes shifted into the crowd. Everyone seems to be having fun, on the other hand she couldn't help missing her boyfriend. It's sad he couldn't spend time with her this month and since he just graduated last year, it made it all worse. She didn't expect to miss him this much, as Raffaelo's in Bulgaria, training for a game. How many months does she have to wait to be with him, she couldn't bear not seeing him. After everything they've been too, tapping her heels on the floor, still hoping to find someone she knows, Cosette joined the others. Socializing to strangers, students she doesn't even know, there were some first years looking at her. Maybe because of her golden eyes that lit up the room or was it her hair that shined, hair products makes everything special. Though her skin's glowing, she looked so beautiful for this day. And she did it for herself, not to draw any attention, well maybe a tiny ounce of appreciation would work too. A few Hi and Hello's scattered the room, Cosette swirling around for everyone to see her costume. A lot of angels and felines were present, she remembered her old Halloween Feast days.

The memory still lingers on her mind, it was amazing when she won an award for best costume, it was a day she couldn't forget. Now for some refreshment, her mouth run dry from all the talking. Sharing a few advice to the first years and lower years, she couldn't believe she would be graduating this year. It seems like yesterday the Mayfair triplets were having fun around the student lounge and with her brother Armand in the puffs common room. The days were still fresh on her mind, yet she hated that her siblings just disappeared in thin air. Did their father asked them to go back home? Paris maybe? She wasn't sure but Cosette felt lucky she was still hear, that she survived the seven years of Hogwarts. It made her proud to be honest, who knew that she would even be a prefect. It was a big accomplishment she truly cherished, the refreshment table looked lovely. Mouthwatering is a word to describe everything in one look, pumpkin juice sounds delightful and slice of pumpkin pie sounds delightful. She took a cup and poured some, then noticed a blonde dressed as a muggle cheerleader. Her pompoms looks lovely, she looked at the student and smiled. Raising her cup as a sign of cheers and then she took a sip, sweet and delicious. "Are you having fun?" she asked the girl who seems to be a year younger than her. Cosette wanted to start a conversation, she needed friends, any year, any house and any gender. The girl dressed in a cheerleader outfit looked nice, though she haven't seen her around, and Cosette loves doing her patrolling, prefect duties.

With very few friends the girl wasn't sure what she was really doing at the Halloween feast. People were in groups of friends, but the young blonde was standing alone, in her little outfit, just wondering if she was doing the right thing. Her father wouldn't be happy if he found out. She was breaking so many of their families' traditions. All she could be certain of, was that tonight she was just Charlotte, sixth year Hufflepuff. She wasn't anything to do with her family. If people knew what she looked like, or know who she was then that was a different matter, but her family didn't spend much time in New Zealand. It was one of those places that existed apart from the young girl's life. The only reason her family ever came was for her and her school. And they hadn't been for a long while. It was just a little boring. She had been bored for so long, so this was a nice break from the usual events that she was used to. For one thing, everyone was casually dressed, unless their costume asked for a little more. She couldn't helped but feel like she hadn't tried hard enough in her costume. It was just a very short cheerleading skirt, and a tight fitting shirt. It wasn't at all what the girl usually wore. It was pretty obvious that no matter what she was happy with what she had pulled together after all this time. It had meant to be the costume she was going to wear for halloween, while she'd been at school in Scotland. She had been away at the time, and had never actually gotten the chance. This time, she was glad to still somewhat fit into them. It was pretty easy to see why she believed she might not, considering that had been about two years before, and Charlotte had changed quite a bit in that time. It was perhaps why everything was smaller than she remembered it being, and tighter. But it wasn't as if she looked bad. In fact it looked pretty good. She was a pretty convincing fake cheerleader who was only in a costume for the evening.

A part of her wondered if she maybe should've gone as something scary, after all that was the point of Halloween. But she hadn't needed that. She hadn't had the costume. So it would've been impossible for her to pull off. That and the thought of doing something that might mean destroying her clothes didn't appeal to the blonde. A girl stood beside her, and spoke. Charlotte looked round, a polite smile on her face. The girl's costume put hers to real shame. She didn't look like she'd put in any thought into hers compared to this girl's. It seemed almost perfect. Charlotte felt like she should be curtseying to this girl's costume. But, tonight she wasn't Charlotte Williams, she didn't need to. The girl looked over the wings, and the dress. The girl was truly in awe of what the other had achieved. "I am, miss ?" The girl gave a pause so that the other one could give her name. "I'm Charlotte. And might I just say that your costume is truly outstanding." Charlotte's British accent clear on her words. "You have put me to shame, my costume is nothing compared to yours." The girl in front of her looked familiar. Like she'd seen her about the house or something. Though, Charlotte couldn't be certain. She had just lately returned to school, so she would have to wait for the girl to give more information before she could say for certain if she had seen her before.

Jordan Vanderhol was a quiet boy. He barely knew anyone in his house, let alone those in the rest of the school. He joined the quidditch team this year to hopefully make new friends but it did not seem to do much good for him. He hadn't really had the chance to talk to many of them besides the chasers and that was during practice to see if they were open for a pass or not. It was upsetting that he had only really made one friend, Star but she seemed to off hiding in the Ravenclaw house since the beginning of the year. Oddly enough the lonely boy decided to put together an outfit and go to the Halloween festivities instead of hiding out in his room alone. The boy's roommates pretty much ignored him most of the time or Jordan wouldn't be there anyways as he often went down to the abandoned classrooms and played his guitar. Besides working on homework alone in the Library all he seemed to really do was play his guitar. His older sisters work on him over the summer and got him to really enjoy Quidditch. He was thinking that if he really liked playing during his school years and his music went no where then he'd join a professional team. But he still had two years after this year to really decided where to go.

Putting on his costume wasn't very hard for him. It was a simple suit, be it all green of course. Then a crown which had an elephant trunk and ears attached to it that he put on his head. Jordan wasn't overly creative so he opted not to get gray paint for all of his visable skin. People would still be able to see the elephant he was trying to be without he thought. Barbar the Elephant, lovely elephant from a children's story. That was him for the evening. Of course he wasn't the size of the creature so he was a very skinny version of the character. He almost wished he came as a musician instead. The guitar on him would make him a lot more comfortable, and much less self concious as the trunk and ears made him. Looking around the Great Hall he only reconized one person and that was Kate Moon as a doll. She was the Quidditch co-captain for his team, but he did not feel comfortable going up to her. Then he saw a pretty blonde as a cheerleader and a familar red-head. As a person who pays a lot of attention, though others may not notice that he does. He knew both were Hufflepuffs and the red head was a Prefect named Cosette. She dated a boy named Raffaelo, or so he heard in the grapevine. It was surprising the things he learned from others when they thought he wasn't paying attention. Going over to them he stared at the ground before looking up at both of them. "Hello, I'm Jordan Vanderhol," he stating to the two girls unsure if they knew him or if either would reconize his somewhat famous last name. His two older sisters in the family he was adopted into both played professional Quidditch.

This being her last Halloween Feast, Cosette couldn't help but me sad at the moment. Sadness just entered into her system yet she faced the crowd with a full heartfelt smile. She didn't want anyone to notice, as she pulled back a strand of her hair back to her ear. Cosette looked at the blonde girl pleased to her hear speak. It was obvious she isn't from New Zealand, neither does Cosette. Facing her, the prefect decided to introduce herself. "Pleasure to meet you Charlotte, I'm Cosette." she offered her hand for a shake. As always her s sounded more like a z's whenever she would speak, she's French after all. She smiled, half-shy about Charlotte compliments. It meant a lot to her, since she put extra effort she can to make her costume lovely as she could ever imagine, not like last year where she dressed as a muggle dj. Just because she didn't have enough materials to work with, a few tracksuit just hanged in the moment. "Oh no, you're costume is lovely dear." she said to her, not wanting to get all the compliments and attention. Cosette always wanted to be fair in all things, even though her siblings never practiced the said word. She smiled and drink some more of her juice a bit nervous to be complimented all day, not that she didn't want to be complimented. It was just too much for her, growing up being noticed and being complimented, it's like everyone though of her as a princess, as a doll and she isn't any of that. Still it was hard, since her sibling would always put her down, while the rest of the world complimented her, Cosette's family would sometimes insult her and that didn't turned out to be a good one to reminisce.

As she stood there making a conversation with the blonde making it work, a new unfamiliar voice lifted the tension. She was about to ask Charlotte a question at that time but someone stopped her, a boy named Jordan. The puff didn't knew him at all, she didn't even heard the name before. Still she remained silent yet her face was full of anticipation and glee, smiling at the boy. "Hello Jordan, I'm Cosette Mayfair a pleasure meeting you as well." just like before, she offered her hand for a shake. She wasn't sure where the boy was from since she couldn't tell by the accent or did he even had one. Cosette wasn't sure, slowly she took another sip the sweetness of the pumpkin juice lingering in her mouth. Scanning the crowd, she made sure to keep her eyes wide open and alert just in case some first years or some students would make a prank that doesn't really end in a good outcome. She hoped everything will go well as planned, she could even barely see some prefects around the place. Maybe they were dressed in a unusual costume for her to recognize. "I'm guessing you both are Hufflepuffs, right? Just like me." Cosetted said to the two, still smiling then taking a few glances at her wings just in case someone would trip or bump her because of it. Anything can happen, especially at a night like this. What would happen during the yuleball? She just thought of it, worrying again in her pretty head. The thoughts started to sink into her head but before it got deep, Cosette tried snap herself back to reality, as she looked at the two puffs unknown of their years. She didn't really knew a lot of people even though they knew her, it was a thing she needed to do, start remembering faces.

Charlotte wn't sure what the real protocol was. She hadn't really ever done Halloween before, and it was all a little new to her. She wasn't the best at figuring these kind of things out. Most of the time she was just told things, how to dress how to act, this was something she clearly needed to figure out alone. Se didn't have that yet. She didn't know because she'd never learned much about Halloween and the real way to talk to people in this very day. She shot the other girl a smile as she introduced herself as Cosette, Charlotte was able to pick up on the slightly French accent that the girl had. She was always glad to meet folks I'm different backgrounds, it was always good fun. Charlotte took the girl's hand and shook it while, involuntarily giving a small curtesy. "The pleasure is all mine Miss Cosette." the girl flashed the usual friendly smile at the other girl. The name was not familiar so she figured that they weren't in the same year. The young blonde had a very good memory as to faces and names, so she imagined that she hasn't ever met this girl before. Which was good, since Charlotte would be pretty embarrassed if she had been unable to remember her. After all Cosette was very clearly beautiful, and very clearly someone who stayed in people's brains. Charlotte looked at her own costume, and then let the hazel eyes drift of to the costume the other girl was wearing. She was puzzled, compard to Cosettes, Charlotte felt completely inaduaqutely dressed. It was just understandable that she felt as such, since she was always being told by her family that she just wasn't good enough. "Thank you, I tried." the girl was still able to be polite. She accepted the compliment like she had always been taught to do. The girl was indeed very polite. She tried hard to be. She wanted to be what her parents desired. So despite this being a night where she could be slightly less about what her family was, she was still a member of her family, and some traits never did fade. No matter how hard a person tried to get them away. It was just a little fact about Charlotte that wasn't going to fade. She just didn't want to bring it up tonight. Most people at Hogwarts had no idea about her family, and who they were on the social chain. And she was very happy for that. Very happy. It meant that these people were never going to go against her and tell any embarrassing stories, or anything to her parents, that they would very much not approve of.

Charlotte had been about to ask the other girl, which house she was in. The girl w pretty sure they were in the same house, but in her mind it never actually hurt to check. So she was willing to do such a thing. However, before she could a boy came up to them and introduced himself. The name rang a bell within the girl. Like she should know the name for some reason. Like it meant something, but it was just that way that Charlotte didn't know much about the people at Hogwarts who had famous relations. Charlotte didn't know much about New Zealand or the wizarding world. She had heard of a few people, some she remember and others that she didn't. The boy that had just joined them, had a completely amazing costume. The blonde really felt like she hadn't tried hard enough in the grand scheme of things. Everyone appeared to have put so much more work in than her. "Good Evening, I'm Charlotte. It is a pleasure to meet you Mr Jordan. And incredible costume. I always loved the books as a child." the girl smiled at the boy, it was true. Her own grandfather had been a fan of the books and had met the author, so all their very old dated copies of the books were signed. But she wouldn't say that. It didn't seem right. Not really the time to bring it up. "Both you and Miss Cosette have chosen superb outfits. I feel as though I was very unimaginative," the girl filled the small silence. Before The other girl spoke again. So hufflepuff, that was good. She was glad to know that. "Yes, but, I haven't been at this school for a few years. I just transfered back." she left it at that, not wanting to go any more into it. After all she really didn't want to be much like her usual self this evening. Not at all. She just wanted to be Charlotte, no family attachments at all.

As the two girls said hello the teen felt relieved. He hadn't ever gone up to people like this before. But then again she was sort of hidden behind the trunk of his face anyways. The blonde explained to the other that she had gone here before, left and then came back. He found it an odd thing to do but prehaps her family had moved. Or she could be like himself adopted into a new family and they took her away from here and only now are letting her come back. He wondered what year she was in. He hadn't seen her in any of his fifth year lessons, so she could be a year older or younger. He was sure he heard someone say she was a 6th year. Cosette was easier to guess it was written on the Hufflepuff board with the list. He knew of the girl. "You both look much better then I," he said softly to the two very pretty girls. He meant it, he wasn't the most attractive boy in the school and he knew that. But it seemed he had found himself between the two prettyist blondes in Hufflepuff here at the Feast. He wondered what exactly a cheerleader was. And found it funny how the blonde, Charlotte thought it was not a creative outfit but it was something he did not know well.

Shifting his weight from one foot to the other foot the boy wondered how long he should bother these two girls. He wanted to make friends and those in his house seemed like a good place to start. It would be easy to make friends on the Quidditch team, but he wanted more than just them. He passed a smile to the both of them but he wasn't sure if the trunk blocked them from seeing it or not. He was glad that Charlotte seemed to know who he was dressed as, it made him feel better about his choice in outfit. The two girls both had accents compared to his New Zealand accent and he wondered where they came from. But it didn't seem appropiate for him to ask. He was much to poliete for such a question when meeting girls. "Do either of you like Quidditch?" THe boy asked the girls looking between them.

It wasn't everyday that Cosette could talk to her fellow puffs, since she's been too busy with her patrolling and the like. The prefect was glad to be able to share this conversation with Charlotte and Jordan, it's been a while since she talked to some students, to her friends. Jake being in particular, she haven't seen him in a month now and she couldn't bear not talking to her boyfriend as well, Raffaelo. Bulgaria's far away, it's too complicated to stay with him after graduation not that she was asked or anything. She just loved him so much and Cosette wanted to spent time with him, a lot. Still she didn't want to leave school just yet, Hogwarts New Zealand started to stick to her, she loved everything about it. Well, excluding her past of course, it was a thing she didn't need to reminisce. As she stood beside Charlotte and Jordan, the prefect looked stunned. That's why she couldn't figure out why the girl looked unfamiliar to her, she was a transfer. Of course Cosette wouldn't recognize her, "Then allow me to welcome you back again." she said to her, smiling. It was always nice to make new friends, and she just hope to gain a new one. She faced Jordan and smiled again, "We all look suberb, how's that?" Cosette told him and then to Charlotte. As expected, Cosette always wanted to be fair, since her siblings isn't fair to her at all. Sometime she'll be smothering everyone with compliments and be all motherly, maybe it's because she never got any admiration from her mother as a child.

For a moment she kept silent, not knowing what to talk about and hoped that one of them would start a topic or something, that was until she heard Jordan speak something about Quidditch. Cosette once tried out for the team for three reasons, one Raffaelo advised her to try the sport out, two she wanted to annoy Dymetris her ex-boyfriend and three out of curiosity. It would be a bit boring for her to never play Quidditch, still she was a member of their team just a year ago. Being a seeker, a position not to be taken lightly. Raffaelo, always wanted to be a seeker but instead decided to be a chaser since he loved the adrenaline boosting in his body. Cosette once watched him play, it was amazing seeing what he can do on the pitch. She really didn't played a game at all but it was nice trying out for the team, her eyes focused on Jordan. Since he seems to be interested with Quidditch, "I do, also I joined for our team last year but it was just for fun and curiosity. What about you? What's your position?" she asked hoping to get the conversation going, she felt happy since she can relate with various topics.
