As many of you know, we like to celebrate the beginning of each month by highlighting a character that has stood out. It could be for a variety of reasons, whether that be a stellar biography, interesting plots, a cool personality, etc. Whatever the reason (and it's usually more than one), we want to showcase them here for you today!

This month, we're spotlighting Nolan Burke, RPed by the wonderful Maria!
For more information on Nolan, make sure to check out his bio, relationships, aesthetics, and playlist!
As is tradition, we asked Maria a couple of questions:
What was your initial thought when you were contacted about being spotlighted?
To be honest, I thought it was just a normal pm about something store related, so I was quite surprised when I opened the pm hehe! Definitely a good surprise!
What was the inspiration for your character?
Honestly, Nolan was just a last-minute character I had made on a whim. I had created Molly first, initially she didn't have any older siblings, but she had given me the vibe of someone who had an older sibling as I roleplayed her more, and so I had made Nolan quickly before sorting had ended lol!
What is your favourite RP that your character has taken part in?
Oh gosh! There are way too many! I always love the roleplays with Eugene and Manaia, those are definitely my faves! But I think the ones I had enjoyed the most roleplaying are 'A Shoulder to Lean on' with Molly, 'Talking it Through' with Manaia and 'Times Like These are Rare' with the Burke siblings! - I know that's quite a few, but it was too hard to decide! haha
What is your favourite aspect of your character?
My favourite aspect of Nolan is that while he is laidback, he always cares about his loved ones and always puts people first before himself. He is very loyal and protective of his loved ones, always the guy to have the shoulder to lean on.
Your least favourite aspect?
Nolan is a pretty sweet guy, however, sometimes he blames himself for a lot of unfortunate situations that happen in his life, which he shouldn't blame himself for. He mainly blames himself for the divorce between his parents. The poor boy deserves something good in his life.
If you could meet your character in real life would you want to? Why or why not?
Oh, I would love to meet Nolan in real life! He seems like a chill guy, and I could definitely see us hanging out and everything! I'd most likely ask him to teach me something on the guitar, and we could talk about music for hours!
What do you feel your strength in developing characters is?
My main strength, I reckon, is developing what my character is like, personality and background-wise. I love creating my character's biography as well as their playlists and aesthetics, it's my favourite thing when developing characters.
Your weakness?
Honestly, saying yes to a lot of plots or doing a lot of threads, replying to a few of them, and then ending up not replying because of life or my muse suddenly disappears. Don't get me wrong, I love my characters and this site so much! But sometimes I reckon I put a lot more threads on me than I can handle, but I also love the challenge! I wanna try and get better at replying to threads and whatnot.
What would you recommend to those looking to further develop their characters?
Oh! That's a wee bit tricky! I think everyone has different ways of developing their characters, so I always enjoy seeing how people develop their characters! I reckon, try and add them to open threads and see where that goes, usually those things lead to fun and chaos lols! Or try and plot threads with other people! I know it's scary! I'm always nervous before I send a msg to someone to plot lols! But it doesn't hurt to try and see where it may lead!
What are you most looking forward to on HNZ in the next several months?
Oooo! That's tricky! There are so many exciting things! I'm defs excited for sorting though! I can't wait to meet the new firsties!
What is your favourite part of HNZ?
This probs gets said a lot, but my favourite is the community of course! Everyone on the site here is nice! I enjoy chatting with everyone (Even though I can be one of the most introverted ppl lols!) and of course roleplaying with people! The community is great!
