Angel had found a friend in a fellow Gryffindor who seemed to share her interest in arts. They were both whispering during Dark Arts class, wishing it was a painting class instead. Sure, the lesson was necessary but the two first years yearned for more. As such, they put their heads together and decided to wander around the castle to search for art classes. They had hurried back to the tower to drop their books, Angel picked up her chalk set, and they raced the stairs down until they reached the courtyard. It was still deserted for other students were still in class. Angel looked around before opening her chalk box. She showed it to her new friend. "Shall we?", she playfully offered. If they could not find an art class, Angel would be content drawing on the walls and floors of the courtyard.

@Ewan Wang

What started out as a joke made in class had quickly turned into one of Ewan's first friendships at Hogwarts. After their class, the Gryffindors had run back to their common room (Ewan almost bundling poor Angel through the portrait hole in an effort to get back to their dorms faster) before hurriedly making their way round the castle in the hopes of finding something that would satisfy their creative impulses. The moment Angel had mentioned chalk, Ewan had had a vision. Memories of drawing on the pavement would be nothing compared to what they could do with the materials and canvas at hand, and the moment they stepped outside, he was ready to go. As Angel offered him her chalk, he went for a nice thick chunky pale blue, rolling it around in his hands for a moment, "Okay okay," Ewan was practically bouncing from one foot to the other. "I'm taking this wall," he motioned to the currently bare piece of brickwork to the left of the door they'd just entered from. He didn't wait a moment longer to see what Angel was planning, before approaching the wall and drawing as largely as he could, something that only a young teenage boy could.

Angel knew there would be a lot of students who have different interests and this made her wonder if a number of people also included arts in those interests. Luckily, she found that person in Ewan in a place she least expected - in the middle of the Dark Arts lesson. Here they are, a bit breathless from all the running but finally made it to the courtyard. "I'm taking the floor.", she announced, choosing white chalk before setting the box down near Ewan's feet. She started to draw the outline before filling in the colors. She thought she would recreate the drawing she did at the playground near their house. They may be muggle characters but she was pretty sure many wizarding kids knew them. The two worked side by side in comfortable silence. She glanced occasionally at Ewan's work and he was actually good. A few minutes more, she squatted on the floor with chalky hands and smears on her face as she looked at her work.

Ewan was starting to colour in his masterpiece, although by the time he'd given it a nice thick outline he was already ready to move on to his next work of art. Glancing down to see what Angel was about to do with her floor space, he watched in awe as she drew, only wishing that he could do something that good. "You didn't say this was going to be a competition!" he said, almost as though it was totally unfair that she had an advantage. Taking a new piece of chalk and a fresh piece of wall, Ewan drew out something that resembled a forest, with trees that was almost as tall as he was, starting from the floor and working their way up to match his height. Taking a note out of Angel's book, he also started to blend the colour in, making it look nice and smooth. His hands were quickly becoming covered in chalk, and turning his head to his new friend behind him, he watched and waited until she wasn't looking, before quickly moving to leave a little hand imprint on her shoulder in chalk.

Angel was just putting in some final touches on her chalk work, occasionally glancing around to see if anyone would see them messing around the courtyard. "Hey, it's not a competition!", she chuckled, glancing at Ewan's work. "Hey, yours is good too!" Forests and landscapes were not really her forte and to see someone who drew them amazed her all the time. She scooted to find a new spot to draw on and this time decided to do a rough art of her new friend. She was so engrossed with her work that she barely notice the touch on her shoulder. It was until she was done and when she looked over her shoulder that she saw it. "Ewan!", she laughed, reaching up to put her own handprint on his back.

OOC: Deepest apologies for the delay.
