After the team's last practice Miro felt he was failing dramatically as a beater. He was improving and actually hitting bludgers, that was undeniable, but hitting them in the right direction when the situation called for it? Impossible, apparently. This was a fact Miro was hoping to change as he ran after Santiago after leaving the pitch that day, hoping to persuade the older Gryffindor into practicing with him, not only so Miro could improve his skills but also so they could work more cohesively as a team. Not that they weren't a team already, but Miro figured it wouldn't hurt to practice more with Santiago so they were unbeatable and more in sync during quidditch games than they had been before. Miro wanted them to be a pair, not only as buddies but also in their flying so they could be both the offense against opposing seekers and defense for their team during Gryffindor's quidditch games. "Hey! Santiago!" Miro called out, face flushed from practice but also from running, slightly out of breath as he sprinted to catch up with the other beater. "I was thinking, we should practice flying and like come up with beater strategies and stuff so I can like match how good you are at flying you know? I think I need some pointers and we can be like unstoppable." Miro blurted out, remembering to breathe again after he had spoken and smiling widely when he could out of hopefulness that Santiago was happy to practice with him as well.

Santiago's arms ached. Getting back into shape after the holidays was always a challenge and even when he was in shape a long day of practice had his arms feeling heavy but in a satisfying way. Still he was eager to get cleaned up and maybe take a nap before dinner when he heard Miro call after him. He stopped walking and was a little caught off guard, not sure what the younger boy wanted to say to him. But before he could say anything himself Miro was going on about more practice and coming up with strategies. "Oh." Santiago said with an awkward laugh and rubbed the back of his neck as the other boy complimented him too. He wasn't sure he was that good but he had been trying to take things more seriously this year. "Uh, yeah more practice couldn't hurt." he said with a shrug. "I'm not sure if I know any beater strategies..." he admitted. When he was playing with Aurora he basically just tried to mimic her, without her, he had just tried to hit anything that came at him.

Miro squared his shoulders, happy that Santiago agreed to practice with him more despite admitting he didn't know of any beater strategies they could work on. He was simply happy for the chance to learn from another member of the quidditch team he looked up to and of course also someone he thought was cute, but that wasn't something he was about to admit as he responded. "Awesome! I don't know of any strategies either, but I figured we could always try and do something iconic and cool if like I hit a bludger towards you and you deflect it towards the seeker, or something cool like that where we're able to hit the seeker no matter where they are on the pitch." Miro explained, not really thinking such a trick would be possible but thinking it would be cool to try. "Can you imagine how cool that would be?? The crowd would go wild and it would help us win!" He exclaimed in an attempt to emphasize his point as he continued smiling wide at Santiago.
