Broken, Forgotten, So...Life pretty much sucks right now.

Kalif put his hand to his head when Kailie went off on Nicolas, but couldn't help but think that it was adorable at the same time. He shook his head and he corrected Nicolas, "Rumors are wrong. Once more you proved your idiocy by believing in them. Alexander turned his back on her, which in turned should have never happened because she should have never fallen for his charms." Technically, Nicolette should have been with him the entire time. But Kalif was not about to admit that. Kalif stepped in the way so that Nicolas could not approach Nicolette anymore. He was about to retrieve his own wand, but had a feeling he wouldn't even need it. Kalif didn't see Nicolas' wand out at all. Instead, he was focused on the blazing golden eyes. Kalif retorted, "Maybe instead of having a failure family that didn't bother to contact her at all, maybe she doesn't belong with you all. She belongs with a family that does care about where she is. For example, she vanishes for a month, maybe more, and my family contacted her and kept her from any harm. What are you all done for her? Nothing. Maybe if you were around, you would recognize her." Kalif's words cut through the air like daggers. The threats that he repeated before were written all over his face. If angered any more, Nicolas was going out that window behind him.

Nicolette's eyes widened in utter horror when Kailie decided to go off on Nicolas and even go as far and purposely poking him in the tight, he better not even think of touching her. But the words that she said made the female Death Eater crack a soft smile, and then the hug that came at the end was just the cherry on top of it all. A small laugh escaped her lips as she smoothed out Kailie's hair and smiled down at her, there was no way she could leave all of this. When the topic of Alexander Moon came up Nicolette bit her lip and began to feel sick, Kalif was right when he said that she never should have fallen for his false charms and lies. "No, he didn't care for me at all. If I remember correctly he wanted me dead, I was a fool for believing him." Nicolette started bitterly, she removed her hand from Kailie and used it instead to wipe at one of her eyes for a moment to make sure that it wasn't extremely obvious on how upset she was getting by being confronted like this. What had she done to make these people all hate her so much? When Kalif stood in the way so Nicolas couldn't approach her anymore she resisted the urge to thank him and instead let her eyes fall down to where she saw that Nicolas had his wand out. 'Please don't let him use any spells, at least don't let him hurt Kalif.' She let her eyes fall over to her brother again before she sighed and wiped at her eyes once more, then they narrowed and shot a glare over to her brother who had said enough.

"I left because I wasn't going to let some mudblood ruin the rest of my life, I changed because I wanted to, and those who have died by my hands deserved it. You know what makes it so sad is that I asked you to leave with me but you didn't have enough guts to do anything but sit there and suffer." Nicolette stated her voice a little due to the fact that she was losing it more and more each second. She had done a lot for this people and yet they treated her like this was all her fault, she never had to heal them or offer them to escape with her but she did and they should have been thankful for it. Then again most of those who were also held there were treated better than she was anyways, still they didn't have to treat her as if she were a traitor or anything. "Lying to me for most of my life wasn't fair to me though, I had to live every single day thinking my only family was dad until I met the family I have now." Nicolette stated once more, her anger dying down a little when she remembered the day she and Kalif had re-met on the streets so long ago, she never did see it getting this far but she was happy it did.

"Along with that, I belong with these people more than I've ever fit in with you. They have treated me like family, protected me, and managed to be there whenever I needed someone but you all just ignored me and lied to me. Nicolas, I'm staying with them whether you like it or not. Now maybe you should put your wand away." Nicolette stated as he arms went back to Kailie, she hoped the little girl wasn't scared or anything but she seemed just content hugging her and everything. Nicolette's golden eyes shifted to Kalif once more, she wasn't worried about her brother as long as he was here.

Nicolas almost flinched when some little girl came out and started to yell at him for insulting her mother and saying that she didn't belong with them, which he assumed must have been Nicolette. When she jabbed him in the thigh and called him a big baby he rolled his eyes then allowed them to follow her to his sister who was now being hugged by the little girl, from the looks of what he had just seen his younger sister was a very good mother and for a fraction of a second he thought of his own mother. Nicolas was cut off by Kalif when he stepped in so he could not approach Nicolette anymore and Nicolas couldn't help but groan under his breath at the man for being so protective of her. "Do you have to keep getting in the way? It's not like I'm going to hurt her or anything." Nicolas stated at his sisters husband with distaste, once all of this was settled and him and Nicolette got along better he would probably end up going into protective older brother mode over this guy. He crossed his arms over his chest and turned his head into the direction of the room his sister had come from, was that Hades guy in there along with the baby that had the same eyes as he did? Nicolas opened his mouth to say something to them but Nicolette cut him off by speaking instead, what she said was explaining a lot to him.

"Tell me something Nicolette, are you proud? Proud of the low-life you've become? You have become exactly what mother and father were and it disgusts me." Nicolas let his eyes lower down to his wand as he moved it from his side a little, he wasn't going to attack them but he had almost forgotten that he was even holding it. Nicolas wanted things to go back the way they were, but if his sister thought she was doing the right thing and wasn't even going to go over the fact that maybe she should be back with the Hensel's then he was finished with her.

"Like I can trust you," intoned the Death Eater. Kalif though thought that he had heard enough, but the next thing that flowed from the man's mouth pushed a button of Kalif's. No one was going to call his wife a low-life and get away with it. Kalif stepped forward, gripped the professor by the robes, and with a mighty swing of strength, he attempted to throw Nicolas across the hallway, out a window, luckily for him, it was a door made of glass to portray a window. Nicolas would not fall two stories, but he would just roll on the balcony. The sounds were loud, and they were rushed. Kalif got a grip of his darker side before he would go in for the kill. Surely, Nicolas had to have been somewhat injured because of the glass. A few cuts here and there. Kalif shrugged over at Nicolette and he muttered, "I need to work on my anger, I know." He walked through the broken debris, and he bent down next to Nicolas. He flourished his wand, and with a wave, it healed whatever injuries were inflicted. "Look, I don't take kindly to someone insulting my wife unless it is by me. You want to insult her, do it all you want when I am not around. I know what it is like to be a big brother, believe me, but I do know I will go farther than you to protect Nicolette. I would kill for her if it came down to it. Now, unless you want to have a pleasant conversation, without insults, you are free to speak like a man. If you want to continue to throw a tantrum bigger than Kailie's, then leave before I end up dropping you to the ground. I don't think I can heal two broken legs and a broken neck." Kalif stood up straight, and allowed the man to make his choice.

Nicolette could not even retort back to her brother because Kalif had stepped in once again and did something she had never expected to see him do to anyone. He gripped her older brother by his robes and threw him out a glass door that led to a balcony outside, the glass immediately shattered and left small shards all over the floor and balcony, Nicolas would probably be really banged up from that. A small gasp came from her lips, but it was soon followed by a soft smile when Kalif shrugged over at her and stated that he knew he needed to work on his anger. "Don't worry about it." She replied softly before she walked him walk through the debris and start to walk over to her brother and actually heal him which was surprising for him when she was pretty sure he didn't like to heal people or anything like that after causing injuries to someone. Softly Nicolette told Kailie that she should stay there for a moment and that she would be right back before she also head over to where the two men were. Careful not to step on any class or anything she carefully gazed at her brother before her eyes turned to her husband.

"He means it Nicolas, and I won't be healing you either." She could easily heal all of that but she was pretty sure that even if she wanted to Kalif wouldn't let her heal her brother if he continued to go very bad. The words that Kalif had also spoken made her want to glomp him like she always did whenever she was really happy but decided now was not the time, her more serious side told her she needed to quit that anyways.

Nicolas scoffed when Kalif intoned that he didn't really trust him, it wasn't like it really affected him that his little sister's husband didn't trust him, okay maybe it did but he wasn't going to let it bother him. What he wasn't expecting though was to be grabbed by the robes by him, then with a force almost considered inhuman to Nicolas had throw him either out the second story window or something else that must have been made of glass because if the shattering her heard. Expecting to hit the ground and either be killed or severely injured he was surprised when he only felt himself land on the balcony roughly, the thing he had been thrown through was nothing but a glass door from what it looked like. 'Did he have poor aim or did he throw me here on purpose?' Cuts were all over his body not to mention a nasty looking cut on his arm, his robes would need to be sewn up there because of the large hole in his robes. When Kalif walked over through the debris and bent down next to him Nicolas nearly backed away in fear that he would get thrown again but relaxed when he only saw the man heal him. "Why did you heal me?" Nicolas asked a little confused, why throw someone out a window just to end up healing them again, but he was grateful that the man hadn't killed him still he couldn't help but be a little suspicious. Then he heard Kalif tell him why he had gotten so upset and Nicolas' golden eyes widened in partial shock over what he was hearing, especially when he said he knew what it was like to be a big brother.

"You sound a little protective. But killing for her seems a little ridiculous don't you think" Nicolas wasn't one to ever agree with killing so that just went over his head to begin with, but to have someone actually care for someone that much was a little surprising for someone who had seen very little love in his lifetime to hear. Letting a soft escape leave his lips he decided it wasn't worth losing any limbs or his life over especially when he wanted nothing then to just have things between his sister be like before things got bad with James. "Fine, you want a pleasant conversation then you'll get one. Will you be present for that one too?" Nicolas asked warily as he pushed some of his hair out of his face, he figured that there was something even Kalif would find interesting, if his sister would even be willing to speak about it. Then again he wasn't all that sure if Nicolette's husband was into the Dark Arts like his family was or anything.

"Cause I work with you. We can't afford to hire out again," Kalif answered. He couldn't afford to have someone out there that worked with him that he couldn't threatened legally cause they weren't related him by blood. "Not if that person was about to kill her." Kalif intoned quietly. He extended his gloved hand out to help Nicolas on his feet. As long as Nicolas would stay calm, Kalif wouldn't have to kill him. Not yet that is. Kalif wouldn't mind having to kill someone else. Kalif no longer really cared about anything. "Yes I will be present. Like I said, I don't trust you alone with my wife; especially when you are being a child and pissed off at her for something that isn't her fault." Kalif sighed a bit, knowing that he would need to repair that door.

Nicolette could only watch nervously as Kalif and Nicolas interacted with one another, it seemed that they were no longer going to kill one another but she figured she should still be weary while the two of them were around one another. Both of them were stubborn and most likely had different ideas of how to act around and treat her, besides brothers-in-law rarely get along at first anyways. "So he really works at Hogwarts and everything?" At first she thought he was only kidding or was just confused about Nicolas working as a Professor, she just couldn't see her brother ever being the sort to go around teaching others. Then again if Kalif could work at the school and actually manage to not destroy anything or anyone there perhaps her brother could manage to do it just fine. Before she could say anything else she heard one of the twins call her name, well rather called for Mom and she could easily tell which that was too as only one of them ever spoke. Nicolette turned her golden eyes just in time to see baby Nicolas trying to make his way over to where Nicolas and Kalif were. Since there was glass and everything all over the balcony she wasn't going to even dream of letting him over there and picked up up easily off the ground. He whined a little that he wasn't allowed to go anywhere but instead she held him close to her and kissed his forehead, he was such a troublemaker.

"Are you sure you want to hang around Kalif? I think we should downstairs though, I can help fix the door later if you'd like." Actually in all honesty she hoped he really would want to stay around because she was fully trusting her brother to be calm and not bring up touchy subjects around her. He said he would since he didn't trust him either, and that allowed Nicolette to relax a little. Also all this standing up and stress was bothering her a little as well, she figured if they all sat down and talked everything would be better. With her head she motioned for them to follow if they were going to or not.

When the Herbology Professor held out his hand to offer him assistance to get up Nicolas hesitantly took Kalif's hand and got onto his feet, he was beyond thankful now that he worked with the man because in the end it seemed that it what had saved his life, either that or the presence of his sister. He turned to glance at his sister for a moment before he sighed and ran his hand through his thin brown hair. "Thank you. And yes Nicolette I do work at the school. I work as a Potions Professor, and you should be all too familiar with that since you were the one that taught me all about it." Nicolas answered her easily remembering how she used to boss him around and instruct him through making a lot of potions and and learning how to deal with their ingredients properly, she knew a lot and had passed it all down to him. He remembered finding it odd how she was so good with potions when everyone knew that Transfiguration was her real forte here. Once again Nicolas found it a little odd and overwhelming to think that someone would actually murder for another, maybe that was why Nadia had died so easily, because he wasn't willing to give up his own life to protect hers. "Even if it meant risking your own life? Your crazy, and like I said...you shouldn't worry about it. I won't harm her." The golden eyed man responded softly crossing his arms over his chest as he muttered what he had to say, soon a small child appeared and Nicolas tensed a little at the very thought of being around a descendant and child of his sister, he never expected her to ever be a mother. This child had silver eyes though so he pushed it aside as not being the one that he had run into the other day when he had met Kalif for the first time. He almost wished he could home the child but was unsure if either of the kids parents would let him after all of this. When Nicolette told them they should come inside and follow her, he looked at Kalif with a raised eyebrow before he followed his sister to wherever she was taking them. After following her for a bit It appeared that she had led them to a living room, she sat down and he wondered if her husband was alright with him being there. Nicolas sat across from his sister and sat back from his arms crossing his chest.

"Kalif, did you by any chance go to Hogwarts?" For a moment he almost felt like he recognized this man or something, or at least the first name sounded familiar to him for some reason. Nicolas had only spend one year at school with his sister before he Graduated so he could be mistaken for someone else, it seemed so hard to believe that they were so much older now than the had been back then. Nicolas shook his head softly, he hated it. "Niccy you've changed so much, I don't know if you remember or anyone actually remembers how differently you used to ask. You were so much less..calmer." He remembered his sister being cruel and hotheaded back, he didn't know if Kalif knew who she was back in those days but she was truly a menace to anyone who did know her. Maybe that was why she was sorted into Slytherin, and why she was the only one sick and cruel enough to go around murdering people and saying that they deserved it when no one deserved to die like that.

After Kalif assisted Nicolas onto his feet, he told Kailie to back with Jaken and the others. He stepped through the glass, and though he didn't say anything about him risking his own life, it was fairly obvious he would. After going into the living room, Kalif loomed over toward the fireplace. He stood, staring at the siblings. There was a lot of resemblance. After a while, he might be able to let Nicolas talk to Nicolette alone, but not right now. Especially not while she was pregnant. "You would be surprised just how far I will go to protect my wife. It is how it should be," that was all that came from the man's mouth. Perhaps it was true. A Zhefarovich blood like himself had found his rightful mate. It was rare, but not unheard of. Kalif nodded once, "Slytherin." He was, at the time, Kalif Zhefarovich III. But now he is simply Kalif Styx. The legacy and the shame that was brought upon his name was thrown away, and he had started afresh, all for the sake of his family.

Kalif rolled his eyes, "She isn't very calm anymore. I don't ever remember her being calm. Though with her friends, she is a lot happier than a normal person under the influence of the family." He glanced over at Nicolette, and he shook his head, "No. Not while you are still pregnant. You should know better than to ask such tasks." Kalif folded his arms across his chest, glanced down at the fireplace, and it came to life with a soft flame. Ah, the wonders of magic. Kalif gazed at the siblings once more, and wondered if he had ever lost contact with his own, would they have wanted to attack him like so? Axel had not, and he barely knew Kalif.

Nicolette let her gold eyes shift to Kalif as he loomed over toward the fireplace gently, even though it seemed that her brother was a bit intimidated by him she didn't want to let her guard down in case Nicolas decided to try anything to harm or bother him. She easily remembered back to when she and her brother were still being held captive and under the watchful eye of James and she was teaching him everything she knew about potions and some basic idea on various ways to heal a person in case they would ever need it. "But still, letting you teach at a school? Thats just an accident waiting to happen." Nicolette rolled her eyes at her brother, as much as she loved him and was proud that he was using what he had learned from her she disliked that he was going to be around a lot of people she was close with. Nicolas could be a bit of an accident prone person at times too, but it was mostly because she just didn't trust him to be around her family just yet. A soft smile came to Nicolette's face when she heard Kalif talk about protecting her, in his own way it was probably one of the sweetest things she had heard from him in awhile, she knew he meant it too. If only she could protect him like he often protected her. "Kalif and I were in the same house and year until my fifth year." The blonde stated after a moment, it seemed so long ago when they were both in school and weren't Death Eaters and everything, but she still remembered it and would probably never forget it now. Her husband was also now the Slytherin Head of House, she was very proud of him and frankly thought he deserved it.

Shrugging her shoulders she had to agree that she wasn't as calm, sure she had mellowed out a little bit from when she first came to New Zealand but she was nowhere being stone cold like her new family was. As the time past though she was slowly beginning to lose herself to the darkness. "I just wanted to help." She crossed her arms over her chest softly and leaned back against the couch, being pregnant just sucked the fun out of so many things even if she could understand why he wouldn't let her. Her eyes shifted to her brother before they narrowed at his response to her changing so much, lightly with her foot she jabbed him in the leg as if to tell him to shut up. "I'd prefer if you didn't bring up the past Nicolas." She stated rather calmly but there was an edge in her voice that showed that she was not up to being reminded about all her suffering and stupidity in her youth. Nicolette was happy now and preferred to focus on that instead of her past.

Nicolas kept a watchful eye on his sisters husband, he was very careful and wary around the man so he tried his best not to attract a large amount of attention to himself. "I'm almost afraid to ask how far you are willing to go. Is it really worth it to risk your own life..over her?" He could feel his sister glare at him and all he could was shrug at her, it was no secret that he was a bit selfish and often preferred to make sure his life stood over everyone else's, perhaps Kalif's family had different values than he remembered his family having while they were still alive. Her turned his head to snort at Nicolette when she decided to speak about him being a teacher, the last part of her comment made him ticked off enough to the point where he took his hand and whacked her upside the hard harshly, he didn't like the way she was speaking to him. "Keep it up and I'll smack you again." He hissed grouchily, forgetting momentarily that his sister was pregnant and that he often hit harder than he had intended to hit the person in the first place. Nicolas suddenly remembered where he had seen him from now, sorting for the first years is where he had heard that name before. For a moment it was hard to believe that Kalif was in fact younger than he was, he seemed to act nearly a hundred times older then Nicolas did, it was sort of intimidating. "Ah, I remember the day you were sorted into Slytherin, both of you. Though I remember you having a different name back then." He couldn't exactly recall the name or anything but he just didn't recall Styx ever being in the school around that time, did he change it or something? Nicolas shifted some of his soft hair our of his eyes and glanced between his sister and the man in the room nervously, did Nicolette tell him the whole issue with her not coming back to school that year or not, he didn't want to raise any attention if he didn't.

"Thats not the way I remember her, the Niccy I remember was nothing but a hot-headed pain in the a** who did nothing but get me into trouble." He snorted at Nicolette before he peered curiously at Kalif when he said that his sister wouldn't be able to help him fix the door, he must have been very forward with her staying out of trouble while she was pregnant. Suddenly he grew curious about the child she was carrying and stared at his sisters stomach curiously. "So...is the baby a boy or a girl?" He pointed to Nicolette's stomach, he knew that she already had twin boys but other than that he hadn't even known that she was pregnant until just recently, it made him a little uncomfortable that his sister was actually, well to put it blunt doing stuff with some man but she as an adult so it wasn't like he couldn't complain.

Kalif raised his eyebrows at Nicolas' threat. "You won't be doing any smacking anymore." Kalif raised his eyebrows, and he took this for a warning, and only one. He wouldn't see that again. Not in his roof. Kalif shrugged lightly when Nicolas noted that he had a different last name. "Boy. Bothizar Dmitri Styx." That would be it. Kalif said nothing more at this point. He didn't feel the need to. Just here to watch over Nicolas and Nicolette. Just to be sure that nothing here happened that wasn't meant to happen. A calm conversation, and that was what was going to happen here today.

Nicolas rolled his eyes and gave his sister a glare when he heard Kalif tell him that he would be doing anymore smacking, once again the fact that the man was so protective of Nicolette was endearing but just something that the golden eyes male would not get so easily. However he would comply and hold the hostility for her and everything else off until she wasn't pregnant and he didn't have to worry about her husband coming in with a threat or something. "Well I must say. I'm excited to have another little nephew in the family. But I do have to get going as well, I left my own kids with Annex and he can last only so long with those four. I'll see you around Niccy, and you at school Kalif. Don't let anything happen to her." It was true that his own kids had to be a handful and since Nicolas was being closely watched he couldn't really say or do much to his sister anyways, hopefully more visits would be allowed and Nicolas could indeed become more acquainted with his newer family. Without another word he nodded at them before he headed off towards the door.
