Molly missed her friends while she was on break and was always happy to see them when she returned to Hogwarts. She had missed them a lot. The Hufflepuff girl sat on one of the comfy couches in the student lounge, as she had made plans to hang out with Gwen. She always enjoyed spending time with Gwen and considered the girl one of her close friends. As she awaited for her friend, her cat Gumdrop sat on her lap, she giggled as her cat purred at her touch. "You're so silly Gumdrop. Maybe we can do your nails or something later" Molly said to her cat, even though she already knew that her cat wouldn't talk to her back.

Gwen was eager to catch up with Molly. She felt like she hadn't quite spent enough time with her friend last year, and it was nice to keep up with her. Molly wasn't a needy friend, but Gwen still wanted to know she could count on her when she needed to. She spotted her friend in the student lounge, being kind of embarrassing with her cat. That silly behavior was one of the downsides of surrounding herself with Hufflepuffs. Gwen rolled her eyes. "You're not really doing your cat's nails, right?" She asked as she took a seat near Molly. "I can't think of a worse waste of time."

Molly quickly looked up when she heard Gwen's voice. She smiled up at her friend as she was about to greet her, but had frowned a little at the girl's words. Molly honestly had no idea what to say at the moment. While she would totally paint her cat's nails, what Gwen had said had torn down her spirits a little. Molly quickly smiled and shook her head. "Psh, nooo, I totally wasn't going to do that at all," Molly said with a small chuckle, denying the fact she would do such a thing, But deep down she was maybe a little pained at the idea that it may have been a bad idea to do so.

Gwen laughed, though she could tell her words had stung Molly. She pretended not to notice, smoothing down her skirt. "How have you been? How was your break?" She asked Molly as she checked her nails. She didn't really care that much about the answer, but it was polite to at least ask.

Molly frowned a little at the question, flashbacks of her bad break flashing through her brain, but she quickly replaced that with a smile that she had hoped was convincing. "I'm good. Break was good" Molly replied quickly with a nod. "How was yours?"
