It was a compliment and an insult when Kate asked why Jake like London so much. He liked it simply because it was his home, it was where he came from. You just love the place where you were born, you couldn't help it in any way possible. At least that's what it felt like to him. "I was born there, did you think I was going to hate it" Jake asked in a sarcastic yet joking tone, he hoped that Kate wouldn't take it in the wrong way, he didn't mean it in a way that would insult her, he meant it in a stating the obvious sort of way. He wouldn't dare to be mean to one of his first friends at Hogwarts, or one of his first friends in New Zealand. Kate was both, he hoped that she appreciated that, he knew that he did. He was glad that Kate was one of his friends, she was trustworthy, sweet and Kind. He could never ask for a better friend.
It was comforting and knew, this hug that he had just received from Kate, Jake wasn't used to hugs but he hugged her back as tightly as she had hugged him, he wasn't about to throw away the friendship that he and Kate had. Jake meant it when he said that he would take her to Ireland, they had just met but it felt like a lot longer. Jake wasn't one to break promises, he would take her back, when they were a little older of course. Maybe when he was old enough to drive, he just needed to find out a way he could pay for it. He had never thought he was going to take somebody on a trip to another country but he had promised he was going to and he couldn't get out of it. Not that he wanted to get out of it, Kate was nice and Jake couldn't imagine going to Ireland with anybody else. "You're a good friend too, Kate" Jake said still trying to comfort her, she wasn't crying properly anymore but he wanted to make sure.
