50th anniversary celebrations
There are things happening around the school! As many will have noticed, the school is in its 50th IC year, which is obviously an amazing achievement. There will be many additional things happening around the school for this, and you'll be able to check them out, for the moment you can head on over here for the current event.
Week 4
We are in week 4, so this is a reminder to all professors that they should be posting lessons for week 4 and a reminder to all students that the lessons are coming in fast and if you want those grades you are going to need to keep up.
New shopkeepers
We have a couple of new shopkeepers, Marisol Woods has taken over Quality Quidditch Supplies and Cornell Browne has taken over Madam Malkins. Join us in congratulating them both and wishing them the best with their stores.
Quidditch
As ever, the quidditch season is underway, with the first game already having taken place. It is perhaps in the running for shortest ever game, but Gryffindor caught the snitch in just a couple of posts. The next game is Hufflepuff vrs Slytherin, and we'll see if that last any longer.
Halloween Feast!!
The joys of Halloween have been upon us for a few days now, be sure to check out all the threads and all the costumes that people wore to enjoy the celebrations with their characters. Stay tuned to find out which characters won costume prizes!
Character Spotlight
This month we have spotlight the character: Aurora Hume, played by Jess! This is an amazing, fun character and I cannot wait to see all the things she gets up to at the school. Head on over Here to read the announcement.
Lesson reminder
For Professors, we're asking that people mark which lessons they are currently using their areas. This is useful for the admin to know which lessons to use if we're needing to cover, and for anyone new coming in to know what to use.
Anniversary
Is it your HNZ-versary? That's the anniversary of when you first joined HNZ, mine is coming in December, I think it's been 17(ish) years for me. If you'd like to have yours in the official HNZ calendar, then please contact the admin with the details.
Book Club
The HNZ book club is still going strong, and we'll be heading before you know it into a new year (2026) and that means new months to organise books for. If you'd like to sign up to lead on a book club, please speak to Cyndi, this is first come first served, so do it before it's too late.
