Beauxbatons Quidditch Practice

Theodore continued on his merry way around the pitch, periodically wiping droplets of rain from his hands to keep them as dry as possible for the snitch, if he were to find it. He really wanted to get it first again, and beat Elvira, but he didn't think it would be possible. He'd just gotten lucky last time.

Maia caught up to the bludger she'd been following and aimed it towards Theodore this time. Unfortunately for her, it went wide and completely missed her target.

Celine kept her eyes on Brendan as he swept around the pitch and tightened her grip on her broom, ready to shoot off in whichever direction was needed.

It was hard for Elvira to keep her focus on finding the snitch, as she was very interested in what the rest of the players were doing. She caught herself watching Nadine as she attempted to score and then wait for Brendan to do the same. She realized she had been hovering in mid-air without doing anything and quickly snapped out of it. She had a task to do, and that was to catch the snitch.

Nadine felt some pride about what Celine had said to her and gave the girl a small smile. She watched with interest as Brendan took the ball from Celine and made half a lap around the pitch. She was eager to learn more about being a chaser, and Brendan was the best the team had to offer.

Theodore continued his zig-zagging through the air, keeping an eye out for the metallic glint of the snitch, or a bludger. It seemed he was safe for now, and for that he was glad, but it felt like only a matter of time before he'd take a bludger hit.

Brendan's attention was focused solely on Celine and the three hoops, trying to find the weakest spot to make his shot. As the chaser entered the scoring zone, he lifted the quaffle and windmilled his arm around to gain more momentum. He faked out making a shot toward the left-most hoop, but at the last second released it toward the right. It sailed through, and Fulke raised his fist in the air triumphantly. It always felt good to make a successful shot, and Celine was a tough person to get past.

Celine tried her best to stay ahead as Brendan executed his throw, but she just wasn't fast enough to catch up with the feint he used. She gave her captain a wry smile as the Quaffle was tossed back out – defending against Brendan was always a challenge, but she was glad for it. The team had to be at the top of their game come time for them to play the New Zealand school.

Jamies had been hanging back during this game so far, but he pushed forward as the quaffle was thrown back out and began heading towards hoops to try his hand at scoring, since he knew he had to get good soon. He had to improve.

Maia was starting to get annoyed at the other Beaters, as it seemed like she was the only one trying to hit bludgers towards the other players. Circling around the Quidditch pitch, the girl hoped that the other two would soon join her in attacking the team.

Jamies continued to push forward with the ball under his arm, he urged the broom to move quicker so he could get a chance at goals quicker.

Celine kept her eyes on Jamie as he approached the scoring zone. Failing to save a shot always felt a tiny bit frustrating on her part, and she wasn't keen for it to happen again.

Maia sent the bludger towards Theodore but saw that it went wide once more. How many bludgers she would have to hit with her bat before it would hit the target finally she did not know, but she was determined to continue to hit the other players.

Blissfully unaware of the fact Maia was targetting him, Theodore continued his merry search of the snitch, to no avail.

As soon as Jamie got close enough he threw the ball, but it was clear he needed more practice since it sailed right into the keepers hands. He needed more time to get good at that clearly. He just needed practice.

Elvira kept an eye on Theodore as well as the three beaters in the field, but she knew she should try not to focus too much on the team and more on finding the snitch. But her competitive side wanted to beat Theodore, and her self-preservation side wanted to stay away from the beaters. She'd already been hit this practice.

Nadine had been hovering near the hoops, trying her best to get her hands on the quaffle so she could try again. She had watched Jamie grab it and take his turn, but couldn't help feel a bit better when he missed as well. At least she wasn't the only one failing so far. After his attempt, Nadine flew closer to grab the ball before starting on her lap.

Celine relaxed her guard as Jamie's attempt landed squarely in her hands. She didn't let the feeling last for too long though, and as she threw the Quaffle back out she focused once more on the latest chaser to take possession.

Maia, who had been circling around the pitch for what felt like an eternity to find herself another bludger, finally spotted one at the other end of the pitch. She sped towards it, stretching her arm while doing so. Maia was going to hit this one, she was sure of that. Swinging her bat against the iron ball hard, she watched it collide with the youngest Seeker.

It was difficult for Fulke to keep his attention on anyone but the chasers, as the quaffle exchanged multiple hands in attempt after attempt to score, but by the sounds of it everything was going fine. For now. The redhead thought he heard a distant shout, but it wasn't his problem for the time being, his eyes instead on Nadine and the leather bound ball as he followed its progress across the pitch.

There was no escaping the bludgers. Theodore should have known this, but he'd hoped he'd be safe this practice, and that after the last he wouldn't be targeted again. The reality of how silly that hope was hit him in the form of an iron ball, coming out of nowhere despite how hard he'd tried to keep an eye out for them in order to avoid them. Crying out in pain, Theo stopped his broom in midair and brought both hands to his face, a torrent of heavily muffled swear words pouring from his mouth as he waited for the pain to die down.

Elvira was trying her best to find the snitch, but couldn't help flinching a little as she noticed Maia hit another bludger. But this one wasn't headed in her direction, instead it hit Theodore. Elvira felt a twinge in her chest as she watched him. As annoying as it was when he did better than her, she did feel protective of him. Without hesitation, she flew over. "Hey, it's okay... deep breaths." She said, surprised by the swear words she could make out. She hadn't thought he would know any of those.

Nadine flew up to the hoops, but in passing noticed Brendan was watching her as she made her scoring attempt. The thought made her stomach jump, as she knew he was the best chaser on the team and would doubtlessly see anything wrong about her form or technique. Too preoccupied with this, her actual attempt wasn't as good as it could have been. She realized too late she was being too predictable, and Celine caught it easily. Annoyed and embarrassed, Nadine zoomed off before anyone could say anything to her.

Elvira looked away from Theodore as the youngest chaser tried to score, but she failed. She sighed, returning her attention to the boy in front of her. She hoped he would be okay, and wouldn't leave his side until he told her he was. Hopefully, these practices wouldn't traumatize him to the point where he would leave the team. She was counting on him to take over for her when she graduated.

Maia was happy that she managed to hit Theodore but couldn't help to feel a little guilty too. She didn't want to hurt any of them but she had to in order to make sure she wouldn't get rusty. Hopefully, the youngest Seeker wouldn't get hit by the other Beaters.
