Beauxbatons,PracticeStill new to her position as captain, Elvira had never hosted a practice before. She had attended plenty, but quickly found out actually planning one was a little more difficult than she had anticipated. For one thing, she had neglected to look at the weater in advance. Now it was raining, though thankfully not very hard. If anyone complained, she would just point out it could also rain during the match. Hopefully no one would, though. She was fairly sure they had a sturdier team than that.

She waited at the Quidditch Pitch for everyone else to arrive, hoping to see Brendan arrive quickly so he could support her if she needed. As confident as she was in most things, she felt unsure about leading this group of people. Why would they listen to her? She wasn't better than any of them. Sure, the seeker was an important position on the team, but Theodore had proven again and again that he was almost as skilled as Elvira was. It bothered her a little, and she hoped to be able to hide the resentment from the younger boy. She was at least glad Brendan hadn't taken her captain's badge away from her after the last practice. Now she just had to do better this time. She waited for the team to arrive, mentally going over what she would say to them once they did.

Even though it wasn't raining as much as it had during one of their practise sessions, it was certainly enough to put a damper on the fourth years mood. She wanted to do well no doubt but the idea that she was going to miss her targets because of the weather did little to put her at ease. Once she was dressed and ready, she waited for the rest of the team to join them, remaining quiet and hoping that no one was going have words with her after her last practise match.

She headed over to join her teammates and smiled at them, thankful that it wasn't raining that hard. She had thought it'd be snowing by now so to see that it was raining when she looked out the window was a pleasant surprise. Maia put her broomstick down on the ground and waited for the others to join them as well, remaining quiet whilst she was waiting.

Celine was on two minds about the practice today. On one hand, she liked practices and wanted to support Elvira today as she ran her first one, but on the other ... it was raining. Even though it was barely anything, really, Celine still grumpily squinted at the sky from under her umbrella charm. She knew Elvira hadn't done this on purpose, but the rain always made her more grumbly than usual. Celine settled for shooting her friend a quick smile, but then stayed silent as she waited for practice to begin. It was wishful thinking, but maybe the rain would stop before they had to kick off into the air.

Nadine was a little embarrassed about the way she had behaved during the previous practice and looked forward to having a chance to redeem herself a little. The bludgers had hurt, but she knew she shouldn't have shouted at the beaters for it. Now she looked away from them and focused on the captain, counting the minutes until they could take to the air and she could prove her worth to the team.

The last practice had been somewhat of a disaster and Grace really wanted to hit some bludgers today. She hoped her teammates had gotten over last time, though she was unsure whether they actually were. She met the team and sent a quick smile at them all, waiting with them while the others arrived. It was raining, and Grace wondered whether that would affect her chances at hitting anything but she didn’t comment, deciding to remain quiet. She didn’t want to be on the captains’ bad sides after all.

There was a sense of deja vu when it came to the day's practice. Fulke's first time organising it the previous year had also resulted in some poor weather conditions, and he hadn't realised until now that it was something he probably should have mentioned to Elvira to plan around. It was all a part of the learning experience overall, trial and error, and since he'd been in the same position he could hardly blame her for it. At the very least, it wasn't nearly as bad as the last practice downpour, so hopefully the team would keep in high spirits. A little rain never hurt anybody.

Arriving at the pitch, the chaser greeted his co-captain and the others gathered. The thought to offer out Impervius charms crossed his mind, but it wouldn't be the end of the world without them, and might have cut too much into the time they had for the practice itself.

Rain was the worst. The water made the snitch that much harder to hold on to, and the fluttering ball was already slippy enough as it is. Theodore wasn't looking forward to the practice ahead for this reason, and because the last practice hadn't gone down so well either, but he tried to look enthusiastic about it as he arrived on the pitch with the others. Today already felt like it was going to be a challenge to get through.

Once the team had arrived, Elvira gave Brendan a quick smile before addressing everyone. "Hello! Uh. Welcome, I guess." She said, gesturing to the pitch awkwardly. "You guys know the drill by now. We're going to practice as if it's a normal game." She paused, thinking of what to say. "So no getting mad at the beaters for doing their job. But beaters, do try to avoid hitting people that were already hit. We don't want serious injuries." She shrugged, glancing at Brendan again before gesturing up to the air. "Celine, take the south hoops. Chasers, do half a lap before trying to score again. That's all, let's go practice!" With that, she released the balls and shot into the sky, not wanting to see how her team reacted to her strange and not all that professional speech. She was here to play, not talk.

OOCOut of Character:
Practice will be last 2 weeks! Remember activity is very important for the future of the Beaxbatons team on the site, so we hope you all participate! If you can't be a part of any practice, please PM me or Jesse to let us know.

Maia was happy that Elvira addressed the problem half of the squad was having with the Beater-play from last training session and nodded her head, reminding herself to keep track of who the Beaters would hit today so people wouldn't get hit a second time if not necessary. When Elvira released the balls, she pushed herself off the ground and chased after a bludger immediately. As Maia closed in on the iron ball, she stretched out her right arm and once close enough to hit it properly, swung her bat against the bludger. She watched as it soared towards the oldest Seeker on the team and smiled apologetically. If she could continue this the whole time she'd be really happy.

Cheryl made her way to the practice. She liked being part of the team and spending time with her teammates. The blonde smiled at the others as she came closer and listened to the team captain. It was clear that she had to do a half lap since they only had Celine. But it seemed like Celine was only what they needed. Cheryl thought she was a good keeper. When the practice began, she smiled and quickly flew to the quaffle and catched it. She flew with the quaffle under her arm towards Celine. Cheryl hoped that she would score soon.

Elvira was looking around to see if everyone on the team was starting the way they were supposed to, when a bludger collided with her side. The air was knocked out of her, and she was wheezing slightly as she turned to look at Maia. That was one way to start off. Hesitantly, she gave the girl a weak thumbs up before flying as far away from her as she could. That girl was someone to watch out for.

As Celine listened to Elvira begin the practice, even the rain couldn't stop her from smiling at her friend's particular style of doing so. Once finished, Celine begrudgingly broke off her umbrella charm and mounted her broom, and soon she was soaring off towards the southern end of the pitch to guard the hoops there. She swung around and soon had her eyes fixed on Cheryl. She was becoming a player to look out for.

Brendan grinned at Elvira's awkward start to the practice. With any luck she'd be more confident by the time he was gone, and he trusted her to be able to handle it on her own. It was good too, that she had specifically mentioned the Beaters, and advised them to spread out their targets. Hopefully there wouldn't be any complaints this time around. Mounting his broom, the redhead took to the sky as soon as they were let go, and was pleased to see Cheryl taking possession of the quaffle first. Keeping close, Fulke followed the younger girl toward the hoops in case she needed assistance.

Being called out never felt good, and although it was indirect, Theodore knew he was one of those people who'd been upset over the beaters doing their job. That was fair, but he'd really felt like Fletcher was actively trying to take him out of the practice. It wasn't a real match, and while of course they should be prepared for one, he didn't want to have to go to the hospital wing during a practice of all things.

Lacroix took to the sky with the others and immediately started his hunt for the snitch. While on the lookout for the golden ball, the boy caught sight of Elvira already taking a bludger hit. Maia had wasted no time. Not wanting to be on the receiving end of the second bludger hit, Theo veered his broom away from the beaters and headed out on his own, choosing to actively avoid them where he could. They weren't allowed to get mad at the beaters for doing their job, but that didn't mean he wanted to be anywhere near them anymore.

Maia smiled at the Seeker when she have her a thumbs up and flee away from the others, hoping to spot anorher bludger see ciuld send someones way

The blonde flew fast towards to hoops where Celine was guarding them. She was a bit suprised how fast she had grabbed the quaffle. She wasn't the most experianced player but she wanted to do her very best. The blonde arrived at the three hoops and did a attempt to score and threw the quaffle. It wasn't as fast and hard as she wanted it to be and missed to score. Cheryl sighted for a moment and was dissapointed but wouldn't give up. She knew Celine was a good keeper so she gave her a thumbs up.

Nadine had followed Cheryl's progress, interested to see how her attempt would go. The older girl seemed very talented, but so was their keeper. She felt a little sad for the girl when her attempt was blocked, but eagerly took her place as she accepted the ball from Celine before starting on a lap around half of the pitch.

The bludger stung, but Elvira resisted the urge to rub the spot it had hit too much. She had told the team not to be dramatic over a bludger hit and not to complain about it, so now she could hardly start doing that herself. She glanced at Theodore, wary of him getting the snitch before her again. Hopefully that wouldn't happen today.

Celine watched closely as Cheryl came into the scoring zone and her eyes tracked the movement of the Quaffle as it moved from the other girl's possession. Celine managed to catch the ball before it went through the hoop, but she did smile encouragingly at her teammate for a brief moment before returning to her grumpy rain-induced expression. She threw the Quaffle back out to the waiting chasers and watched as the new girl caught it and zoomed off to complete her half-lap.

Elvira flew by Celine and gave her friend an encouraging smile. The other girl was a great keeper, and they were lucky to have her on the team. Elvira quickly focused on the field again, trying to catch any glimpse of the snitch.

After doing her lap the way she was supposed to, Nadine hurried over to the rings and tried to surprise the keeper by shooting really fast for the left hoop. But she wasn't as fast as she thought, and Celine blocked it easily. Nadine huffed out a breath in annoyance. She still had a lot to learn it seemed.

Maia was happy that she managed to hit a bludgers pretty much immediately because she had trouble catching up to them at the moment. Still chasing after the bludger shed been chasing for at least five minutes, Maia hoped that she would get another hit in soon.

Celine took her eyes off the new girl for a second to return Elvira's smile as she soared by, and silently wished her luck in catching the snitch before Theodore. She returned her attention to the pitch, taking note of the fact that the same chaser was still in possession of the Quaffle. As the girl approached, Celine watched her carefully and managed to change direction and dart over to the left hoop in time to stop the ball from going through. "If you perfect that move, you'll be unstoppable," Celine called out to the young chaser as she passed the Quaffle back out into play. It was a promising tactic from such a new player.

Already there had been two attempts to score, and despite neither succeeding, Fulke was happy with what they were doing. Celine was a difficult person to get by, so it really was no surprise. Taking possession of the quaffle, the redhead made his way back around to do his half-lap. He'd show them how it was done.
