Beauxbatons Quidditch Practice Y41 S1

Eren had been lining up to finally grab the quaffle when a bludger blindsided him. He let out a string of choice curses, righting himself in time to watch Florence take the quaffle instead. He hung back, massaging his sore side until the quaffle was free, scooping it up and looping back to the hoops, intent to make a goal even more now.

Gemma sighed as she flew around looking for another bludger to hit.

Eren didn't bother checking for the other chasers, not interested in passing. He must have still been moving too slow however, gritting his teeth in annoyance as his shot was blocked.

Gemma raced to meet a bludger she spotted out of the corner of her eye and swung, hard. But it was all for nothing because her target moved at the last second and her shot missed.

If there was one thing Xenia was good at, it was throwing herself in to her role whole-heartedly. She cheered the team on as she threw the quaffle back out for the chasers.

Eren wasn't really interested in playing as a team right now, intent on getting past their keeper before practice ended. He didn't wait for the other chasers to move in, grabbing the quaffle again for another round.

Xenia could see the chaser meant business, but she wasn't inclined to hold anything back even if it was just practice, wanting to be at her best for the upcoming match. She took a deep breath and got ready to block.

Eren knew Xenia was ready for him, he could see in it her body language, but he still grit his teeth as she blocked his shot again. "It's on now," he announced, dropping back as she threw the quaffle back in.

Xenia loved a challenge. She grinned at Eren as she threw the quaffle back, feeling a little cocky. "Bring it!"

Eren pointed at Xenia, grinning as the challenge was accepted before taking the quaffle once again. He wasn't going to let her keep blocking his shots for long.

Gemma looked around the pitch for more bludgers to hit but was coming up empty handed.

Xenia rolled her shoulders, loosening herself up so she was ready to block.

Eren wasn't about to go easy on his next shot, coming in fast, possibly too fast if the angle of the quaffle was anything to go by. He grit his teeth again, aware that even if Xenia wasn't able to catch that, it probably would have gone wide. It was fine. He could handle a challenge.

Xenia wasn't able to get the quaffle in time, but it didn't really matter as it went wide enough it didn't go through. Speeding around the hoops, she threw it back in and rolled her neck. This was going to be tough.

[rule 2a]

Ophelia had managed to grab the quaffle before Eren once it was thrown back out but he kept close. It probably wasn't in the spirit of what they were supposed to be doing, but he couldn't bring himself to care as he spotted a chance to slip past her, muscle the quaffle from her grip and heading towards the hoops.

Xenia raised an eyebrow as the chasers got the quaffle, watching closely as Eren took it and came for her again.

Eren came in quick, hoping to catch Xenia off guard while she was still focused on Ophelia. He didn't know if it was the speed or the angle but he grinned as the quaffle finally shot past her and through the left hoop. "That's one," he said, holding up a finger. He had a lot of missed shots to make up for.

Xenia gasped as the quaffle slipped past her - was she getting tired? She didn't want to let any of the Ilvermony chasers get past her at the upcoming game, but more selfishly she didn't want to lose to Eren. "Alright, alright, nice shot," she admitted, at least being a little gracious about it.

Eren was feeling pleasantly smug, but he'd feel even better if he could get past Xenia again, not hesitating to grab the quaffle again.

If she'd been worried about not giving the chasers enough opportunities to score before, Xenia wasn't now - getting ready to block once again.

Eren grit his teeth when Xenia seemed to be right back to blocking his shots. Now he really needed to prove his last goal wasn't a fluke. "Just making sure you weren't getting discouraged," he assured her, leaning back on his broom as she fetched the quaffle.

Xenia raised an eyebrow, throwing the quaffle back into play. "Oh, very thoughtful," she joked, giving as much of a mock bow as she could while being mounted on her broom. Hopefully they weren't bothering the captain too much with their competition.

Ophelia caught the ball as it was thrown back out, but very much felt like she was encroaching upon a moment between the keeper and the other chaser.
