Flavio had spent his morning sitting in the wild patch, soaking up the spring sun and feeling glad to have a refgue from the stress of returning for another school year when he began to hear an all too curious, high pitched set of sounds emanate from one of the shrubs. He stood from where he was sitting peacefully and tiptoed around until he discovered the source of the sound, shocked to his core when he parted the leaves with his hands to find a nest of baby chicks. Some were tweeting and others were clumsily falling asleep on each other. Flavio watched his discovery in awe for a few minutes, holding back the urge he had to pet the chicks and hold them in his hands. He was sure the wild patch did not have a set of chicks last year, as he would have definitely known about it. Orwell would have told him and would have taken care of the chicks like they were human children.

Suddenly the weight of his discovery dawned on him and he ran as fast as he could to the great hall, stopping at the Ravenclaw house table when he saw Pia and Orwell eating breakfast together. He ran up to Pia, tears prickling in his eyes as he wrapped his hands around the sleeve of her robe and began tugging violently, hoping it would urge her to stand up and follow him. "Pia! Pia, there's baby birds in the wild patch!" He practically screamed at his sister, the ability to speak English leaving him. "You need to see it!!" He continued tugging on her uniform as much as possible without ripping the fabric, unsure of how else he could get her and Orwell to follow him to the wild patch and figure out what to do with such an amazing yet overwhelming discovery.

Pia enjoyed mornings as they were generally more relaxed and she felt less pressure to be perfect as everyone was too overwhelmed by their own tiredness to notice her. It gave her an opportunity to be herself and not the kind of head girl she believed she was supposed to be in order to be a good leader and a role model, no matter how ridiculous it sounded. Pia was far from a role model and never would be, though she was trying when she wasn't eating breakfast in the morning which was the least that could be said about her peers. That day she felt like eating a proper meal instead of an oversized cup of coffee so she quickly put a few pancakes on her plate and decorated them with berries which she was in the midst of chowing down when Orwell approached the table.

They soon began talking about anything and everything, classes, the wild patch and head person duties as they ate and woke themselves up for the day. Pia was enjoying the company and the food, smiling wide as the morning progressed though she was interrupted when Flavio ran up to her and began tugging violently on the arm of her robe. She frowned immediately out of concern at her brother's words and even considered that he was hallucinating seeing baby birds in the wild patch, as if there were baby birds, Orwell would definitely know about it. She told Flavio to calm down in Spanish before turning to Orwell and asking "Are there baby birds in the wild patch now?". She hoped he would be able to shed some light on this situation as she had never seen Flavio in such an unusual mix of excitement and fear.

Orwell was still not much of an early bird, he had never quite built up that ability, the morning alarm clock made him feel the only amount of hatred that he did have. The teen however had managed to push himself out of his bed and after getting himself dressed in his largely worn clothes he reached the great hall, and after looking over the Gryffindor table for Archie who either had been up before him or wasn't yet up, he spotted Pia at the ravenclaw table and took a seat with her. It was becoming an almost regular thing for them to meet, and for them to just sit and talk about things. As much as his conversations with Archie were always the highlight of any day, sitting with Pia always stretched his mind, she engaged with him at a level he would never ask of Archie, that just wasn't their relationship, Archie was more likely to just listen while Orwell ranted about something. Pia had usually her own points and Orwell thoroughly enjoyed all the time they spent together. It was odd to him that she was head girl, though he was proud of her, positions of authority for children within schools was still an oddity to him.

But, as he put more fruit on to his plate and began munching his attention to Pia was drawn away to focus on the food he'd taken, and as he did, suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, Flavio appeared, speaking rapidly to Pia in what Orwell had come to recognise as Spanish. He did note the slightly excited tone of the boy, but left it for Pia to sort out, since he knew nothing of the situation and spoke no Spanish so it wasn't like he knew what was happening. The teen however was drawn back in when suddenly he realised that Pia was speaking to him in English and after giving the question some thought he shook his head, he hadn't seen any, of course Orwell didn't always check all the areas of the wild patch, he tried his best to keep it all tidy but since it had grown slightly under his leadership some days he just didn't have the time to check every little bit, "Not that I know of, I haven't seen any," Orwell told her, now looking between them, wondering where that question had come from, but if he knew Flavio at all, it had something to do with little bird like creatures and the wild patch, but aside from the birds that flew down from the trees both in the wider gardens and the forest there wasn't anything actually there.

Flavio continued to pull on Pia's sleeve, looking between her and Orwell as she asked if there were baby birds, and he answered with a no. Clearly neither of them knew about the nest of chicks he had just discovered which was all the more cause for urgency in his mind. Flavio knew Orwell looked after the wild patch in every way but the older Ravenclaw had clearly missed the chicks, somehow. The birds could be sick and alone from not being discovered earlier for all he knew. Flavio stepped back slightly, hands finally letting go of Pia's sleeve as he looked back to Orwell and said "There are chicks in one of the bushes near the corner, we need to help them!" He then stepped towards Orwell and began tugging on his sleeve instead, thinking this was the only way to convince both the older students to follow him to the wild patch despite being in the middle of their breakfasts. "Come on!" Flavio urged, the volume of his voice escalating with every word he said. What was his usual, calm, and quiet voice was much more erratic. He couldn't get the image of the chicks from his mind and wanted Orwell to help them.

Orwell was convinced that he would know if there were chicks in his gardens but he knew that he couldn't know everything that was going on there at all points so he might've just missed them. He knew that Flavio was unlike to lie about such a thing, he couldn't see the boy doing anything like that, so he was sure that he wasn't going to be lying about this, so he just nodded believing the boy had seen chicks even if he was sure he hadn't seen any sign of them in the last few days within the gardens. Orwell just looked at Pia as Flavio tugged on his sleeve and just gave a small, let's just see what this is smile, and got to his feet, "Alright, we're coming," the older boy assured the young ravenclaw with a small smile, nodding and moving towards where the gardens were, the breakfast forgotten, he was curious to see if there were chicks, curious since it had been a while since he'd seen any and he knew that only such a thing could really illicit such a response from the bird-crazed young ravenclaw. Orwell was pretty sure that if there were he'd have to let the professors know but he'd be sure to take to them, they unlike the vegetables he grew would be unlikely to end up on the tables in the great hall.
