Sumner adjusted his vest then the pistol strap that hung low on his lean hips. He hadn't picked his costume by accident. What boy growing up hadn't dreamed of being the sarcastic scruffy nerf herder? He smirked and pulled his pistol in a lightning fast motion, pretending to fire at two first years as they walked by. "What?" They rolled their eyes and walked in. Shrugging, he slipped it back in its holster.

He turned and waited for Andy to show then nearly swallowed his tongue when he spotted her. That was Andromeda Fiorelli? He would never breath a word about Princess Leia in the golden bikini being his ultimate fantasy. If he could peel his tongue off the floor that is.

Andromeda had spent more time than was worth getting herself into her costume. Herself and Sumner had discovered that they both liked the muggle classic science fiction movies, Star Wars being the highest ranking of these. It seemed only fitting that they wear something from the movies and tempted as she had been to dress as a jedi or a sith, when she had accidentally come across a costume that was almost a replica for the infamous Princess Leia slave one, she could not resist. Slipping on heels and putting tanning oil on her body to give it a better look than her otherwise pale features, she thought she carried it all off pretty well. It was trying to get the damn engorgio spell on her hair just right that had nearly killed her.

She smiled at Sumner as she walked towards him, she had to admit the guy pulled off the best looking Han Solo she had ever seen. Every girls fantasy for sure.
"Hey you teasing the little first years already I see" she chuckled looking about her, the staff sure had out done themselves again this year.

"Had to get in character," he snorted, then ruined the effect by grinning. "You, uh," he rubbed at his cheek with his thumb, "you look great. Really great." His grin widened. Oh yeah, they had picked the pefect theme this year. He was glad he hadn't gone with his instincts that day on the pitch and strangled her silly. Would've been a shame to miss out on Andy dressed like that; perfect image for the bank.

Lily walked down the stairs in only her stockings. Her heels were a bit higher than she normally would wear and she practically fell when she went down the first set of steps. She stopped at the bottom and slipped the silver stilletos back onto her feet and straightened up. She tipped her hat just right and fluffed her hair that she had temporarily lengthened and curled using a spell. Taking in a deep breath, she walked into the Great hall and looked around for her date. Not spotting her other half for the evening, she noticed Sumner talking with his date, Andy, and walked over by them.

Sticking her wand in Sumner's back, she used her best mobster voice to try to spook her friend. "Drop your gun and get your hands in the air, Solo. I want all the money from the vault and no funny business." She worked hard to keep from busting out laughing right there.

Sumner stiffened. It wasn't every day he had wood shoved into his back. It wasn't a particularly pleasant sensation and not one he'd care to repeat. Then his lips quirked. Who the hell? he wondered. "Look, buddy," he said as he turned, "tell Jabba I've got his money." Then he stopped. And stared. "But for you doll face, all I've got is funny business." He took a step near her before he stopped and remembered himself. He couldn't do as he'd like to, which is to have Lily turn in a circle for his benefit and plant a kiss on those dolled up lips. "Where's your date, dollface?"

Lily busted out laughing as Sumner realized who it was behind him. "The Don will be here shortly. So where'd you park the Falcon?" She then moved around to greet Andy. "Hey. Oh wow. You look absolutely amazing Andy! I wish I was able to pull that look off." She was surprised to see her there in as little as she was wearing. Then again, her own costume was pretty miniscule as well.

Andromeda smiled at Sumner glad she had been able to pull the costume off at least.
"Thanks Solo, you're not so bad yourself" she turned to look about her the place looked damn amazing, she knew there was only one person she didn't particularly want to see tonight though he was also the only one she craved to see. Hoping that no matter what costume he decided to wear if he did show up he would stay well enough away, for her own sake at least.

A familiar voice made her turn around and she could not help but chuckle at the banter between the two Ravenclaws. Lily's comment on her costume made her grimace, her hands going to her flat stomach completely revealed in her outfit.
"It's not too much or in this case... too little" she grinned, "Think you're doing a fine job pulling that costume off. You look ... hot! Is it ok for a girl to say that about another girl?"
she chuckled again slightly conscious now of the stares she seemed to be getting as people passed her, hoping it was really Sumner they were checking out.

"Thanks Andy. I totally think that is acceptable to say to another girl, especially when the one saying it falls into the same catagory," Lily replied with a smile. She looked around the room, wondering where Crispin was. The decorations were amazing, and the hall looked outstanding. It was her last Halloween Feast, and despite her break up, she was going to enjoy every minute.

Crispin straightened the wide tie of his costume, coming down the stairs at a brisk pace. Although he hadn't wanted to come tonight he found himself becoming mildly excited to see the hall decked out. And all his classmates in their Halloween gear. His foot hit the landing and his head jerked up. Golden skin, miles of legs; Andromeda was a vision. It felt as though someone had kicked him in the gut and insanely he wished to go to her, pick her up and hold her. Yet he had promised not to bother her as she surely did not want him, not emotionally at least.

His mouth tightened. Damn her, how was he to get around this tonight. The urge to turn around and forget this whole miserable night was strong. Then his mismatched eyes touched upon Lily, who was lovely in her moll costume, then to the guy standing with them. He would not be a coward. He continued approaching.
"Hey Lily. You look fantastic this evening." And as if he could not help himself, as though he enjoyed digging his own grave, he turned a glance at Andy. "You do as well, Andy."

"I don't think we've really met, Crispin Cold,"
he held out his hand to the bloke.

Sumner rubbed his bottom lip with his thumb as the new guy approached. He smirked. So that's it eh. His greyish green eyes flicked between him and Andy and he fought not to chuckle. The dude had it bad, real bad judging by his face. He clasped his hand with his own and gave it a firm shake before letting it go. "Sumner Reine." To be obnoxious and to see if he could make the night more fun by prodding Crispin, he said, "I'm escorting this beautiful young lady tonight," he slipped an arm loosely around Andy's waist. "I assume you already know your date," he smirked. "You know Andy right?"

She couldn't help but laugh, she had thought herself alot of things this evening getting ready but considering herself to be hot hadn't been one of them. It was almost as if the costume were her scarlet letter and she were wearing it for her penance, letting just about everyone else here know what type of person she really was. The words floozy and tart and other variations had come to mind, especially now looking about the hall and seeing half the boys she had flirted with or kissed. As her gaze roved the room, it was like a beacon began to sound its alarm. He was close and getting closer. Turning to see him wearing a male variation of a gangsters outfit, Andromeda realized with a pang of utmost jealousy that Crispin was Lily's date. Her gaze never faltered from his, he looked amazing, beautiful and tortured. The epitome of every 1920's gangster from all the old muggle classic movies she had ever seen.

Grateful that he turned to Lily because she certainly couldn't tear her gaze from him, she took a deep breath as she trained herself to do so. She was fine until he spoke to her, she had no right to expect anything else than the added gratuity to his compliment to Lily but it stung her all the same. As both boys introduced themselves to one another, she felt Sumners arm about her waist. It was loose and unemotionally attached to her, they were here as friends after all but she couldn't escape the fact that he was goading Crispin and she didn't like it, not one bit. Her gaze faltered before looking away. She was a piece of meat wasn't she? That was why she had wore this ridiculous costume.
"You know Andy right?"
She tore her gaze back to those beautiful mismatched eyes, deny me she willed him and he'll leave you be, deny me damn you. Andromeda straighened up taking on a posture all too different, slipping an arm behind Sumner's back as well to let it hang just as loosely about his waist. If there was going to be a charade, she would be all in.

Crispin's eyes hardened as they followed Sumner's arm. For a moment he pictured himself ripping his arm off and handing it to him. Then the anger drained away as quickly as it had come. Andy was not his, would never be his. She loved another and he had no right to his feelings any more. "Yes," he murmured. "I know Andromeda." He doffed the bridge of his hat, his eyes never leaving hers. The challenge in hers was too strong to ignore yet he must.

He turned to his date and offered his arm.
"Lily, may I escort you to your table?" He nodded his head at the others and went inside with the lovely moll.

Once the feast was over and the tables cleared, Crispin appeared beside Lily and held out his hand for first dance. It wasn't a fast one yet it was fit to begin the evening's celebrations. He held Lily against him, his hand grasping hers, his large hand spanning the middle of her back. "You really are lovely tonight." He spoke with truthful intent.

Lily stood near where her table was, remaining next to Sumner who she had eaten with. Stupid house tables. Suddenly Crispin was next to her and a huge smile formed on her face as he escorted her to the dance floor. Her hand found his and her opposite hand wrapped around to rest on his shoulder. The length of her body was pressed up against his. In her heels, she found herself able to look straight into Crispin's eyes, almost.

A slight blush came to her cheeks as he complemented her. "Thanks. You look amazing in that suit." They moved in tandem to the music, swaying and turning to the beat. "I loved this song when I was little. I havent' heard it in ages." They danced in silence for minute or so, Lily enjoying the slower pace of the song. It was the first time she had danced at the school with someone other than Blake as a date. This was a new sensation for her and she found that she really liked it. "So, Andy's costume is amazing, isn't it?" She smiled at Crispin, then turned to look over at the Princess when she spotted him. Blake. Dressed like an aviator. Closing her eyes for a second so she didn't see who he was walking over to, she opened them back up to smile at Crispin.

The music changed and picked up the pace. It was an old dance song but a wide smile broke out across Lily's face. "I love this song!" she exclaimed. Her hips started to sway to the music. Whispering in his ear, she made a proposition. "Let's make them jealous."

Crispin enjoyed the feel of Lily in his arms, it wasn't an unpleasant experience to say the least. She was a good dance partner and he barely had to lead. "Thank you," he murmured. The song wasn't one he was familiar with, he was behind on a lot of music both past and present. His eyes followed where she mentioned, his heart stuttered painfully then cooled and withered. "Yes, she is amazing." His tone, wistful, painful, yet remote, lifeless. His eyes bore a hidden fire for the redhead alone, nearly frightening in their intensity. He met hers then tore them away to look into the safe blue eyes of Lily.

He paused when she began dancing to the new song.
"I-I don't know." He spoke, unsure if he wanted to follow the path she wanted him to take.

Sumner had smirked, enjoying the direct hit at the Slytherin. It wasn't that he didn't like the kid, hell he didn't even know him. But if he was dragging his feet on hooking up with somebody like Andy, he needed his head examined. And maybe a small push. Full from the feast, grinning, he found his date. "Normally I don't do this, but do you want to dance?"

Lily slipped her arms around his waist. "My ex is here. I really want to make him jealous. Please?" She looked into his mismatched eyes, shimying along his body and back up. "Just for a song or two?" She gave him a pouty look, hoping he would join in.

Andromeda did her best from there on in to look the other way instead of at Lily and Crispin, she would be lying if she didn't think they looked good together. They looked amazinig and once again the green eyed monster stole through her. It was with relief that they went to their table but everything at the feast seemed to taste like sand paper now. She had no stomach for any of it as her gaze drifted like a magnet back to Crispin repeatedly. With the feast finished she was amazed to hear Sumner ask her to dance, seriously not expecting him to want too at all.
"I'd like that" she grinned at him determined to make the most of her handsome escort. As she stood to follow him her gaze caught sight of Crispin and Lily out slow dancing and once again she felt the pang of jealousy shoot through her and for a moment caught his gaze as he looked over.

The overwhelming urge to knock five shades of green out of Lily hit her and thankfully the music changed so they wouldn't have to dance so close again. As she made her way out to the floor with Sumner she nearly gagged on the spot as she glanced over to see her friend gyrating against him. Quickly turning her head she looked up at Sumner.
"You so better be a good dancer".

Crispin was about to refuse, he'd have no part in this madness, until he glanced over and saw Andy dancing with Sumner. His mouth tightened and he jerked his head, eyes connecting with Lily's pleading ones. "One song." Committed to the insanity, his long fingered hands trailed down her sides, over her hips, returning up her outer thighs to grip her hips. Moving his hips, he drew her close to him, holding her lower back, he let her torso fall away from him, her blonde hair cascading out toward the floor as she bowed backward. Then he whipped her up against him and started moving with her.

Crispin had no hold on Andy; it would do her well to remember that she had no hold on him. If he had to play this game, he would. His pride had reared its ugly head. He didn't want to hurt her, doubted he could after what she had told him. Yet she had issued a challenge with her eyes and if there was one thing Crispin was not, was a coward.

Sumner scoffed at Andy. He remembered how shy he had been before he'd met Kat, how she had had to lead him on the dance floor because he so wanted to meet with her approval. He'd cared what she had thought of him, what her friends had thought. Yet so much had happened between then and now. Sumner didn't give a flying screw over what anybody thought of him. He was his own person, his own man. His eyes cut to where hers kept returning.

"Yeah,"he chuckled, "I can dance. Try to keep up." With that, he whirled her around the dance floor, putting most others to shame with the moves they pulled.

Andromeda was not a dancer by nature, give her a microphone and she could sing. Give her a piano or guitar and she could play but dancing just wasn't her thing. She was glad therefore that Sumner could dance and followed his lead, surprised by the moves and gyrations he made but allowing herself to enjoy her escort instead of allowing her eyes to constantly search the dance floor for Crispin. When they did find him however she gasped, her feet stopped moving and briefly she faltered in their dance.

His hands were all over Lily, a burning sensation raced through her and she knew her face colored with the memory of their evening by the lake when his hands had been on her. She needed a back bone here or she would run off the dancefloor and cry herself stupid like the fool she was. So she turned her gaze up to Sumners.

"You so better pull some sort of rabbit out of the hat here because I am either going to kill someone or storm off" her voice was low enough for only him to hear as her gaze drifted back to Crispin once more. Was he doing this to spite her? To prove to her that he was moving on? or had he not meant anything he had said after all? Looking back at Sumner she all but wavered.
"Be my damn Han Solo right now, I kind of need a hero Sumner".

Sumner didn't want to, but he felt for the damned girl. He didn't like seeing her looking so frantic nor desolate. Determination stiffened his back and he murmured in her ear, "Don't you dare go to pieces. Where's your Gryffindor courage?" He pulled back, looked into her golden eyes and nodded shortly. "I'm nobody's hero," he smirked. He was the epitome of the anti-hero, even at sixteen he knew this. "Just follow my lead."

He pulled out all stops, not thinking of propriety, of shame; just losing themselves to the music, to the moment. He lead them effortlessly across the dance floor until they were feet from their intended targets. Although it wasn't in him ever to try to make Lily jealous, as their relationship was purely friends...with fringe benefits. He grasped Andy's hand and spun her out then back to his chest, moving smoothly into the next slowly dance. He brought her arms up to cling around his neck, trailing his fingers down her body to run across the smooth skin of her back. He whispered for her alone, "Chin up."

Kat had finally picked out her perfect Halloween costume. At first she'd thought of going as an angel, but with recent events she flushed that idea and went with the exact opposite. It was skimpy and showed quite a fair amount skin which was what she was going for. Might as well pull out all the stops this time after all she had nothing to lose anymore.

Entering the Great Hall Kat looked around and found exactly what she was looking for though who he was with was a little shocking to her. Son of a b1tch is making his way through my friends like clock work...well if he wants to play dirty then I'll give him dirty she thought glaring and then she noticed that just a few feet away from her ex was Lily. Kat's blood boiled and made her face flush red with anger, but she wasn't going to ruin this evening for herself or her date.

Grabbing the Slytherins hand in her own she looked at him with a mischievous gleam in her eyes and said, "You ready to make them all eat their hearts out?"

That was all she needed to hear, a reminder of the house she was so proud to belong to. She smiled up at him and took a steadying breath as he told her he was no ones hero but she knew different. In that glorious moment as he twirled her about the dance floor as if they had years of pratise, Andromeda let the jealousy go. There was enough crap going on with her without that mixing things up as well. They neared Crispin and Lily once more and effortlessly he spun her outwards, as she stopped her eyes caught with blue and black for a fleeting moment before being spun back towards Sumners chest. With the next dance being much slower, she could not help but giggle as he raised her hands above his neck and ran his hands down her back.
"I'm ticklish" she grinned at the touch of his hands, "thanks Sumner, I owe you".
Her chin was well and truly up now and as she looked over his shoulder as they moved slowly to the music Andromeda caught sight of Kat in a rather daring outfit, no more so than her own of course. She was out of her view again in seconds as she continued to be gently swayed in an almost statutory circle by Sumner.

Lily was surprised when Crispin suddenly agreed and began to dance. She locked her eyes on his and moved in tandem with his body. Her body and his became one on the dance floor, their dance overtly sexual and able to drive anyone crazy. As she was bent backwards, her hair brushed the floor and her eyes glanced around quickly before closing. She caught a glimpse of Kat in a red costume, then of Sumner and Andy dancing. She had no claims to Sumner, but she still didn't like seeing him running his hands along Andy's body like he had with her own.

As the music turned slower, Lily slowed and slipped her arms around Crispin's neck. Her head rested on his shoulder and there was not a millimeter of space between them. She did not bother to look around the room, her eyes only for her date. The mere fact that Blake was in the Hall made Lily feel like she needed to prove to him that she was letting him go, that she was willing to comply to his wishes and leave him behind. Maybe someday they would have their time again, but right now, Lily needed to move forward in her life and spread her wings. Moping around over a guy who no longer wanted her was not a part of her gameplan any more. She glanced around as they danced, swaying slowly to the music. She caught sight of Blake for a second before the crowd made him disappear again. Then Sumner and Andy came into view and she looked them over. They really looked good together.

Sumner spun slowly with Andy, the room a blur of bodies. His eyes narrowed on the red she devil. His eyes flicked from her to her date then away as they faded into the background. Fine. That was just fine, she could flaunt herself for whomever she liked now, he didn't own her. Nor did she own him, a thought to which he smirked. She maybe be dressed like the devil but Sumner could rival Satan himself when he got into his moods. One which was slowly forming. The song was coming to an end and he saw that bloke turn his eyes on Andy once more.

Two birds, he smirked. "You mind if we swap for one dance? Hey Lily!" he got her attention before Andy could speak. As he went to trade partners, he kept a hold on Andy's arm and muttered in her ear. "Remember. You're a damned lioness to his snake. No weakness love." Patting her shoulder, he moved and whirled a laughing Lily into his arms.
