Back to normal.

Alvin hesitated for a second, nervous to sit there, before realising that he was just being weird and sat down. "I tend to keep to myself. I'm not exactly outgoing." He laughed slightly.

When Ivy snuggled up to him, he automatically put his arm round her. He didn't realise he had done it until afterwards. "Basically, yeah. I prefer books to people." He shrugged slightly trying to make sure he didn't move Ivy as she seemed to be comfy.

Ivana nodded and, when she tried to speak, ended up yawning instead. "So..Sorry 'bout that." She closed her eyes again, intending to blink. Instead of re-opening her eyes she drifted off into a lovely sleep full of Alvin. Of course that was only because she was sleeping on him, no other reason at all.

Alvin didn't want to move from where he was in case he woke Ivy up. Instead, he fell asleep where he was. He was comfy with his arms wrapped around her. It was weird how he was reacting to her but he liked it.

The next morning
Alvin was still asleep. He had always been a deep sleeper. Once his eyes closed he would sleep through a war in his bedroom.

Markov was on his way up to fetch his sister. She had slept in late and they were meant to be having sibling bonding time or whatever today. The older boy knocked on her door, there was no answer. Eventually he had to walk in.

"Ivy what are you doing that's taking so lo..." His question trailed away as Markov saw his baby sister snuggled up in bed still asleep. The picture would be very cute if it wasn't for the fact that her current pillow was breathing and looking more like a person than a pillow. Not just any person either, a male person. "What the hell!?" He exploded, slamming the door behind him.

Alvin had been on the little line between awake and asleep so the door slamming made him jump out of his skin. He looked around the room. His eyes were tired so it took a few seconds for them to focus. Then he saw the older boy stood by the door. He didn't know what to say to someone who was looking at him in that way. It was sort of scary for someone as small and quiet as Alvin.

Ivana was woken up, not by hte yelling or the door slamming, but by her pillow jumping. She was immediately awake and took in the situation for a second before speaking. "Markov! This is Alvin, he's cool, he likes books." She paused before turning to Alvin. "When did I go to sleep? I can't remember. We were talking about not talking before then my memory goes poof and I'm waking up." She hated not remembering going to sleep.

"That's about it really." Alvin smiled at her. "We talked then you yawned and fell asleep." He looked up at the older boy then back to Ivy. "Is he your brother or something??" He had never seen this boy in his life and he didn't think Ivy looked much like him but then Alvin didn't look much like most of his siblings.

Ivana smiled as her brother relaxed and she could tell exactly what he was thinking. "He's not another Mark. Don't worry Bro." She giggled before shooing him. "I'll join you out on the steps in, say, an hour?" She smiled as her brother walked off, saluting at them as he went.

"Yeah, Markov is my brother. He looks more like mum and I look more like daddy. Markov is very protective of me " She smiled and got out of the covers, it took a while from where she was tangled, and immediately regretted it. "It's cold out here."

Alvin watched Markov leave then laughed slightly as Ivy said she was cold. "That's because you've been under a duvet all night. Just chuck some clothes on and you'll be warmer." He smiled at her. "How do I get on his good side then?? He was acting like he didn't like me."

Ivana smiled and went through her draws. "Okay, don't look." She smiled and got dressed as she answered his question. "You can't. He doesn't like boys around me, he's always been protective but then stupid Mark made it worse." She hadted that Mark kid and felt like nutting him again every time she saw him. "He'll choose if you're worthy or not soon enough. You can look now." She smiled and went back over to sit next to him. "It's still cold."

Alvin smiled and turned away when she told him not to look. "I'll just have to be a good boy until I have his trust then." He laughed and turned back to Ivy. He gulped quietly to himself when he saw her. She looked great. "It would be. You're wearing a dress." He shrugged. "Why don't you put on some tights or something??"

Ivana looked at him oddly. "Tights or something?" She shook her head. "To put on tights I'd have to change to a dress that suited the tights I own. This one doesn't but I want to wear this today." She giggled. "I will just deal with being cold." Ivana was now stuck for a topic. "Tell me about your family! It's only fair, I've met your brother and you've met mine." She grinned and leant on him again.

Alvin laughed. He would never understand why girls tortured themselves so they could look good. "You've met a brother." He smiled. "I have four brothers and five sisters. Not fun. I like them and all but I tend to keep out of anything which happens in the house. I stay in my room most of the time. Either that or I go for walks." He shrugged. "What about you??"

Ivana did a completely over the top mouth drop before losing her focus and laughing. "How do you live? I can only just deal with Markov on his own. Well, Mummy just gave birth again but Andromeda is only my half sister because she isn't daddy's baby." She smiled, this wasn't out of the ordinary. Anyone who knew the Kalforovichs' knew that they were unfaithful, well, that Taneaka was unfaithful. Benson wasn't so obvious about it.

"With difficulty." Alvin laughed. "Daisy's cool though. She's my little sister." He smiled over at Ivy. "I take it your parents are divorced then??" It was the first conclusion he could come to as to why her mum was giving birth to the child of a man who wasn't her husband.

Ivana frowned. "No, why would you think that?" While she was a smart girl for her age she didn't have many friends so, naturally, she hadn't seen many over married couples and, as a result, didn't understand that her parents weren't a typical married couple.

Alvin frowned slightly. "So, has your mum had an affair or something??" He was confused as to how she could have a baby sister with a different dad when her parents weren't divorced. Alvin's parents had always been very loyal to each other so he didn't understand how marriages could end.

Alvin was getting more and more confused by the second. "You've been brought up in an odd family-if you don't mind me saying." He didn't want to seem rude but he had never heard of a family like Ivy's. His parents never went off with other people.

Ivana laughed. "Says you, what, are your parents faithful or something?" She wasn't used to the whole faithful idea in a marriage. It was odd, it was good for when you were dating or engaged but when you were married you could go around and cheat all you liked. That's what her mum did anyway, her daddy couldn't be bothered.

"Well..." Alvin shrugged. "Yeah, actually." He grinned. "Most families have faithful parents. It's kind of the norm." Alvin hadn't seen many families where the parents were unfaithful except the ones where the parents had split up or got divorced.

"No." Alvin shook his head. "I'm not really that interested in people. I stick to my books. You'll probably think that's weird." He laughed slightly as he looked at her.
