Asher's background is unknown to her but she has evidence of having great power. Asher is an orphan who is unaware that both of her parents were Death Eaters who were killed when she was just an infant. She has unknowingly demonstrated her strong magical background all through her childhood before learning of Hogwarts New Zealand.
Ashers parents Drake and Astrid Lurken were some of the few followers of Lord Voldemort abroad in Brittany, France who were able to maintain their freedom when he fell from power. Their loyalty never wavered and they vowed to avenge their masters defeat. They took it upon themselves to continue the Dark Lords mission of ridding the magical world of non-purebloods. Unfortunately, the Aurors learned of their vow before their plan could be put into action. They were ambushed at the site of their first target and, when they refused to surrender, were killed leaving their infant daughter, Asher, behind. Drake Lurken (father of Asher) was the son of Damien Lurken and Lenora Lurken. Damien Lurken was the son of Keith Lurken and Lydia Lurken. Lydias family was descended from a long line of pureblood wizards in Belfast, Ireland. Her family has been connected with the Slytherin House for centuries. Lenora Lurkens family comes from France and all of the women in her family have attended the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, and afterward went on to marry into prominent pureblood families. Astrid Hurley Lurken (mother of Asher) was the daughter of Nathan Hurley and Calista Hurley. Nathan Hurley was a student at Durmstrang who followed the teachings of Grindelwald to a T when he met Calista who was a Slytherin Prefect with a strong affinity for the Dark Arts. When the Dark Lord came into power, every member of the Lurken family rushed to affiliate themselves with his power. Loyal to the very end, they had once planned to commit Asher to the same mission in life.
