Cas would be lying if he tried to say he hadn't considered ditching this dance all together. But pushing aside everything else, Casper did like Alex. Cas wasn't sure how romantic that liking was, but he thought maybe if he spent time with the boy, tried to build up something instead of just chasing blindly after things that were no good for him, well, maybe it could turn into something worth fighting for. Cas was waiting now, a lily in his hand, twirling it gently as he watched the crowd for his friend to appear.

In all honesty, Alex hadn't been to the yule ball before. He had tried to go the past couple of years, but he was too nervous to go and big events like these weren't something he would usually attend. But it was his last year of school, and he wanted that to somewhat change. The Ravenclaw boy was relieved when his friend had agreed to come to the yule ball with him. He was a little nervous to ask to begin with.

Alex didn't know if he was overdressed or underdressed, he just wore what he thought was nice and go to the event. When he looked at himself at the mirror one last time and was happy with how he looked, he hurriedly made his way down to the great hall where he would meet his friend and smiled, waving a little as he spotted his friend and made his way to Casper.

Cas' throat went dry when he spotted Linden. With Finn. Of course. Finn is gorgeous, athletic. Cas took a deep breath, shutting his eyes. Linden looked absolutely stunning- but Cas couldn't be thinking like that. He was distracted as Alex arrived. Cas smiled, and with a slow exhale, he turned his attention to his friend. "Hey. I brought this." He held out the lily to Alex. "Though, um... you're more beautiful than any flower tonight," He flirted lightly. Alex was here, he was kind and sweet. Cas gave him a bashful smile. He could make this work. He just needed time.
