Apparition,6,2The students were beginners and would need all the space they could get today, so the ministry official spent a few moments to send the tables to the sides of the Great Hall. She knew that some students had experience with side-along apparition, but this was an entirely different thing. They'd soon find that out for themselves. It was one thing to go along for the ride, and quite another thing to be the person who had to remember the 3 Ds and execute them perfectly.

"Let's go. You're wasting your own time" Irene Finch urged them forward impatiently as the first student walked through the open Great Hall doors. As the final student entered, the woman waved her wand, shutting the doors from the distraction of younger students who wanted to see what was happening. "Space yourselves out...there's plenty of room" she stated with a sigh as some of them remained bunched together like scared first years. Once they were finished rearranging themselves, Irene gave her wand a small flourish and a large wooden hoop appeared in front of each student.

As she looked around at their faces, Irene's expression remained stern. Her blue eyes stared at each student for the briefest of moments, making judgments about their ability to succeed at the task before them. She had been doing this long enough that she was rarely wrong. "Alright. Today, you will make your first attempts at apparating" she declared, her hands on her hips. "Before we begin, can someone remind us of the three Ds?" she pointed to a student and nodded her head as they responded.

"Excellent" she stated. "Now that you've all been reminded of the three Ds, it is time to put them into practice. For your safety, one of your school nurses is here" she nodded towards the corner where the nurse was stationed. "If you splinch yourself, please remain in your spot and the nurse or I will come to you. No sense bleeding all over the place" she stated with a small shake of her head, not bothering to explain what splinching was. Sooner rather than later, she was sure they'd learn if they didn't already know. "Begin. I will be walking around."

Points will be given to the student who answers the question. RP the lesson.

Isaiah's mind seemed to be in a hundred places at once, the only thing he was happy about was that he no longer had any quidditch to worry about, he did have the next year of quidditch a head of him, but he was glad that that was still a little away and he could spend time working on his own skills with it. He didn't want to be a professional quidditch player when he left school, but he knew it was definitely something that was an option, he had thought doing quidditch after school but for some reason he'd definitely fallen out with the idea, perhaps he didn't want to be constantly being injured, but whatever his internal reason, he had his sights set on something else that he wanted to do, and was more than willing to pursue it. The teen was getting ready for the day, he felt odd, the last week had been so somber and this week seemed to finally be allowing people to return to how things normally were, though he knew the cloud of what had happened would hang over them until the year was out. Isaiah finished getting himself together and left the room.

Isaiah got to the great hall and he found himself a spot alone to stand in, and he glanced about the room at the others in his year, before looking to the ground as wooden hoops appeared in front of all the students with one specifically landing in front of him. He stared at it and knew what he would need to do, and suddenly realising this began to get a little nervous after all, what if he did splinch himself, that would be a wholly unpleasant experience, one he didn't entirely want to have happen to him, he'd spent way too much time in the hospital wing as it was. The teen listened as one of the other students answered the question and the lesson was then allowed to begin. He focused his mind on where he wanted to go, concentrated hard not allowing himself to think of anything else aside from the task in front of him. The teen continued to focus wondering how he was supposed to know if anything was happening or if he was doing it right, until he felt a gentle tug, an unfamiliar feeling and he just let himself be pulled, realising a moment after with a start that he had managed it. The boy instinctually began checking himself over for any bits missing, but everything seemed to have worked, he grinned happily, before returning back to his original position and trying again.

The end of the roses and love celebration had brought life crashing back to Orwell, it had been lovely to just forget about everything else and just spread the love and cheer of such a celebration, something that had very clearly been necessary to the school. Considering all that had happened, he wasn't to surprised that it was necessary and had helped with the mood, but now that it was over, the teen knew he had focus on life again and it felt a little odd, but he was managing. The gardens kept him busy and he had a huge amount of flowers left over, which he wasn't sure what to do with, but it felt right as the autumn months set in to just have an abundance of flowers and he knew they could be very useful to the pride celebrations that Orwell knew they needed to have. The teen was getting ready for class, but his mind was now upon the possible pride day celebrations they could have, what new elements could be brought in, the thing Orwell wanted above all else was music. But, really he had classes to go to and finished getting ready so he could.

Orwell arrived at the great hall and stood himself at an empty spot in the room not far from where Archie was standing. He glanced at his best friend and gave him a small thumbs up, grinning a little towards him, Orwell was excited about this lesson, about the lessons they were going to be doing. He was far more excited than he was sure others in the class were. Orwell kneew the doors would open for him if he managed this, so he was more than a little determined to have himself manage it. The king of flowers glanced towards the teacher as she conjured up the hoops for them to use and then confirmed that they would in fact be apparating that day which he was happy about. Despite knowing the answer Orwell did not raise his hand, his mind too focused on the task and as soon as they were able to, Brock just blocked out all the things around him and focused on that, focused his mind on what was in front of him, until he felt that it was happening and a moment later Orwell knew he'd managed it, now standing within the hoop. He glanced round excitedly at Archie to hopefully share with the boy his excitement over managing to apparate.

With the game and therefore the season over, despite the fact that they had won it hadn't felt as good, she had known it would feel odd to win, it had felt almost so very wrong to win, but it didn't matter because the season was over they had thankfully won and she could now just focus on classes, which was a good thing to be able to do when she was half way into a semester. Although, given how she'd narrowed her course load, it wasn't like Ailsa had much to worry about, she was happy about how much work she had and she was happy to be able to focus on the few classes she had and work on them. The teen's time was more easily manageable despite the fact that she continued to study late into the night rather than during the day, but since she had less classes overall, it was not so much of a worry. The teen was getting ready for another week of classes, and the melancholy which had filled the halls of the school seemed to be slowly lifting, she was just becoming very much longer until she left the school and was able to move on with her life, hopefully with Logan.

The teen stepped into the great hall, this was definitely the part of her life which she needed to have done before leaving school was even remotely an option. She stood with the rest of her classmates and just found herself an empty spot. Ailsa could usually remain pretty focused when she wanted to be and was not very concerned about how this would play out, confidence in a situation with this kind of magic was sure to be helpful. The girl continued to stare at the hoop as the teacher gave a small lecture recapping the importance of last week and stressing how difficult and dangerous this was. The gryffindor the moment that she was able to focused her mind on the task at hand, and though it took a while, with her every so often having to pull away and stop the concentration to get properly refocused on the task at hand. Eventually she managed it, and found herself stood in the circle with a little unsettled feeling within her stomach, but she had managed it, and that was the important thing.

Archie was excited for his next apparation lesson. He hoped this one would fair much better than the first lesson, both for the sake of his attention span and for the sake of his learning as sitting around doing nothing but listening never did the Gryffindor any word of good. He was glad to find out that his hopes had come true and that the class would be attempting to apparate that day. He clapped his hands together in excitement as he moved to stand with more space around him though made sure he was still close to Orwell.

He smiled at his best friend excitedly as a wooden hoop appeared in front of him. He was slightly annoyed that he and Orwell couldn't share a hoop despite separate hoops being necessary. Archie stared at the hoop in front of him, resisting the urge to pick it up swing the hoop around his hips impatiently. He eventually managed to try and focus his mind enough to apparate, letting the three D's another student repeated swirl around his head. He kept all the energy in his body focused on moving inside the hoop and eventually he felt a tug on his abdomen. A tug he recognized but did not enjoy. He opened his eyes when the tug subsided and realized he was partially standing in the hoop, with one foot inside and one foot on the outside. It was better than failing so Archie looked up to Orwell and nearly squealed with the feelings of his accomplishment. They had both succeeded, Orwell more so than Archie but that was to be expected. All it would take was more practice now for Archie to be able to perfect apparating if he was able to.

Apparation lessons were a more interesting and exciting addition to Pia's class schedule so she was excited as ever to go to her second apparation lesson. She kept the three D's in mind as she entered the great hall and was glad she remembered not to keep anything in her pockets as it would make apparating easier. She hoped she would be able to apparate successfully that day or even begin to learn how to apparate because she already sent Owl's to her older siblings of her progress. She did not want to let them down or make her letters seem like a lie.

Pia spaced herself from the rest of the students as instructed, smiling as a wooden hoop appeared in front of her. She was ready to begin her first attempts at apparating and be able to show Valentina and Ignacio how good she would grow to be in apparating. As the teacher asked the class what the three D's were, Pia looked around at her peers before raising her own hand when she realized no one else was answering the question. "The three D's are Destination, Determination, and Deliberation." She answered, glad that she was able to memorize the all important words since the previous lesson. When the teacher said she was right, Pia returned her attention to the task of apparating. She closed her eyes, balled her manicured hands into fists at her sides and then focused her entire mind on apparating to the middle hoop without any hiccups. After a few minutes of concentrating her mind and all the magical energy in her body she eventually felt motion sick and as if she was moving on the spot. She opened her eyes as the feeling subsided and realized she had apparated into the middle hoop. After checking she was in one piece and that she had not accidentally splinched herself, Pia smiled wide at her success. It would only be uphill from there. She continued to practice for the remainder of the lesson, hoping that the more she practiced the more sufficient she would be.

Prudence was tired. It was evidenced by her messy hair and crooked uniform. She'd not caught any sleep the night before this lesson, and it was the worst lesson to be sleepless during. Once in the great hall for breakfast she'd drank anything with any amount of caffeine and hoped that the wired feeling it caused was enough to get her through this class and back to her bed. The blonde entered and looked around at everyone - silently cursing anyone perkier than herself. She paid mild attention, though she had memorized the three d's before and felt that she knew enough to remember. She was always determined, her destination was less than three feet in front of her - she could do this.

Prudence felt like she was nearly the last one to manage to even focus, but once she did her lion lie bravery allowed her to truly pull through. Her eyes had been closed the whole time, picturing where it was she wanted to go. Then snap - she was there. It was like magic - as corny as that was. It was magic. The blonde felt one time was plenty for the day - as she didn't want to splinch herself, and when allowed left the room to get some good, old fashioned, sleep.

Carlotta had had good night’s sleep and was ready for class. She had remembered the instructor’s advice – don’t bring much, and so she hadn’t. She wanted this to go as easily as possible, and even went about having more form fitting attire, with her hair tied back in a tight bun. She wasn’t sure how much that wold help (if any), but she tried, anyway. Her father would get a little light headed and wobbly after his apparations, whilst side along felt like she was being sucked up into a vacuum, and it was rather disorientating, so she had had a light but firm breakfast, and had been psyching herself up the entire morning. She knew the three Ds, she was probably uttering them in her sleep by now, and she had thought long and hard about how to remain concentrating on something, whilst doing something else.

Upon being reminded that they were simply wasting their own time, Carlotta snapped out of her musings and gave a small smile to the woman. It was one of excited nervous, which she hoped was healthy. She didn’t feel particularly confident, but perhaps overconfidence would be more damning than shyness. She took large steps from her colleagues and rested with her hands on his hips, ready for any and all directions.

She looked down at the hoop, studying its circumference and distance from herself. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that that was to be her destination. She just needed determination and deliberation and she was set. It was easier said than done, really. She had a simple task, it was easily understood but not entirely easy to do. She knew that there was plenty of help if she did have an accident, and so she began with her concentration. It was a strange sensation. The room was silent and all she could hear was her own steady breathing. It was soothing as she imagined herself moving from her current position to inside the circle. When she opened her eyes once more, her perspective had changed. She felt a little bubble in her stomach from the trip, and her head was foggy, but when she looked down she was within the confines of the circle, and it brought a smile to her face. She had some time to spare, and so returned to practice.
