Apparition,6,3Before the end of the lesson, Irene Finch hoped that all of the students would succeed in apparating to their target. She knew that wouldnt be the case, but the pressure was on for the students. This was the last practice after all. Several of the students had managed to apparate during the last lesson, but that didn't always translate to success at the exam.

Irene addressed the small group of sixth years. "Today, we will resume practicing" she began, her icy blue eyes staring at each of the students in turn as she spoke. "I am hopeful that those of you who weren't able to apparate last week will do so this week. The next time we meet will be your exam and you will only get one opportunity to succeed or fail. Your test will require you to be accurate when you apparate." She let that sink in before continuing on.

"Line up beside me please." It didn't take them long to queue up. "Alright...I'd like you all to attempt apparating from this end of the Great Hall to that end" she said, pointing towards the doors of the Great Hall. "The red X marks the spot" she added, knowing that they had probably noticed an X etched onto the floor with magic as they walked in. Glancing at all the students beside her, she hoped there would be no splinchings today, though she had asked for one of the school nurses to join them once again. "You can begin whenever you're ready" she said to the student who was first in line. "As soon as you feel comfortable, you may leave. But, please do remember that this is your final opportunity to practice before your exam." They were adults by wizarding standards or close enough anyway, so she wasn't going to force any of them to stay. It was in their best interests to take advantage of the time provided to them though.

Practice attempting to apparate one by one. Practice as many times as you'd like. Please warn me via PM if you plan on splinching.

Theo was surprised by how fast the term was moving, he had a last quidditch game coming up and he was rather eager for it to be over. The teen liked quidditch a lot, but it was always a lot of work, and the end of any semester meant exams and he didn’t want any more exams coming his way at all. He didn’t like those things much at all, but he needed to focus on them to pass. This added to the fact that he had quidditch did complicate things slightly but not too much. He was still rather happy about everything in this semester, about everything that had been into so far. He knew that it would be just fine, that everything would work out as long as he put the effort into it. The boy was thinking this as he re-entered the dorm room from having been out at the pitch, doing a few practices. Just improving on his skills. He knew it was important to do that, to continue working away as he always had been. The teen was just surprised that how fast it was all moving. He got his bag ready and then then after a quick shower and getting changed he left the dorm for the class.

After having managed it in the last apparition class, the boy was eager to try it again, so he arrived at the room promptly. He took a spot in the room before listening to the professor as she told them they would lining up and doing it one by one. He was nervous about having to do it in front of his peers, but Tholomyes had been pretty eager to learn this vital piece of magic. He stepped forward being the first to try. He looked at the x on the the floor at the other side of the room. He remembered what the teacher had told them in prior classes, what to remember about it. How to do it. He cleared his mind, imagining only being at the x etched onto the floor. The prefect was keen to feel that feeling he had before when it had finally been working, but it was proving somewhat difficult. He wasn't getting it, but he willed himself to not lose concentration. It took a few more moments but he felt himself being pulled more than he was leaning, and so he let himself follow that. And with a pop he was at the x. The teen checked himself over, feeling no blood and no hair out of place. He had done it. The teen joined the back of the line and did it over and over until he felt confident in it. When it no longer took a few minutes but was rather quicker. He knew he'd manage it and that it would be amazing to do this piece of magic, even more so that following this year he would be able to do it. Being seventeen in the magical world had perks.

Rome was happy as the week rolled down, one step closer to it being over. She didn’t hate when it was the study week, mostly because there were no classes and she could just sit about and read the odd paragraph. It was likely why she had never done that well in her classes, pulling out the occasional E but it worked for her, and she didn’t ever think she would do any better than she had. The teen was putting the last of her notes into her bag, hopeful that given it was the last week of classes, that it would be a relatively easy week, filled with very little work. She wasn’t certain it would happen, but she was hopeful of it. With that, Rome did check she would have everything and then left the dorm room, heading straight for the class.

Rome walked into the great hall for his final lesson of apparition before the exam, she was eager to do well in this so that she could have that freedom when she left school for the winter break. Heading to a spot in the room before realising that people had gathered at one side of the room. The slytherin noted the X on the floor and realised what they would be doing. The slytherin walked into the line and listened to the brief introduction the professor gave. before they just go right into it. Rome was eager to just get started on it, so she glanced towards the first people who did and eventually just pushed her way up the queue. The slytherin had managed the task very near the end of the last class, and she was sure that she would manage it. Rome made her way to where they were to stand and cleared her mind. There was little since quidditch that she had been more determined with. She leaned into the feeling that came over her as she thought about where she wanted to be as she focused herself and with a pop she was on the other side. She had managed it pretty well, Rome had always been good at things when she put her mind to it.

Matthew felt a fair bit of anxiety at the thought of trying to apparate once again, and his step wasn't very confident as he followed his fellow sixth years into the Great Hall. The lady that taught these lessons wasn't very warm, and didn't do much to make them feel at ease either. But he shouldn't depend on that anyway, he should just believe in himself.

He made sure to stand somewhere in the back, so he wouldn't stand out too much. The professor saying she was hopeful the ones that hadn't apparated last week would do so this week made him feel a bit pressured, but he tried to let it go. It would be so convenient to apparate, and he would hate to miss out on something huge like this because he was too cowardly to really try.

He lined up along with the rest of the sixth years, and they all had to try apparating to the other end of the Great Hall. He hadn't managed to apparate last time, so it had to happen today if he wanted to do it before the exam. He took a deep breath, focusing as hard as he could on the three D's. His mind went clear, and focused, and after a few moments of trying he managed to apparate. He gasped when he opened his eyes, he wasn't on the X. He was a few feet away from it, but at least he had moved. He returned to the line and practiced until he got it perfect, feeling more confident with each attempt.

Charlotte was quite eager for another Apparition lesson and joined all of her yearmates in the Great Hall. She listened as the lady from the Ministry of Magic spoke and lined up with everyone else when they were instructed. When it was Charlotte's turn to apparate on the x, the Slytherin tried her best to concentrate, remembering the three D's and everything else the lady had told them throughout their lessons. It took quite a while but Charlotte tried not to break concentration, no matter how much she felt she was holding everyone up. Eventually, before Charlotte could even realise what was happening, the girl had eventually apparated to the other side of the room and the person behind her was already having their go. Beaming, Charlotte joined the line again and continued to try to apparate for the rest of the lesson.

Maddie was determined to conquer apparition this lesson even if it took forever. She made sure that he cleared her mind of all her worries and concerns to ensure that she could finally apparate successfully. She lined up with the other sixth year and visualised the 'X' in her mind and thought about the three D's and before she knew it the strangest feeling appeared in her stomach and she opened her eyes and she was the other side of the hall, near the X. She looked around in disbelief and laughed, she had finally did it! She practised a couple more times before the lesson was over and then walked back to the Gryffindor Common Room in considerably better spirits than she was after the second lesson.

It was the last lesson before the exam and Dan had to do well, he wanted to be able to apparate as much as the next person. So he was determined to be able to apparate by the end of this lesson. He entered the great hall and stood to one side as the woman began to speak and told them what exactly it was the sixth years had to do. He lined up beside the woman with everyone else and waited for further instructions. He listened carefully, intently, watching as she pointed to the red X. Daniel prepped himself before it would be his turn, he watched some people do it first and then it was him. He closed his eyes, clearing his mind of everything that had been recently occupying it. Then, he concentrated on the three D's, making sure to focus on each one equally. He couldn't feel anything and he was about to give up when he felt a strange tug in his stomach and he opened his eyes after a couple of moments, when he was sure he was safe to do so. He blinked once, then twice to make sure he was seeing correctly. He was on the red X. Before the end of the lesson however Dan practiced a few more times, occasionally not getting it but being successful the other times he tried it. When he felt comfortable enough, he thanked the woman before he left the great hall.

Amy was not too worried about Apparition, though that didn't necessarily make her any less nervous before a lesson. She entered the great hall and saw that people were lining up, she must have missed the first couple of minutes. She quickly made her way to the other side of the room, lining up with everyone else. She listened as the instructor told them the sixth years had to end up on the red X, the Hufflepuff wasn't first thankfully so she had time to take a deep breath. When it was her turn, Amy didn't think about anything else other than the three D's, the necessities of apparating. She closed her eyes and waited for the odd sensation in her stomach, however nothing happened. She opened her eyes and sighed, maybe her mind wasn't clear enough, she tried again, and still, nothing. Trying one last time, Amy closed her eyes and forced herself to think of nothing but the D's. Finally, she felt a tug in her stomach and when she opened her eyes once more the sixth year smiled. She wasn't exactly on the X, but she was close enough. She decided to let others have a turn as well and when she felt that she'd practiced enough for the day, before the exam, Amy left the great hall but not before thanking the older woman. Hopefully, the exam would go smoothly.

Last week hadn't been great, Isabelle didn't like not being able to do something and her hope had deflated a little since the first Apparition lesson. She was determined, however, to be successful today. She lined up with the rest of her classmates when instructed and she waited a little impatiently for others to do it until it was her turn and she had to prepare herself mentally before she could clear her mind. Izzy was a little over dramatic sometimes, though she herself wouldn't ever admit it. She liked being able to do things the first time around but she knew that that wasn't always possible. She took a deep breath and didn't concentrate on anything but whatever was necessary - just the three D's. By some miracle, as Izzy focused on only those things, she had managed to apparate. It was about time. She gasped, almost not believing it, but recovered soon from it. She wasn't on the X, but she was in near distance of it. She smiled and tried a couple more times, improving. By the end, she still had not gotten to apparate on the mark but at every attempt she was closer.

Alessio entered the great hall, more consoled by the fact that he was really close to being good at apparating. He just needed to practice a bit more. He waited until the last lesson before the exam began and when it did, Al went to line up with his fellow classmates as the older woman told them where she wanted them to apparate from, and to. Al squinted at the red spot marked 'X' and nodded slightly to himself in reassurance, he could do this. When the lady was finished speaking and people began to apparate, Alessio patiently waited until it was time for him to do it.

Then, he pulled his hands out of his pockets and closed his eyes, clearing his mind. He thought only of the three D's, knowing how important they were in order to apparate as well as being conscious of where he was and where he wanted to appear. After a few moments, he felt a familiar tug in his stomach and the world began to spin, and when he opened his eyes, one at a time, he smiled to himself. He'd managed to apparate just a few feet away from the X, however the more times he tried it the better he got. Eventually, Al landed on the X and that was what he had hoped to achieve this lesson. He could be a little less worried about the exam next week now.

James was feeling optimistic as he headed to the Great hall for the third and final apparition lesson. Though he had missed the target on his previous attempt he had still managed to apparate so he knew he could physically do it. James fell into the group and listened to the ministry woman as she explained what they would be doing during the lesson. One by one students attempted to apparate to the x on the other side of the hall. Soon it was James's turn. He stepped up and looked across the hall at the x, focused on the three Ds and tried to visualise himself landing on the x. James closed his eyes and recited the three Ds and as he focused on the x he could himself being pulled, his stomach flipped and he felt dizzy. James felt his feet hit the ground and when he opened them he was standing on the x. Over the lesson he practiced a few times and when he left he felt elated.
