Apparition,6,3Before the end of the lesson, Irene Finch hoped that all of the students would succeed in apparating directly to their target, especially since this would be the last practice they would have before the exam took place at the end of the semester. Most of the students had managed to apparate during the last lesson, but that didn't always translate to success at the exam.

Irene addressed the small group of sixth years. "Today, we will resume practicing" she began, her icy blue eyes staring at each of the students in turn as she spoke. "I am hopeful that those of you who weren't able to apparate last week will do so this week. The next time we meet will be your exam and you will only get one opportunity to succeed or fail. Your test will require you to be accurate when you apparate, so today, I'd like everyone to line up beside me."

It didn't take them long to queue beside her. "Alright...I'd like you all to attempt apparating from this end of the Great Hall to that end" she said, pointing towards the doors of the Great Hall. "The red X marks the spot" she added, knowing that they had probably noticed an X etched onto the floor with magic as they walked in. Glancing at all the students beside her, she hoped there would be no splinchings today. "You can begin whenever you're ready" she said to the student who was first in line. "As soon as you feel comfortable, you may leave. But, please do remember that this is your final opportunity to practice before your exam." They were adults by wizarding standards or close enough anyway, so she wasn't going to force any of them to stay. It was in their best interests to take advantage of the time though.

Practice attempting to apparate one by one. Practice as many times as you'd like. Please warn me via PM if you plan on splinching.

The previous apparation lesson had gone well and although Archie hadn't apparated entirely on target, he was proud he'd made it close enough and was excited to see where the next lesson would take him. He entered the great hall hand in hand with Orwell, sitting down comfortably and smiling as the teacher spoke, eyes meeting those of his peers and then his own. The seriousness of the exam wasn't lost on Archie. He knew it was important, cardinal to qualifying for his apparation license and therefore he wanted to do well. To focus hard and learn. But he also wanted to have fun in the process, making the most of the time he had to learn how to apparate with his peers and especially with Orwell before seventh year started and the seriousness of the NEWT exams dawned on him.

Archie stood and lined up as instructed, making sure he was first in line so he could quickly get his turn over with and to take one for the team of his peers behind him in case they felt nervous to apparate, or practice apparating while being the center of attention. Archie was of course, not nervous in the slightest so he didn't hesitate to apparate after the teacher explained what they would be doing. He closed his eyes, focusing hard and keeping the three D's in his mind as he visualized appearing on top of the red X on the other side of the room. He exhaled, eventually feeling a tug at his core, a wave of nausea and disorientation over taking him. As he opened his eyes, he looked town to see he'd apparated onto the red X, though like before was on the side of it rather than the center. He knew that getting it right before the exam would be difficult, but he was also pleased with himself and held up his arms in celebration, shouting "Hell yeah!" at the top of his lungs to his peers across the room before stepping aside to let the next person take their turn. He attempted to practice again during the lesson to hopefully to get it as accurate as possible, wanting to do his best when it was exam time.

Prudence hadn't succeeded in apparating yet, adn the Gryffindor couldn't help but be nervous as she thought about the abilities she'd need to have in order to actually succeed. She was by no means a weak witch, but it didn't mean there weren't things that challenged her - and Prudence felt especially sure that her mixed blood heritage brought that to her. She sighed entering the classroom, they would be trying their best to apparate to a certain point. She needed confidence. For a moment Prudence focused on what Asa had told her. She could do this - he seemed to think so anyways.

She remembered how hard she trained adn begged to become an animagus. She knew that she needed to be great at this - or at least try, in order to make her fathers proud. Prudence took a breath and concentrated on the spot in the floor. She needed to believe in herself. She envisioned the spot, and took a deep breath. The air around her condensed and it felt as if it was swirling her mind in her head through the holes in her ears. She was dizzy, but when she opened her eyes she'd done it. Prudence leapt into the air with a holler of excitement, forgetting herself for a moment. Unlike others who cheered though she felt herself become embarrassed and then shuffled to the side, waiting to practice again.

Pia's previous apparation lessons had gone by without a hitch and for that reason she was furthermore excited for her next lesson and what it would ensue. She quickly entered the great hall on time, noticing the red X marked on the floor as she walked in but paying it no mind until she sat with her peers and the teacher began the lesson. Soon the task for the day had become all to apparent and while Pia was excited to continue practicing apparation before the exam she was not excited to apparate while being at the center of everyone else's attention.

She worried that she would mess something up or accidentally splinch herself despite being successful before so when the class was instructed to line up she made sure to stand near the back. After watching a few of her peers apparate before her, she managed to muster enough confidence to apparate in front of everyone when it was her turn. Nervously, Pia adjusted her glasses and balled her hands awkwardly into fists at her sides as she closed her eyes, once again focusing on the magic running through her body and repeating the three D's in her mind. Eventually she felt a tug at her core and nausea forming as if the room was moving around her and when the feelings for the most part subsided, she reopened her eyes to see she was successful. She'd apparated to the center of the red X as instructed and felt not only pleased with herself but furthermore confident. Pia then practiced for the remainder of the lesson hoping to hone her skills as much as possible before the exam.

Ailsa was glad for the harder level of work, while it did keep her extremely busy she enjoyed the level of work that she had and was generally quite happy with the few classes she had that she could then focus on. The teen was getting herself ready for the week of classes, keen to just get started on the day. She had managed to get her inner time table back to something that was relatively normal, it wasn't like she no longer stayed up late, it was just not as late and she generally got more regular and normal sleep than she had before, the benefit of having so few classes. Ailsa put the books she would need into her bag and left the dorm room, she didn't have any quidditch and was to an extent really missing the sport. She missed playing games, but she was pretty happy to still be able to practice, it was a good and fun way to let loose. The teen made her way to the classroom, shifted the weight of her bag, so that it sat more comfortably on her shoulder. This would be a good week, she was hopeful for that.

Ailsa arrived at the great hall for the apparition lesson, the final apparition lesson before the end of the exam and she was rather excited and keen for it. The teen arrived at the room and looked to the professor at the front as she began explaining all that they would be doing within this lesson. She nodded along, before watching as the students lined up and began trying before her, she wanted to get it right when it finally came to her, she wanted to be able to have done it correctly, she was keen on passing the exam when the time came for that. Ailsa was surprised when it finally came around for her to try, she gathered her thoughts and moved to where she was supposed to stand. The teen remembered what they'd been taught and focused her mind on that, she emptied her mind and focused on where she wanted to be. Where she thought she would need to be. The teen then felt the ever gentle tug and let herself be pulled by it and suddenly she was at the other side of the room, feeling pretty damn happy that she'd managed it. It did really help her feel confident about the exam that she was going to have to be doing.

The end of the quidditch season was a pretty much the only bad thing about this time of year, though Isaiah hadn't done all that well with the quidditch he still loved it dearly, and without the matches and only being able to practice his life became, he thought a little less interesting, though he worked hard to try to get what he wanted from the practices he had. The teen was feeling pretty good about how things were, he was deciding with ease that he didn't want to continue with his quidditch after school, but was definitely going to enjoy working on different things that would open up to him when he left school. Of course this did mean doing well in the NEWTs but Isaiah was already working hard at these sixth year exams that he knew it would go pretty well when it came to the next year, he would ensure that it would be fine, working just as hard next year as he was during this year. Isaiah began getting ready for his classes that day, smiling to himself as he did so, the boy put his books in the bag and ran a hand through his hair as he left the room.

Isaiah was very keen to pass apparition almost more so than any of the other sixth year exams that he had this year, and as the boy stepped into the room he was very keen to have it perfect in this last lesson before the exam, that was exactly what he wanted. The teen had been reading up, what little time he could really spare to it, and so he was very much ready for this lesson. He glanced at the few others, waving a little nervously to Pia, before looking to the teacher who briefed them on what they'd be doing, though as he looked at the hall and the mark on the ground it appeared to him to be quite obvious. He watched with interest as the others in the class began apparating, he lingered back slightly, not wanting to be first but also not keen to be last. All too soon the ravenclaw captain found himself at the top of the hall with a look of concentration mixed in with nervousness on his face. He smiled to himself, calming himself down before concentrating, concentrating on wanting to be on the X, and he felt the gentle pull and leaned into it. In an instant he was at the other side and he had managed it. Isaiah felt proud of himself, he'd done it, surely the exam now would be no issue.

Life for Orwell was anything but dull, he had been very excited about everything that had been happening, from the valentines day stuff and the roses it was all going pretty well, and after the few days spent just thinking about the roses, he remembered the conversation he'd had with the boy who had given him the rose, the slytherin of his year, he of course had no idea what the boy was like, or if he would even be interested. The king of flowers was returning from the gardens, having spent even more time than usual within the dying plants, the autumn falling upon the castle was not good for the plants he had been growing for the students rose collection. But it wasn't a bad time, it was a good time, he loved the process of flowers dying and the new winter plants living. Orwell was however kept exceedingly busy by it all, and he was thankful for. The teen was able to pack up what he would need for class and then leave for the classroom that he needed to be in that day. The teen was smiling brightly to himself as he did so.

Orwell arrived with Archie, holding his hand and leaning slightly into the boy's shoulder, of course he was excited to be doing this, but was also just so glad to be able to spend the time with his best friend, since Orwell was in more classes than Archie he didn't often get to spend time with him, which he always considering a disappointment, but in this one at the very least they got to spend time together. He stood directly behind Archie in the line only letting go of his hand when the other boy went to go apparate. He watched carefully as his best friend concentrated ready to spring forward should anything go wrong but it was unnecessary when the boy was fine and managed it fine, he gave a happy thumbs up to him before going himself. Running a hand through the currently muted purple and smiling to himself easily, concentrating his mind on doing exactly what Archie had done. He felt that tug and just leaned into it before he was suddenly on the other side of the room. With that done, he checked to make sure everything was fine and then rushed back over to Archie spending the rest of the time with him until it was time to leave.

Carlotta had never been so excited for a class as she was for aparation. Last lesson, in her eyes, had been rather successful, and so new she wanted to continue as soon as possible. She was nervous that last lesson had been some kind of fluke, but was somewhat comforted by the fact that, in the past, she had not been a one-hit wonder. If she had succeeded before, she could succeed again. That was her philosophy and she would be sticking to it firmly. They would be practicing once more, and so the Hufflepuff steeled any remaining nerves to get to business. She had exited the Great hall on a high last time, and she wanted to do that again. She mentioned the exam, and Carlotta nodded slightly. That was the most important part, whilst all of this was just getting the engine going.

The expectation of the exam was very real. Last time Carlotta had needed a moment to get going, and this time she wanted to be as successful as she wanted to be in the exam. They were instructed to line up beside her, and Carlotta joined the line at the appropriate spot. It was further than last lesson – it was not a hoop this time, which was a step or so from her location. They would be crossing the hall to the marked spot, but fortunately, they had plenty of rounds to continue practicing – up until the lesson ended, anyway. There weren’t too many of them at least. As long as she kept chipping away, she hoped that she would be prepared for the examination.

Harking back towards last lesson, the Hufflepuff focused on the spot at the end of the hall right up until it was her go to try. Others had had ranging successes and failures, and she wanted hers to align more with a success, for sure. She had her destination now. It was time for the other two Ds of the trio were accessed, and as they were, she found herself remembering the discomfort of last lesson, and when she had opened her eyes, she had succeeded. The Hufflepuff avoided the loud cheering of some of her colleagues, preferring a quiet, private smile of satisfaction, before returning to repeat the process as many times as she could squeeze into the time period.
