This was an important milestone in the life of a wizard, and she knew that many of the students looked at their license as a taste of the freedom they'd earn on their way to becoming fully trained wizards. With the registration list tucked in a folder that was under her arm, the woman stepped into the room. She called attendance, making sure that no one had snuck into the room without paying their galleons. "Good afternoon, sixth years. My name is Irene Finch and I'm here on behalf of the Department of Magical Transportation to prepare you for your apparition exam." Irene paced the front as she spoke, her heels clicking as she moved. "The headmistress has been kind enough to lift the enchantment placed on this room so that you will be able to practice apparating within these walls for the duration of our lessons."

Her voice echoed throughout the room. With so few students and the furniture against the walls, her voice carried easily. The woman looked at a student in the front, her blue eyes piercing into the student. "I will warn you from the start that your ability to apparate will have little to do with what house you are in or your blood status. Your ability to apparate will, however, depend on your ability to focus on the three Ds: Destination.Determination. Deliberation." She enunciated each word. "If you fail to understand these concepts, you will fail your exam. First, you must choose your destination. Next, you will focus your determination and once you feel you are ready..." With a small step, Irene apparated next to one of the sixth years who had been whispering while she was lecturing and continued, "you must move with deliberation like so." She gave the student a sharp look.

Moving towards the front of the room, Irene continued lecturing the students. She knew that some were probably expecting to apparate today but she also knew that the foundation for apparating started with this information. Soon enough their time was up, and they had done nothing but listen. "Don't forget the 3 Ds. I will see you all next time. A word to the wise: Don't bring anything with you to the next lesson. The less you carry, the easier it will be. As a reminder, the moment you step out of this room, the enchantment will be put back in place until next time we meet. It would be very, very unwise to consider apparating anywhere on the school grounds until then." With that, she dismissed the students though she waited a few moments longer in the event that any of the students had questions.

RP the lesson. Nothing fancy is necessary, but remember that these lessons are so that your student can earn a license. Without it, they can't apparate!
This is just the first of only three lessons before the exam takes place.Apparition,6,1

After taking the same classes each year, Matthew felt a little odd about starting apparition. He had no idea if he would be any good at this, as he idea of apparating anywhere seemed almost impossible to him. It would be very useful, though, so he hoped it wouldn't be too difficult to learn.

He made his way to the Great Hall with other sixth year students. He didn't know the woman that was teaching them, but that made sense as she introduced herself as someone from the ministry. He listened to her talk, appreciating that she mentioned blood status had nothing to do with the ability to apparate. He tried his best to pay attention to the three D's and remember them. He listened to the lecture, wondering if that was all they would do today. It seemed that way, and he didn't mind. It made sense that they wouldn't immediately have to try, and now he had more time to focus. As they were dismissed, he left the Great Hall with the rest of the sixth year, wondering what they would be doing in the next lesson.

Without question learning to apparate was what James had been looking forward to most about sixth year. Ezra always liked showing off his ability to apparate when James saw him over the holidays and it would be fun for James if the next time he saw him he could do the same. There was also the practical benefits of the ability as well.

James made his way to the Great hall where there was an unknown woman waiting for them. Once everyone was inside and the lesson could begin the woman introduced herself as being from the ministry of magic. James sighed, he wondered if she was as stuffy and rigid as every other ministry official he had met. Despite her potentially being dull James still listened to every word the woman said because what she was teaching them was certainly not boring. He would need to remember the three Ds, though he wasn't able to write them down James began to chant them in his head until the lesson was over. When the woman dismissed them James made his way out of the Great hall still chanting the three Ds in his head as he ventured back to the Gryffindor common room.

Cyan was sure that this class was going to be the most difficult of all her classes, and most of that was all in her head. She was so afraid of making a fool of herself and splinching herself that she was nearly shaking upon entering the classroom. The puff listened intently to the lecturer. Blood status gave no perks which she supposed was lucky for the other students, otherwise she'd have an unfair advantage. Cyan listened carefully, repeating the three D's in her head over, and over, and over again. She wanted to remember them. Cyan turned toward her house mate, Alessio she thought and gave him a look. "Hmm. Blood status doesn't matter..." However she didn't get to say the rest of her mean remark as the teacher appeared beside her. The Puff jumped. "Sh..." She stopped herself short. "Sorry." She apologized to the professor. Perhaps it was for the better.

Charlotte wasn't really sure what to expect of her first Apparition lesson. She had never really thought about needing to apparate anywhere and had usually apparated with her parents whenever she needed to get somewhere quickly. As the girl entered the Great Hall she paid her galleons and waited around with the rest of her yearmates for the lesson to begin. The unknown woman introduced herself as someone from the Ministry and Charlotte smiled at her, hoping that she was a nice enough teacher for them all. When she began to lecture, Charlotte listened as she went through the three D's and became slightly bored when she continued to speak about a lot of other stuff. It was disappointing that they weren't going to apparate during their first lesson but Charlotte didn't really expect much else. When the lesson ended, Charlotte thanked the lady before heading out of the Great Hall.

The sixth year prefect was actually excited to be back at school. He had spent so many years in this place, unable to make friends, living a lonely lifestyle and this year all of that had changed. Emma was back in his life and everything seemed right again. A part of him realised that for his happiness to be so intrinsically linked with a girl didn’t seem like perhaps the best idea but Theo was quite happy to just allow that to be how it was. He was too wrapped up in his happiness. He knew he should focus more on his classes, his quidditch but his mind was so wrapped up in her that he’d been slacking, on all fronts. The teen was getting ready for classes that day. He was putting on his uniform, pinning his badge, checking his schedule and then making sure he had everything for the day ahead. It was the first week so it was unlikely they’d be doing anything, but he still made sure he had all the right books and his notes before heading to it. Excited by what this day would bring him, for the first time really eager for class.

Tholomyes had been keen for apparition classes but upon arriving at the hall, he was made slightly nervous, so far in his magical career he hadn't so much as fumbled when it came to the various aspects of magic, but this was something else entirely, something he wasn't sure he was quite ready for. The ravenclaw walked into the great hall, and was met with a professor from the ministry but no desks for them to work from. Were they going to be doing it today? He couldn't think of anything worse than that. But instead he focused his mind, he looked up at the woman, noting the familiarity of her surname but listening to what she was telling them. It became evident to him that it would be a lesson mostly filled with the teacher telling them about it, rather than actually doing it, which suited him, since he didn't really feel confident about doing it straight away. But, at the very least it was a rather quick lesson, the explanation, one that he would write down later, and then focus on doing it then. The prefect left the room, feeling more confident about it, and knowing he had a lot more time to get familiar with the terms and build up his confidence for it.

Alessio had signed up for apparition because he wanted something different to be able to do instead of just studying magic all the time, it got tiring and the sixth year had to admit it was something useful at the very least and a break from everything else. He listened to what the woman who introduced herself as Irene Finch was saying, they of course weren't going to apparate on the first lesson. Alessio refrained from rolling his eyes and said nothing as his classmate Cyan mentioned something about blood status. Naturally she would take any and all opportunities to mention it whenever she could, though he was surprised she did so to him of all the muggle borns in his year. Or well, anyone who wasn't pure. He hid a smirk as the professor subtly told her off. They were dismissed before long so the sixth year left the hall with the rest of his classmates.

Daniel arrived to the great hall, not knowing what to expect yet from these apparition lessons. When he'd heard that someone from the ministry was coming to teach them, it was all the more intriguing to the prefect. He listened carefully to the woman as she began telling them about the three 'Ds', he'd have to revise over them every day so that he would not forget any of them. Dan needed to focus for the next couple of weeks. They were dismissed and the Slytherin left the room with everyone else, preparing himself mentally for it as he knew he'd need to in order to apparate.

Amy entered the great hall with her brother, kind of hesitant for Apparition. She didn't know what it took to be able to apparate and she was hoping it wasn't anything too big. Though even if it was she knew she would be prepared and could do it. The woman began the lecture and the Hufflepuff frowned, slightly disappointed that they weren't apparating yet but she knew it was important to get through the basics in order for her to pass. She quickly glanced at her brother but he seemed interested in what the woman was saying, sure, it was helpful but most of the things she said didn't excited the puff. So she took a glance at the clock and sighed inwardly in relief as they were dismissed soon after she looked at the time. Amy left the room with her brother.

Izzy had been waiting for Apparition for a while now, she was much happier than she'd ever been and for the first time she was excited about school - normally she wouldn't think about how she felt, but rather simply just did it. She usually just stuck her head in her books when it came to it. She listened to the woman from the ministry's lecture, a little impatient to get started but listening intently and with curiosity nonetheless. She was disappointed that they couldn't try it out already, though she'd have to wait. The Ravenclaw sighed and when they were dismissed left the room. She would head to the library to work on something else.

Rome knew that really at the end of this semester she could leave school if she wanted. She could pack up her things and walk away. She’d have her apparition license, she was already seventeen, there was very little keeping her at the school apart from, well, Cairo and her one friend from all the years Lanithro. The teen brushed her hair slowly as she sat getting ready for the day. There wasn’t much about this term that excited her, the fact that she’d be passing a very important wizarding test at the end of this semester was all that kept her motivated, It would be the only class she’d willingly attend. The girl put down the brush and sighed heavily. She just had to get ready, bite the bullet and get herself together. She took her bag and placed all the books she would need inside. Making sure she had her wand and then, only then did she leave the room for the class. She knew that she’d get Cairo at the classroom, there was no sense in waiting for him, for all she knew he was already at the classroom.

Rome walked into the great hall, for the only aspect of this year that she was looking forward to, apparition. It would be the best class that she would do in this semester, the only one she really cared about because of the doors that it would definitely open to her. The teen picked a spot in the room, standing close with Cairo and looked up at the teacher. Sneering a little at the woman's name. Here Rome had thought she was done with Finch's. In any case Rome was just eager to get started on learning what she needed to learn. The teen was therefore pretty annoyed when as it turned out she wouldn't be doing any apparition on that day, but rather it would come later in the next lessons. The girl sighed slightly but did listen to all the teacher was saying about it. After it was over, Rome left the great hall and headed towards the dorm so that she could write down the bits and pieces that had been gone over in the lecture. She wanted to pass this first time, she felt like it was the most important exam of her school career. It would open doors, she needed to pass.

Maddie was so excited to learn how to apparate. It would surely make life so much easier and would stop her having to travel to different places by that dreadful thing called a portkey. She threw on a jumper and walked downstairs to the Great Hall to meet the other sixth years who would be learning to apparate. She saw that her best friends were already there so she went over to stand with Amy and Charlotte while she waited for the apparition lesson to begin.

She listened as the Ministry Official stood before them, lecturing the room about apparition. She counted on her fingers the 'three d's' and tried to remember each one in turn. It seemed simple enough but she knew that apparition was anything but easy. The lesson soon ended after the lecture had ended and Maddie was a little disappointed that they hadn't had the chance to try and apparate that lesson but reminded herself that she would probably need all the extra time to try and remember the three D's and what they meant.
