Apparition,6,1Each year, Irene Finch represented the Ministry in coming to the school to give the students the tools they would need to pass their exam. This was an important milestone in the life of a wizard, and she knew that many of the students looked at their license as a taste of the freedom they'd earn on their way to becoming fully trained wizards. "Good afternoon, sixth years. My name is Irene Finch and I'm here on behalf of the Department of Magical Transportation to prepare you for your apparition exam." Irene paced the front as she spoke, her heels clicking as she moved. "The deputy headmaster has been kind enough to lift the enchantment placed on this room so that you will be able to practice apparating within these walls for the duration of our lessons."

Her voice echoed throughout the room. With so few students and the furniture against the walls, her voice carried easily. The woman looked at a student in the front, her blue eyes piercing into the student. "I will warn you from the start that your ability to apparate will have little to do with what house you are in or your blood status. Your ability to apparate will, however, depend on your ability to focus on the three Ds: Destination.Determination. Deliberation." She enunciated each word. "If you fail to understand these concepts, you will fail your exam. First, you must choose your destination. Next, you will focus your determination and once you feel you are ready..." With a small step, Irene apparated next to one of the sixth years who had been whispering while she was lecturing and continued, "you must move with deliberation like so." She gave the student a sharp look.

Moving towards the front of the room, Irene continued lecturing the students. She knew that some were probably expecting to apparate today but she also knew that the foundation for apparating started with this information. Soon enough their time was up, and they had done nothing but listen. "Don't forget the 3 Ds. I will see you all next time. A word to the wise: Don't bring anything with you to the next lesson. The less you carry, the easier it will be. If you have any questions, I can remain for a few moments to answer them." She smiled briefly, her attempt at appearing warm and inviting. Holding up a hand, Irene asked them for their attention once more. In a warning tone, she told them "And, just as a reminder...the moment you step out of this room, the enchantment will be put back in place until next time we meet. It would be very, very unwise to consider apparating anywhere on the school grounds until then." With that, she dismissed the students and began to gather up her things so that she could get back to the office.

RP the lesson. Nothing fancy is necessary, but remember that these lessons are so that your student can earn a license. This is just the first of only three lessons before the exam takes place.

Desislav didn't like classes very much, but this was no ordinary class. This was so he could get his apparating license! So, he was one of the first students to enter the classroom, eager to get started. He knew that this class would be well worth the galleons he'd paid to attend. As the Ministry official began to speak, Desislav made sure he paid close attention to what she was saying. Nothing was going to stand in the way of him learning how to apparate.

Destination. Determination. Deliberation. Easy-peasy, the boy thought in his head as the woman explained the keys to apparating. He gave a soft chuckle as Ms. Finch demonstrated, landing in front of a girl who'd been talking. It served her right. As the woman headed back to the front of the room, Desislav was getting more excited. Now, it'd be their turn to try. He just knew it. And then Ms. Finch dismissed them. Desislav stood in his spot, disappointment clear on his face at how quickly they'd been dismissed. "No practice? What kind of class is this?" he muttered as he headed out of the room.

Felix had been looking forward to learning to apparate since day one of Hogwarts so he was excited that the time had finally come to work towards getting his licence. Finally he wouldn't have to rely on Axel or his father to chafer him around. The Ravenclaw made his way into the Great hall for the first lesson. The hall looked strange without the regular tables and benches. The woman at the front of the hall introduced herself as Irene Finch. Felix wondered if the woman was related to Alana, he looked over to see if he could spot her in the hall, he caught a glimpse of her at the other end of the hall, too far to signal her and he couldn't tell if she knew the woman. Felix listened while the woman talked them through the process for apparation, and was a little impressed when she performed her demonstration, though Felix was disappointed when it became clear that they would not be practising apparating. Once they were dismissed Felix made his way out of the hall, he was looking forward to their next lesson, where presumably they would be apparating.

Alana took her sweet time heading down to the Great Hall for their lessons. She was not a fan of any form of travel besides flying, too many years of becoming sick after portkey or side-along apparition having taken its toll on the young girl. She was only attending the course because it had already been paid for by her parents, and she knew better than to waste their money.

Giving Aunt Irene only the smallest of smiles as she entered, Alana stood well away from her. She couldn't imagine how the Zhefaroviches did it, having their aunts and uncles and brothers and sisters teaching them. It was awkward. As Ms. Finch began her spiel, Alana stood with her arms crossed, her stomach already grumbling, readying itself for what it was familiar with in terms of this form of travel. Alana had heard it all before, her aunt thinking it would be helpful to know what apparating was about in an effort to diminish her aversion to it. The lesson was as well received now as it had been then, and the teenager breathed a sigh of relief as they were dismissed without practice. Taking another deep breath, Alana headed for the door, wondering if it was possible to simply not show up for the rest of lessons.

With the beginning of the semester upon her, Lydia was trying her best to focus and she was sure it would all be fine. The teen had worked hard in the last semester and he would intend to work hard in this. Though her aspirations were to be a teacher more than anything else when she left school, it didn't mean she would ever take things easy, she wanted to do well, she knew she'd never do as well as her brother had done during his time at school but he knew that she would do well enough. The teen was getting ready for the first week of classes, and she was just wanted to have a bit of fun along with it. The fact that this wasn't as important as the OWLs year had been and the NEWT year would be, she knew this would be her time to spend a little bit more time upon herself. And really the girl was doing that as much as she possibly could. The teen was putting her uniform on, putting the prefect badge on her uniform before gathering up her things and then left the room.

Lydia had to admit she'd been waiting for this for years, and as soon as the girl walked into the great hall for the apparition lesson, she was practically bouncing on the balls of her feet. The teen was just so looking forward to this freedom that she would have, that she had seen her brother with when he had turned seventeen. It was another part of the life she was entering into as an adult, a happy and settled witch who would leave school with all the skills she required. The teen looked to the woman at the front began speaking, she glanced at the slytherin prefect when the woman at the front said what her name was, and Lydia had to think that the two some how related, but that wasn't the important part, rather she was just looking forward to being able to apparate. Lydia focused on what the professor was saying and though she had been hopeful for it, it made sense that she wouldn't be trying it out just yet, rather she just put to memory what they were told about how to apparate. Lydia was excited for this, knowing how to apparate was exciting.
