Irene Finch had specifically asked for the tables to be left in place for the exam. If the sixth years were going to be licensed, then they would need to possess the ability to work with their surroundings. Apparating across an empty room was convenient for beginners to practice, but the chances of apparating to a truly empty space were going to be slim to none in the real world. There'd be tree filled forests, garbage strewn alleys, and perhaps, when they were lucky, the occasional field or valley. This would be an especially important test for those students who were interested in careers in the Ministry as apparating was a requirement for many of the positions. It was an important skill, allowing independence of movement.

Certain that she was prepared, Irene stepped out to greet the students who were waiting just outside the Great Hall. The students were seated on the benches that had been provided to await their turn. "Good afternoon" she greeted, her icy blue eyes taking them in one by one. "In a moment, I'll begin calling you in alphabetically by your last name. Once I do, I'll ask you to apparate to a spot in the room. You will only get one shot. I will not pass you if even a hair, button, or shoelace remains where you once stood." Irene's gaze drifted by one student in particular. Irene let them sit with that for a moment, wanting it to be clear because she hated the annoying begging for another chance that came when a student failed. She looked at their faces, wondering which ones she would be seeing in the courses that were provided by the Ministry throughout the year. Many people failed the exam on their first try, but the woman did nothing to reassure the students of this fact.

Stepping back into the room, where her clipboard was already charmed to take notes, Irene glanced at the list and then called the first student forward. Once the student was inside, Irene shut the door tightly and began the exam.

Roleplay your character's attempt to apparate to a point in the room. Don't forget that the Great Hall would look as it would on a regular day minus the students. :p

You will get an exam grade of A or T depending on whether you roleplay your character succeeding or failing. Extra credit will be given for the level of detail in your roleplay regardless of passing or failing. Feel free to godmod Irene if it is necessary to your roleplay. If you have any questions, PM me. No replies will be accepted beyond Wednesday, April 25.Apparition,6,7

Ares was only nervous for one exam that semester, Apparition. It was the one class he needed to pass, others were important but he only got one shot at this. The teen stood at the great hall, as the exams got started, each person being called by the teach to go and do the exam. He was pacing nervously, waiting his turn, repeating under his breathe the important things they had been taught. The boy knew it was important to get this exam, he wanted to get it. Ares ran a hand nervous through his hair, this waiting was the worst part, if only he could just get in and do it, then it would be fine, but he was waiting as names before him were called. Everyone else seemed far more calm than him. Which was certainly unfair. He sighed heavily, it would be soon, and in the blink of an eye it would over.

Finally! His name was called, and though Ares thought this would calm his nerves it certainly didn't. He could feel his hands shaking as he stepped into the great hall. It was a little different from the practices, there were things in the way. He knew it was the same principle but this didn't do much to help his overall confidence about the situation. He listened as the professor told him where to stand and where he was to apparate to. It seemed miles away as he stared at it. He wiped his hands on his trousers and took out his wand, gripping it tightly in his hand as he focused. It took a few attempts to clear his mind enough that he could focus at all, but eventually he could feel himself calming down, getting more used to being this he needed to do. The teen closed his eyes briefly and using the three D's as told to them by that professor focused, was determined, envisioned where he wanted to go, and after a few moments felt the pull. By the time he'd opened his eyes he was where he needed to be. It was great! He'd done it. He couldn't feel any pain, and nothing appeared to be missing. Well, that hadn't been as bad as he'd thought. Though his hands were shaking again, as he waited to see if he'd passed.

Sianna had been confident in the last two lessons in learning how to apparate, she'd managed it more than once and so the prefect knew that it would be damn ridiculous if she then didn't pass this exam. She knew it was one of the important exams that she was doing as she began to venture into the magical world for herself as a fully qualified witch. She listened to the professor's brief instructions before she then nodded, it wouldn't be too long a wait for Sianna, she had always cursed her name for being a little difficult, but for once it would pay off. She knew that the longer she had to wait the more bored and impatient she would become meaning that she wouldn't be concentrating as much as she could. So it was good when after a few others Sianna was called into the great hall by the professor.

Sianna hadn't been able to practice apparating as much as she might've practiced spells or read over her notes, but she had managed it before, so there was no reason for her to not get it now. She looked at the professor before moving to where she was to begin. There were a number of things in her way but this didn't phase her in the slightest. She focused on where she was aiming to go, she had the image of it in her head, she let her mind only focus on that as her grip tightened on her wand. She knew this would become easier and more fluid with time, but even now in no time at all, Sianna could feel the pull and with a crack she was in the designated area for her as pointed out by the professor. She was proud of herself in that moment to say least, having gotten there, and after checking herself over in an almost frantic and undignified way she knew all of her was there. She was also certainly happy, just a few more exams left and she was a seventh year.

Zared had been looking forward to this day ever since he'd learned about that sort of magic from his parents. It was the mark of a true wizard. NEWTS and OWLs were fine markers too, but being able to apparate was the best thing a wizard could know how to do. It was the mode of transport for all of the wizards in the world. Zared didn't fly, and nor would he ever use floo powder, so apparation was important for him to learn and be legally allowed to do. The slytherin stood with the other students, with Elysia as the teacher from the prior lessons told them how this day would be set up. Zared didn't care, when it was his turn he would just go in and hopefully do what was necessary and pass. Then everything would be good and easy. The teen did have to wait very long, with his surname being the last letter of the alphabet pretty much everyone else had gone when it was finally his turn. He didn't mind too much, it wasn't like he was particularly nervous about it.

Zared stepped into the great hall when he was called upon. he had managed to apparate in the last two lessons and he was pretty confident in himself in being able to do this. It was non-verbal magic and as he'd come to learn with a little instruction he was much better at that. that he might've otherwise thought. The teen took the spot he was supposed to and looked to where he was supposed to be heading. He was already thinking about his path in his head. First just how he'd get there if he had to just cut straight across the hall to get to it, and then he focused on the apparation. He cleared his mind, it only thinking about where he wanted to go. What that place was, how familiar and known to him it was, and with a quick pull and snap, Zared was where he was meant to be. His body relaxed and he realised he was perhaps a little more nervous about it than he'd first thought, but it didn't matter, he'd done it, and he was sure he'd done it well.

Asaiah was excited about the apparition exam. He had managed to apprate during the lessons so was feeling confident that he would do so again today. He entered the Great Hall with the other sixth year students at sat down on one of the benches. Looking around the room, he noticed that all of the tables and benches weren't put to the sides like in the lessons. It would make apparating a bit more difficult but if he concentrated on the three Ds hard enough, he was sure that it wouldn't be much of a problem. He sat up and listened carefully when the Ministry woman began. Asaiah never liked it when teachers would be calling them in alphabetical order, as he would be one of the last people to attempt to apparate to chosen spot in the Great Hall. He remained seated on the bench until his last name was called out. Becoming slightly nervous now that it was actually his turn to do it, the seventeen-year-old jumped up and walked over to the woman. He nodded when she pointed out the spot he was supposed to apparate to and closed his eyes to focus himself on the task ahead. Destination, Determination, Deliberation. Asaiah repeated in his mind. And then it happened again. Although the Slytherin's eyes were closed, everything went black and he could feel his eyes being forced into his head as if his whole body was being forced through a tight tube. A second later Asaiah felt his feet hit the stone ground. Opening them quickly to see if he had apparated to the spot the woman had told him to apparate to, Asaiah smiled. He had done it, had managed to successfully apparate himself from one spot to another without splinching himself even once. For a brief moment, he wondered how his parents would have reacted to the news of him having apparated without any difficulty.

Eva was feeling very nervous about her apparition exam. She couldn't disappoint her parents, or the examiner, she would not be able to bear it. This entire year she had done really well, had worked so hard, and she wanted to do this exam just as well if not better. But more than that, Eva wanted the freedom that apparition would allow her to have. She didn't really like travelling by portkey, after all. And she would be more independent from her family, something she waited a long time to become. Hopefully, when her name was called and she was in the room doing her exam she could feel more confident. The nervousness didn't ease as one by one each student entered, and left after some time. Slowly, they were nearing the M‘s. She only had one shot. One chance. She took a deep breath when her name was called and followed the woman from the Ministry into the room. Of course, the great hall wasn't set up like the previous lessons, which made it slightly more difficult though the Gryffindor didn't want to doubt herself right now.

She listened very carefully to the instructions, and when she was ready she nodded once to the older woman to signal she was going to try apparating. She closed her eyes, clearing her mind, as much as possible. Then, she imagined everything - the three D‘s were repeating in her head over and over, and each time her thoughts grew stronger and clearer. After a few minutes, Eva felt the world spin. When she opened her eyes again, slowly, the dizziness began to fade and Eva had to blink a couple of times to gather her surroundings. Her mouth opened a little. Mostly in shock, but partly because she was right where she needed to be. Eva didn't know how she had done or whether she had passed, but she had still done it, she had apparated where she had been asked to. That was what mattered right now. Eva thanked the woman before she left the great hall, feeling a lot less worried than she had at the beginning of the exam.
