Glancing at her schedule while still in her office, Irene realized that she was due at Hogwarts New Zealand to teach their sixth years. The woman donned her traveling cloak and rushed out of the door, ignoring her worker who was trying to ask her a question. The woman should've known better than to come to the door without an appointment. Apparating quickly to the village, Ms. Finch rushed off to the castle and entered the Great Hall with the sixth years. Luckily, someone had readied the room for the lesson already. The woman removed her cloak and placed it on a chair at the head of the room before she glanced around at the sixth years that were present. Her icy blue eyes took them all in, judging them and guessing at their proficiency for this type of magic. Apparation was not something that a book smart student could easily master.

Taking a seat, Irene began speaking. "Hello everyone. My name is Irene Finch and I'm here on behalf of the Department of Magical Transportation to prepare you for your apparition exam." Irene crossed her legs at the ankle. "Headmistress Davershire has been kind enough to lift the enchantment placed on this room so that you will be able to practice apparating within these walls for the duration of our lessons."

Irene stood up and began to walk around the seats, her red heels clicking on the ground as she walked. "In order to apparate successfully, you must focus on the three Ds: Destination. Determination. Deliberation." She pronounced each word slowly and loudly, punctuated by the click of her heels, so that even the students standing in the back could hear her. "First, you must choose your destination. Next, you will focus your determination and once you feel you are ready..." With a small step, Irene apparated next to one of the sixth years and continued speaking, "you must move with deliberation like so." It hardly took her any effort to send herself around the room. Some thought that her slight frame was a result of having apparated so many times, but she didn't think so. Her slight frame did make it easier to apparate though.

Strolling back to the front, Irene checked the time and realized that more time had passed than she’d realized. "I think that will be all for today. Don't forget the 3 Ds and I will see you all next time. Be prepared to get right to work next time. A word to the wise: Don't bring anything but yourselves to the next lesson. The lesson you carry, the easier it will be." She smiled briefly, but then her face turned serious again as she remembered something she had nearly forgotten to tell the students. Holding up a hand, Irene asked them for their attention once more. In a warning tone, she told them "And, just as a reminder... the moment you step out of this room, the enchantment will be put back in place until next week. It would be very, very unwise to consider apparating anywhere on the school grounds until then." With that, she dismissed the students and began to gather up her things so that she could get back to the office.

RP the lesson. Nothing fancy is necessary, but remember that these lessons are so that your student can earn a license. This is just the first of only three lessons before the exam takes place.

Also, whenever you get a moment, don't forget to enroll your student in the gradebook so that he/she can receive their grade. You will earn your house some points by completing these lessons.

Sara almost ran to the Great hall. Apparation! They were going to learn Apparation! How cool was that? She couldn've sprinted, but that wasn't exactly appropriate behaviour for a prefect, someone who was supposed to set an example. she couldn't hide the grin on her face, and she arrived at the Great Hall ahead of time. She hated being early, feeling she was rushing people, so she waited until everyone had arrived, and walked in. She had no books with her, except a small notebook and pencil in her robe pocket. just in case they needed to take notes. she'd been warned that it was harder than learning theory, but she'd never had problems with the practical side of magic, rather enjoyed it in fact, and felt this would go well.

The Instructor was quite young, and Sara wondered idly is they were to call her 'Professor' or what? They could hardly call her Irene? She stood near the front, but didn't want to seem overly-eager. She repeated the word to herself, under her breathe; "Three D's Destination, Determination, Deliberation." she smiled, that didn't sound incredibly hard, and she smiled as thew woman zoomed around the room. She was very pretty, and had gorgeous hair. Sara was always a little jealous of people's hair. Shortly, she dismissed them. It hadn't been as eventful a lesson as she'd hoped, but it was a start, and she was looking forward to next week.

Klaus sighed when he walked into the Great Hall. Apparation. He wanted to learn how to apparate, but he did not show his excitement. Klaus sat down in a chair and waited for this class to start. He did not really have any better things to do, but he just wanted to be out of the Great Hall. It felt strange for him to not have any books or materials with him. He was not a very studious students, but carrying around books actually made him look like one. Klaus was not concerned about his image excessively, but he did not like looking like a bum on the street. That had been hard the first few days after running away from home, but he did not have to worry about that anymore. He was at home now, and that was all that mattered to his mother. The woman introduced herself as Irene Finch. Normal name. He was definitely not going to call her by her first name. He only called Elvera by her first name. He actually knew her outside of school, and she allowed it. So he kind of had the right to. The woman went on to talk about the Three D's. Destination, Determination and Deliberation. Klaus thought all the words were excessively big. Couldn't they have come up with a smaller word? It was just such a mouthful. A big guy like him would know well what a mouthful was. He had to eat a lot in order to maintain. He had not started eating a lot until he had hit six feet tall. Now he was seven feet tall, and it now made sense why JazzyMae was so short and unusually violent. Klaus was happy that they did not do much today. He doubted that the Finch woman would give any homework. Somehow, Klaus knew apparating would be difficult for him because of his height. The woman was slender and apparated with ease. She was probably that way because she apparated so much. In Klaus's mind it was completely possible and logical. When Finch decided to finally shut up, Klaus stood up and slowly walked out of the Great Hall. He had nothing to gather, so he just walked slowly as he headed towards the army of stairs he had to climb to get to the Gryffindor common room.

Kate hurried along down to the Great Hall. Today was their first lesson of aparation. Kate was looking forward to learning it, life would be so much easier if she was able to apparate. She wouldn't have the problem like she had at Christmas and her parents would save a lot more money as they would only have to pay for Star and Ryan, Sara and herself would be able to get to New Zealand by themselves. Kate knew it would be hard. She was under no illusion that it would be easy.It was weird going to a class without books, pens or a bag. She felt as if she was missing something. She walked into the hall and noticed it was prepared for their lesson. She was slightly worried that she would end up being the only person who couldn't do this properly or fail her exam but she had to try her best and keep positive. She was usually good with practical magic, she was better at it then theory. She just hoped she wouldn't end up as being the worst.

A young woman entered the Great Hall and introduced herself as Irene Finch. She began explaining the basics of apparation. Destination, Determination and Deliberation. It didn't sound too bad though Kate didn't have the best concentration skills and her mind could wander which would mean problems with determination but she was sure with practice she would get better. The woman seemed to apparate with relative ease. Kate hoped it would be like that with her someday. The woman probably has lots of experience. She obviously wouldn't be here if she wasn't good.Soon class was dismissed and Kate left, feeling rather confident that she would be able to do this.
