It was only the morning after sorting, but already Daisy was anxious to get out and fly. Unfortunately for her, she wasn't allowed to bring one of the brooms from the foster home, so she would have to make do with borrowing one from the shed. There wasn't anything wrong with this, as they were all in similar condition to the ones she'd ridden at home, it was just that she really wanted one to call her own. Maybe she could save up, and get one for her birthday. Maybe she would skip buying some of the less important school supplies, anything that would help her to save money.

Straight after breakfast, Daisy made her way out to the Quidditch Pitch, a determined look on her face. Pushing open the door to the broom shed, she began clicking her tongue and running a finger across the Shooting Stars. She had a good eye for things like this, and knew how to tell which one would be best for her. She pulled one off the wall, and began to smooth down the twigs at the end. Daisy frowned to herself, Why does this school only have Shooting Stars? Silver Arrows are way faster.. She preferred speed over control, a lot like the rest of her life. Daisy had trouble controlling her tongue sometimes, but she was getting better at it. Rolling her eyes, she pushed the silly thoughts out of her mind. The school probably chose those brooms because they were cheaper, and better all round. Duh!

Flicking her golden hair over her shoulder, Daisy strutted out of the shed and into the center of the field. She glanced around, awestruck by the magnitude of the place. She had never before played Quidditch somewhere so massive, and soon she would be Captain for the Slytherin team. Hopefully.. Making sure not to show how impressed she was, she put a bored expression onto her face and mounted the broom. Within seconds, she was off around the pitch, flying faster and higher than an average first year could.

But when it came to Qudditch, Daisy was not average. She really was amazing at it. Unlike other people who are equally good at everything they do, sport was all she had. Daisy couldn't play an instrument if her life depended on it. The only language she spoke was English, and even that wasn't impeccably well. At the age of 11, she knew what she wanted to do with her life. Quidditch, Quidditch, Quidditch; that was the only option. She'd stay out here all night if she had to, and all of the next day, if it helped secure her place as a legendary flyer.

Zooming high above the stands at an incredible speed, Daisy felt exhilarated. Flying was the most amazing thing in the world to her. Doing a sharp spirally move, she continued onwards, pushing the limits of her broom.

(Hi :) dont mind me joining do you?)

Since re-arriving at the school, one of the most important and interesting things Libby wanted to do was play Quidditch. Or at least fly, and feel the wind running through her hair again. A sudden thought struck her as she left the great hall, that second years wouldn't have flying lessons. Determind to keep up her good work, Libby wandered outside and to the broom cupboard to retrieve her canon.

She held her broom in one hand and walked down to the pitch. There wern't many people around, one or two students milling here and there. Libby mounted her broom and looked up into the clear sky. She saw someone already up there, flying impressivly fast for what she guessed was a first year. Almost as good as she was last year. Libby had been flying since she was just four years old, it was something that made her feel free.

Kicking off she circled the pitch and few times, keeping her eyes on the younger student. She could see a great deal of talent in this girl. She flew over swiftly, "Hey" she called, wondering if she would stop to talk to her. "I'm Libby. What's your name? I guess you're a first year?" she asked, vagley remembering her from the sorting ceremony but unsure of her house. "I'm a second year Hufflepuff" she said for the first time, it even sounded slightly strange to her.

Libby continued to fly around the cources set from previous teachers lessons, which Libby had succesfully completed in the first lesson. She called out again, "So you're a fan of flying i see. You are good by the way, very good" she compliented kindly, treating her how she would have liked last year.

(( No not at all ^_^ ))

Daisy had been flying for a few minutes, when she noticed another girl, she seemed to be watching her. Furrowing her forehead, Daisy turned her attention back to where she was going. After doing almost another full lap, she heard a voice near her. Turning her head sharply, she found that it was the same girl that was watching her before. Daisy didn't like to be distracted while flying, but maybe this girl was up for a challenge. Sighing slightly, she slowed down, reaching the same speed as the second year who said her name was Libby. "Daisy. First year Slytherin." she replied simply, looking forwards again. "And yeah, I am a fan of flying, thanks." she said, when Libby told her she was good.

"Wanna race?" she smirked, noticing the Hufflepuff girl was riding a Canon. They were better than Shooting Stars, but she loved a challenge. Daisy especially loved it when she was on the slower broom, as when she won it would show how superior her flying skills were. She'd been flying since the day the day she moved into the foster home, which was when she was a month old. The older kids had told her stories of how they'd sit her on the front of the their brooms and race around, and that even as a baby she could grip onto them quite well. Obviously she couldn't remember this, and it sounded quite impossible, but then again, she was very strong.

Ah a Slytherin. Libby hoped houses wouldn't clash at this point as she nodded to Daisy. Sure a race would be fun. She would go easy on her, just because it would boost her confidence. She paused in mind air and decided there was no need to go easy, she was a perfectly good flyer herself. "Alright then, you're on." Libby did a small front forward flip and glided next to her. "Three laps going in and out the post" she said, nodding towards the three hoops in the centre of the pitch. Competitivly she knew it would be an easy win, she for instance, was older and more aware of the cource ahead. She turned to give her a grin before shouting "Go!" and felt the rush of the air around her. She turned her head slightly to the left and annoying found Daisy was keeping up with her, but Libby flew slightly lower, so when she came back up to the hoops, her angle would go faster.

(hehe)

(( Agh, sorry, I went to have lunch  ))

When Libby agreed to race, Daisy immediately put on her competition face, glaring evily at the Hufflepuff. She was only one year above her, so she couldn't be that much more experienced. Turning her attention to the course ahead, Daisy listened for Libby to explain the course. As soon as she said go, the Slytherin leaned forwards on the handle, causing her broom to shoot forwards sharply. Pushing the broom further and further, Daisy focused hard on the hoops at the end of the pitch. Unaware where abouts Libby was, she had a feeling that she wasn't far behind.

Lying almost flat to the broom, she narrowed her eyes and readied herself to go through the hoops. She noticed that the other girl had lowered herself, presumably to take the faster upwards angle, but didn't do the same. Daisy shot forwards still, straight through the top hoop. Since she knew doing a proper turn would take to much time, she did a fast skidding turn, flying straight back through the hoop. Her teeth, bared, she was certain that she'd widened her lead, but since Libby was below her, she couldn't be 100% sure.

Libby dropped, and watched as the first year over took her. Leaning further forward she reach the first of the posts. She leaning smoothly making the motion easier to control, letting her go faster. She grinned as she sped up, and passed Daisy. "Nice try" she called out, turning to smile, before looking ahead and putting on full power again.

The second and third hoop were easy enough. They were slightly larger than the first. Libby skidded through them almost effortlessly, and glanced back over her shoulder to see how Daisy was doing.
