Ezra thought he looked pretty neat in his costume, it was scary and cool. Though he quickly realized no one could actually see it was him, which was a slight problem. After walking around for a bit and waving at people in his year who just looked confused, Ezra decided the mask had to go, at least for a bit. He sighed, heading over to the sidelines and prying it off his face. At least he could eat now. He pushed up his sleeves and grabbed a donut and ate a big bite, looking around for anyone to talk to.

Thistle was pretty pleased with her costume, even if she wasn't totally sure people would get it. It was a high fashion take, very avant garde. She felt like she was on the cutting edge of something revolutionary. It had been more fun than she had expected, pulling the outfit together from a few random bits of fabric she had found in the Arts Club room. She had started looking at magazines for other ideas of weird, fun things she could make, and she had some pretty grand ideas for the Yule Ball. Right now though, she was enjoying the way her makeshift "rubbish bag" shirt shifted around her as she crossed the hall, grinning when she spotted Ezra popping his mask up. "I wondered who was under there!" She said brightly, bouncing over with a slight wobble from her high heels. "The mask is cool, you look real scary."

Ezra smiled weakly as Thistle joined him, holding up his donut in greeting. He snorted. "I hope I looked scarier with it on." He joked lightly. "You look... interesting, what are you?" He asked, hoping it wasn't extremely obvious. Thistle was one of those people he just didn't quite understand. Someone who was just so themselves and didn't seem to think about what other people thought. Ezra spent most of his time thinking about what other people thought, so he couldn't really relate to that.

Thistle laughed at Ezra's joke, nodding firmly. "Definitely. Not scary at all without it." She laughed when he asked what she was, twirling to show off her costume. "I'm rubbish, get it?" She plucked at the blue overshirt. "This is supposed to look like a plastic bag, and the rest of it is like, kind of dowdy old clothes people might throw away." She paused. "Well, rude people. They really should donate them, but some people are pretty awful about that stuff."

Ezra smiled, oddly pleased to hear he wasn't scary without his mask. He knew it wasn't really a compliment, but it was still nice to hear something nice even if it was that mild, and a joke. He nodded when she said she was rubbish, taking her in. "I see- yeah." He said, nodding along. "I see it." He thought it would perhaps have been more effective to just wear a black trash back, but he guessed that wasn't as interesting. He nodded along to what she said, then realized he didn't know what to say next. He hesitated, looking around for anything interesting to point out. "Oh, they changed the pinata." He said after a beat.
